Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1992;0(12):-
Objective To introduce a proposal that can standardize the clinical information of urine manifestation in Chinese medicine. Methods A hypothesis of symptomatic units was proposed in this paper, herein, the attribute, name and definition of the symptomatic units of urine manifestations in the clinical records of Chinese medicine in the past dynasties were summarized according to the stipulation of logic classification and denomination of a scientific term. Results The 23 symptomatic units,2 bounds and their assembly can express 3867 descriptions on the clinical manifestation of urine. Conclusion The symptomatic unit is a feasible hypothesis that can simplify the clinical information of Chinese medicine. The attribute extraction, denomination and definition may become one of the effective procedures to standardize the clinical information of Chinese medicine.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(06):-
The relationship between genetic polymorphisms and onset or development of disease have become a hot point in medical research presently. So as to study the distribution of genetic polymorphisms of stroke associated genes in different people will aid to deepen cognition to pathogenic mechanism of stroke and heighten prevention and cure ability to this disease. The article summarizes the progress in genetic polymorphisms of some stroke associated genes (MTHFR,ACE,AGT,ApoE,eNOS).

Chinese Journal of General Surgery 2001;0(07):-
Objective To investigate an effective method for detecting lymphatic micrometastasis in gastric carcinoma. Methods RT-PCR technique was applied to examine MMP-7 mRNA in 94 lymph nodes in 24 cases of gastric carcinoma. Results Routine pathological method detected lymphatic metastasis in 54 lymph nodes, while MMP-7 mRNA RT-PCR showed positive in 78 lymph nodes. When re-examination for the 28 negative lymph nodes in the initial pathological examination and positive in RT-PCR, 8 lymph nodes with metastasis were found by routine pathological method.2 of 5 patients whose lymph nodes were negitive in pathological examination, but positive in MMP-7mRNA were found liver metastasis 16 and 22 months after radical gastrectomy. Conclusions MMP-7 mRNA RT-PCR is a sensitive method for detecting lymphatic micrometastasis for patients with gastric carcinoma. It is a great help for eluvating the postoperative prognosis and supplemental treatmemt.

Journal of Integrative Medicine 2011;9(8):813-8
Comparative effectiveness research (CER) has gained more and more popularity, which brought great response in the USA and other developed Western countries. There is no doubt that CER is a new idea and a milestone in health care research. CER is also known as "patient-centered outcomes research", which means patient is the core element in the whole system of CER. Chinese medicine could make new achievements and further development by introducing CER into clinical research. This article mainly introduced the background, features and contents of CER and summarized how to conduct CER in Chinese medicine by referring to some published literature in order to enlighten Chinese medicine researchers.

OBJECTIVE: To probe into a construction model of TCM resource science meeting the need of teaching practice and fitting for teaching and education, which focuses on the both characteristics of TCM and nature of resource. METHODS: Guided by "the three basic key points" theory, the content of the construction of TCM resource science are analyzed, such as foundational theories, elementary knowledge and basic skills, etc., considering academic characteristics and position, write of textbook. RESULTS: Based on current demand, theory analysis, content of system and advantages of the construction of TCM resource science, the new idea characterized with teaching being harmonious with education was put forward and fit for "the three basic key points" theory. CONCLUSIONS: The construction model of TCM resource science is an efficient and technical way to meet the demand of teaching.

Chinese Journal of General Surgery 2001;0(10):-
Objective To explore the value of lymphatic mapping (LM) and sentinel lymph node(SLN) analysis in laparoscopic colectomy for colon carcinoma. Methods Thirty-two patients with clinically localized colonic neoplasms were subjected to submucosal injection of isosulfan blue dye (0.5-1.0 mL) via a colonoscope during operation. Blue-stained lymphatics were visualized through the laparoscope and followed to the SLN,which was tagged. The colectomy was completed in standard fashion. All lymph nodes were stained by hematoxylin and eosin, and multiple sections of each SLN were examined by immunohistochemical (IHC) staining using cytokeratin antibody. Results At least one SLN was identified laparoscopically in all patients. The SLN accurately predicted the tumor status of the nodal basin in 94% of cases. In 8 cases (25%),an unexpected lymphatic drainage pattern altered the extent of mesenteric resection. The SLN was negative by HE staining in 4 (13%) cases, which were demonstrated positive for micrometastases through immunohistochemical staining. Conclusions SLN mapping during laparoscopic colon resection can alter the margins of resection and in combination with immunohistochemical staining may improve staging, which may more accurately assign patients to prospective protocols.

Herald of Medicine 2015;(10):1347-1351
Objective To optimize the process of extracting total saponins from Platycodon grandiflorum by orthogonal experimental design and central composite design-response surface method. Methods Independent variables were concentration of ethanol, reflux extraction time, reflux time and solvent fold. Dependent variables were extraction rate of total saponins in Platycodon grandiflorum and the yield of dry extract.Linear or nonlinear mathematic models were used to estimate the relationship between independent and dependent variables. Results The result of the orthogonal experimental design was 70%ethanol, 180 min for reflux, 6 fold of solvent and 2 times for extraction. The result of central composite design-response surface method was 70% ethanol, 140 min for reflux, 10 fold of solvent and 2 times for extraction. Conclusion The central composite design-response surface method is better than orthogonal experimental design in studying extraction process of Platycodon grandiflorum, which provides basis for feasibility of application of central composite design-response surface method in optimization of extraction process of Chinese traditional medicine.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2010;26(3):294-297
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive, degenerative disease of the brain, which causes learning and memory to become seriously impaired. AD not only influences the patient's quality of life, but also places a great burden on caregivers. With the increasing of aging population, the pressures can be wide-ranging, involving social, psychological, physical, and economic elements of the caregivers' life. The cause and progression of Alzheimer's disease are not well understood. Currently used treatments include pharmaceutical and psychosocial ones, each offering a small symptomatic benefit. Actually, there are still no available medicines and treatments to delay the progression of the disease. Therefore, the development of a new ideal medicine to treat AD patients becomes the first priority. In recent years, most researchers have turned to natural products, hoping to find a drug candidate to cure AD patient. Baicalein, a traditional Chinese medicine extracted from Scutellaria Baicalensis (Chinese herb), has been demonstrated holding the properties of anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptosis, anti-oxidant, and improving learning and memory of human brain. Baicalein is becoming a potential ideal medicine for treating AD patient.
