Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(06):-
The protective effect of TGPs on acute liver damage induced by carbon tetrachloride ( CCl4 ) was investigated in mice . TGPs ( 40 or 80mg/kg?d ? 3d, ip ) reduced the elevation of plasma or serume gl- utamic pyruvic transaminase ( GPT ) and plasma lactate dehydroge-nase ( LDH ) in CCl4-intoxicated mice, but if had no significant influence on the elevation of plasma glutamic oxalacetic transaminase ( GOT).TGPs (40mg/kg?d ? 3d, ip ) showed a protective effect on the histopathologic changes of liver injury induced by CCl4. The results suggest that TGPs may a protect against hepatic damage.

[Objective] To investigate the immigration and differentiation of neural stem cell in vivo after intravenous transplantation into adult rats with spinal cord injury.[Method]Lower ventricle tissue was obtained from new-born rats aged 14 to 16 days, and the target cells were identified after cultured in vitro, neural stem cells signed by Brdu was injected into model rats of full-cut spinal cord via tail vein one week after injury.CSEP test and BBB function evaluation were conducted 8 weeks later after transplantation. The specimens made from the injured spinal cord of rats were affused with 8% poly formaldehyde, which aimed to get pathology section and imunnohistochemical staining.[Result](1)According to BBB scores, functional recovery was found in injury group and transplantation group but did not reach normal level, while in transplantation group the functional recovers got the better.(2)cerebro-spinal evoked potential(CSEP)in control group and injury group disappeared, and the latency period of CSEP in transplantation group was prolonged, but control group was not interfered.(3)Compared with injury group,a large amount of Brdu positive cells existed at the injured part of spinal cord in the transplant group, which indicated that the engrafted NSCs could survive and migrate into the injured part, and some of them could differentiated into the glial fibriuary acidic protein(GFAP)and NF-200 positive cells that had characteristics of neuron or glial cell.[Conclusion]Neural stem cell can reach the injured part of spinal cord and replace the injured neuron or glial cell via intravenous transplantation, which enable the injured spinal cord to functionally recover to some extent.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(04):-
Survivin is a member of the IAP family, which has been shown to localize to various components of the mitotic apparatus. Survivin is not only an apoptosis inhibitor, but a mitotic regulator as well. Survivin is Absolutely undetectable in normal tissues, but over-expressed in all the most common human cancers. Survivin is considered as an important target in cancer treatment, and the research on its molecular antagonists has gained encouraging achievements.

Objective In order to make a definite diagnosis and raise the therapeutic level for the upper limb neuritis of unknown cause Methods A study on upper limb neuritis of unknown cause was carried out on eight patientsThere were six men and two women, with a mean ages of 34 yearsFindings were initially restricted to the ulnar nerve distrbution in six patients, and radial nerve in two patientsClinical course was from five months to four yearsAll the patients were subjected to neurolysis or interfascicular neurolysis combined with perineural prednisolone acetate injection at the same timeMicroscopically,it appears the nonspecific in resecting epineurium Results Neuritic pain was first to disappearSix patients showed sensory and motor function recovery, except one patient appears the same symptoms as involving ulnar nerve at the other limb one year laterThe another patient involved radial nerve only relieved severe pain Conclusions The diagnosis of limbs neuritis without any known cause is going to make a thorough inquiryNeurolysis is a satisfactory method, the result is distinctly better than nonsurgical treatments

Objective To investigate the effects of laparoscopic and open resection with pelvic autonomic nerve preservation (PANP) on sexual function of male patients with lower rectal cancer. Methods Total 177 male patients with lower rectal cancer received surgery from September 2008 to December 2013 were enrolled into two groups: the laparoscopic PANP group (n = 105) and the open PANP group (n = 72). The classifications of erectile and ejaculatory functions were used to evaluate the sexual functions of patients at 6 months and 12 months post-operation, respectively. The effect of different operation on the sexual function of the male patients was compared between the two groups. Results The incidence rates of erectile dysfunction at 6 months and 12 months post-operation in the laparoscopic group were lower than those in the laparotomy group (P < 0.05). The incidence rates of ejaculatory dysfunction at 6 months and 12 months post-operation in the laparoscopic group were also lower than those in the laparotomy group (P < 0.05). Conclusion The laparoscopic resection with PANP in patients with lower rectal cancer can not only clearly reveal pelvic autonomic nerve and effectively protect them, but also reduce the incidence of postoperative sexual dysfunction.

Objective To explore the relationship between brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF)gene polymorphisms and the susceptibility to pediatric epilepsy. Methods BDNF polymorphisms in 128 patients with pediatric epilepsy and 132 healthy controls were analyzed with polymerase chain reaction restriction and fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP).Results There were significant differences between pediatric epilepsy and controls on genotype frequency of BDNF-270C/T (X2 =7.08,P =0.03 ).The CC genotype was positively associated with pediatric epilepsy (OR =3.91,95%CI =1.26 ~ 12.14).No differences in genotype or allele frequencies of the other polymorphisms were found between patients and controls. The frequencies of haplotypes did not show significant differences between patients and controls. Conclusion These findings support the hypothesis that BDNF-270C/T polymorphism may contribute to the risk of developing pediatric epilepsy.

Journal of International Pharmaceutical Research 2016;(1):26-32
Alzheimer′s disease(AD)is a degenerative metabolic disease, whose exact pathological mechanism still remains unknown. Currently, studies have found that patients in AD accompany with insulin signaling pathway impairment and cerebral glu?cose metabolism dysfunction. As insulin signaling pathway and cerebral glucose metabolism homeostasis play a key role in AD ,some researches consider AD as“typeⅢdiabetes”. This review aims to discuss the alteration of cerebral insulin signaling pathway and glu?cose metabolism in AD,as well as their relationship with AD. We will also elaborate the advance in anti-AD drugs based on cerebral insulin signaling pathway.

Objective To study the technique and clinical effect of endoscopic surgery using high frequency electrotome with suction device for nasopharyngeal angiofibroma. Methods In this study, we retrospective analyzed the clinical data of 10 patients treated between January 2009 and December 2015. All these patients were treated by endoscopic surgery using high frequency electrotome with suction device. The average blood loss during surgery, tumor residual, recurrent tumor and duration of recovery were evaluated. Results The tumor was completely removed in all 10 patients. The average blood loss was 465 ml, there was no postoperative complication, all patients had no residual tumor, and there was no recurrent tumor over a follow-up of 6~18 months. Conclusion Though it was not preoperative transcatheter arterial embolization, the endoscopic surgery using high frequency electrotome with suction device can be used to treated nasopharyngeal angiofibroma which either limited to nasopharyngeal cavities and paranasal sinus with intraoperative blood pressure control.
