Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2014;38(2):114-121
An automatic urine monitoring system is presented to replace manual operation. The system is composed of the flow sensor, MSP430f149 single chip microcomputer, human-computer interaction module, LCD module, clock module and memory module. The signal of urine volume is captured when the urine flows through the flow sensor and then displayed on the LCD after data processing. The experiment results suggest that the design of the monitor provides a high stability, accurate measurement and good real-time, and meets the demand of the clinical application.

Objective To explore the role of graph-text-combined health education in dieting health education for patients with hematologic diseases. Methods About 56 patients with hematologic diseases hospitalized in February 2015 were assigned as the control group and another 57 patients with the same diseases during March to April 2015 as the experiment group. In the control group, routine dieting health education was done and in the latter the graph-text-combined health education was used for the dieting health education. The two groups were compared in view of recognition on dieting knowledge, dieting compliance and patient's satisfaction level. Result The recognition on dieting knowledge, dieting compliance and patient's satisfaction level were all higher those of that the control group (P<0.05). Conclusions The graph-text-combined health education can improve the recognition on dieting knowledge, dieting compliance and patient's satisfaction level when it is used in the health education for the patients with hematologic diseases. Therefore, it is worth clinically popularizing.

This paper introduces the development and animal tests of a miniaturized electrical chest compression device. Based on pulse width modulation technology produced by micro control unit, the device can control the frequency and depth of the compression accurately, as well as perform real-time adjustment. Therefore, it can perform continuous and stable chest compression for long time, which may increase the successful rate of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Besides, the device can also produce different types of compression waveforms, including trapezoidal and triangular waveforms. Then, the performance and efficacy of the device was assessed with a rat model of asphyxial cardiac arrest (CA).

Objective To prepare an occupation well-being scale for nurses, and test its reliability and validity. Methods After literature review and semi-structured interviews, the item pool of the occupation well-being scale for nurses was created based on theory of structure of the subjective well-being. After group discussion, and evaluation by the specialists, a pilot scale was obtained. A total of 350 clinical nurses were selected by using stratified sampling method, and their occupation well-being were surveyed by the scale. The data were used to assess the reliability and validity of the scale. Results The occupation well-being scale for nurses had 3 dimensions, including 8 exploring factors. The values of Cronbach Alpha and the split half reliability coefficient of the total scale, endogenous exogenous satisfaction, satisfaction of nurses occupation happiness were all larger than 0.9, which meaned the internal consistency was good. In the emotion dimension, the value of Cronbach Alpha and the split half reliability coefficient were less than 0.7, which meant the internal consistency was not so good. The reliability coefficient of repeated measurement of the whole scale and each dimension were greater than 0.7, suggesting the external consistency of the scale was good. The content validity index of 3 dimensions were all larger than 0.9,and the cumulative ex-planatory variables were all larger than 55%. Conclusion The occupation well-being scale for nurses proposed in this study has good reliability and validity, and can be used to evaluate the occupation well-being of the nurses.

Objective To investigate the changing trend of incidence and the relevant factors in fetal macrosomia. Methods 84 883 newborns during Jan. 1,1970 to Dec. 31,1999 were used to analyze the incidence of fetal macrosomia, the average birth weight, the percentage of superior fetal macrosomia, the distribution of gestational age, the rate of cesarean section and the vaginal delivery, the relevant factors of fetal macrosomia. Results All the cases were divided into 3 groups, one group from 1970 to 1979, the second one from 1980 to 1989, the third one from 1990 to 1999. The incidence of fetal macrosomia for three groups were 2. 6%, 6. 9% and 13 2% ( P

Objective To study the features and reasons of violent events in medical staff and the public sentiments on them based on a network analysis. Methods The data of violent events in medical staff were down-loaded from Internet. The annual and geographic distribution and reasons of violent events in medical staff, casualties of medi-cal staff and the public opinions on the major Websites were analyzed. Results The number of violent events in medical staff increased to 31 in 2012 from 1 in 2003. The violent events were distributed in 18 provinces of China, the number of casualties was 105 , and 53% of the violent events occurred due to the unsatisfactory therapeutic out-comes in patients. Conclusion The public sentiments on violent events in medical staff tend to increase on Internet and characterized by no signs and direct conflict between patients or their family members before attacking medical staff, and against general medical staff. Public sentiments on violent events in medical staff are easy to become hot events with significant negative effects on the society. Medical institutions and hospitals should prevent such events and play an active role in guiding the public sentiments.

Objective To investigate the resistance rates of the Candida albicans strains isolated from patients with vulvovaginal candidiasis to 5 antifungal agents and examine the mechanism of azole resistance in these strains. Methods A total of 1 646 C.albicans strains were collected in Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University from January to December 2015.The resistance rates of these isolates to five antifungal agents were analyzed.Azole-resistant (n=30),dose dependent sensitive (S-DD) (n=13),and susceptible isolates (n=10) were randomly selected from the microbiology laboratories of three obstetrics and gynecology hospitals in Shanghai. The expression levels of drug efflux pump related gene CDR1,CDR2,MDR1 and drug target enzyme gene ERG11 were analyzed by real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR).At the same time, the ERG11 and ERG3 genes were amplified by PCR and sequenced, and analyzed for resistance-related mutations. Results Of the 1 646 C.albicans strains,5.2%,3.2%,2.5% and 2.1% were resistant to itraconazole, voriconazole, fluconazole and 5-fluorocytosine,respectively.All isolates were sensitive to amphotericin B.The expression of ERG11 gene was significantly higher in S-DD group and azole-resistant group than in azole-sensitive group (P<0.05).The expression of CDR1,CDR2 and MDR1 did not show significant difference among the three groups. There were 13 missense mutations in the ERG11 gene,of which T123I,P98S and Y286D amino acid substitutions were newly discovered. Both T123I and Y132H were identified in 26 resistant isolates,of which 16 gene mutation was detected in two pan-azole-resistant isolates. Conclusions The C.albicans strains isolated from vulvovaginal candidiasis showed higher resistance rates to azole antifumgal agents than that to 5-fluorocytosine and amphotericin B.Mutation and over-expression ofERG11 gene may be one of the prevalent molecular mechanisms underlying azole resistance in C.albicans.were pan-azole-resistant.In addition, the ERG3 heterozygous
