Objective To investigate the serum CEA,CA199,CA242,CA724,AFP levels as tumor markers for diagnosis and prognosis of gastric cancer. Methods The serum concentrations of CEA,CA199,CA724,AFP were detected in 108 patients with gastric cancer by ECLIA (electrochemiluminescence immunoassay) method.CA242 by ELISA method. The survival analysis was performed by the Kaplan-Meier method,Cox' s proportional hazards model was used for multivariate analysis of prognosis. Results Using healthy subjects group as control, the ROC-AUC of CEA,CA199,CA242,CA724 were 0.735,0.714,0.598,0.576.The sensitivity, specificity and Youden index were 40.2 %,97.7 %,0.379; 43.0 %,91.3 %,0.343;35.2 %,94.8 %,0.300 and 31.3 %,95.3 %,0.266,respectively.For combined detection of CEA,CA199,CA242,CA724,the sensitivity, specificity and Youden Index were 76.8 %,82.3 %,0.585.The levels of CEA,CA724 were closely related to lymph node status (both P < 0.05).The concentrations of CEA,CA199,CA242 were significantly related to vascular embolization, distant metastases and ascites (all P < 0.05).The patients of lump and catheter had significantly higher of AFP compared with patients of invasion and anabrosis (P < 0.05).In gastric cancer patients, the size of the primary tumors was closely related to the preoperative serum levels of CEA,AFP,CA724 (P < 0.05).During follow-up,there were 34 cases of death in 59 patients, and the median survival time were 18.1,10.9 months for the patients with CEA negative and positive (P < 0.005).Conclusions Combing detection of CEA,CA199,CA242,CA72 can improve sensitivity of gastric cancer, and play an important role in forecasting the recurrence, metastasis, curing and prognosis evaluation.CEA is an important predictor of recurrence and prognosis of gastric cancer.

Objective To analyze the clinical features and interval of multiple primary carcinoma (MPC). Methods 52 patients with MPCs between October 2002 and May 2007 were reviewed. Results 7 patients had synchronous carcinoma (13.46%), and 45 had metachronous carcinoma (86.54%). The interval between the first primary cancer and MPC was from 0 to 31 years, averaged 7.1 years. Male was 7.3 years, and female was 9.3 years (P

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the current situation and developing trend of the drugs for schizophrenia in Guangdong Province.METHODS:The defined daily dose(DDD)system for drug utilization recommended by WHO was adopted. The data of antipsychotic consumption in44hospitals of Guangdong Province during the period2000~2002were col?lected and analysed.RESULTS:The sum of money of consumption of antipsychotics for schizophrenia in Guangdong Province was increasing year by year, and the use of the first generation antipsychotics was declining year by year and the second was increasing.CONCLUSION:The second generation antipsychotics for schizophrenia with good therapeutic effect, less ARDs will occupy the market of antipsychotics.

The changes of CD4(+)CD25(+) regulatory T cells (CD4(+)CD25(+) Treg) and Foxp3 mRNA in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from patients with asthma were investigated in order to elucidate the possible roles of CD4(+)CD25(+) Treg in the development of asthma. The peripheral blood samples were collected from 29 healthy controls (normal control group) and 78 patients with asthma which included 30 patients in exacerbation group, 25 patients in persistent group, and 23 patients in remission group. By using flow cytometry and RT-PCR, the CD4(+)CD25(+) Treg ratio and Foxp3 mRNA in PBMCs were detected. The CD4(+)CD25(+) Treg ratio and Foxp3 mRNA in PBMCs of exacerbation and persistent groups were lower than that of remission and normal control group (P<0.05). Although the CD4(+)CD25(+) Treg ratio and Foxp3 mRNA of remission group also lower than that of normal control group, there was no significant difference between them (P>0.05). As compared with persistent group, exacerbation group had lower CD4(+)CD25(+) Treg ratio and Foxp3 mRNA (P<0.05). It was indicated that the decrease of CD4(+)CD25(+) Treg ratio and its function in PBMCs may be responsible for pathogenesis of asthma.

Objective To evaluate the radiation dose to patients using radial and femoral artery access in coronary angiography (CAG) and intracoronary stenting (IS) ,provide basis for clinical intervention path .Methods The data of 190 samples (43 by femo-ral and 147 by radial) underwent CAG and 54 samples (17 by femoral and 37 by radial) underwent CAG+IS were analyzed retro-spectively .All samples were divided into two groups (radial group and femoral group) by different approach ,and radiation dose in different approach were analyzed .Results There was no significant difference of Dose Area Product (DAP) and Cumulative Dose (CD) using femoral and radial access in CAG (P>0 .05) .Separating two samples which CD were much higher than others ,the mean DAP was 23 .93 Gy · cm2 and the mean CD was 358 .85 mGy using radial vs .27 .06 Gy · cm2 and 369 .57 mGy using femoral , not distinctive either(P=0 .734 ,P=0 .834) .In CAG+IS ,the mean DAP was 82 .64 Gy · cm2 using radial and it was 78 .11 Gy · cm2 using femoral ,and the mean CD was 1 286 .41 mGy using radial and it was 1 267 .76 mGy using femoral .There were no signifi-cant difference in both DAP and CD (P=0 .705 ,P= 0 .919) .Conclusion The radiation dose of DAP and CD were not different when using radial access and using femoral access in CAG and CAG +IS .

OBJECTIVE:To study the current situation and developing trend of the antidiabetics used in Guangdong re?gion.METHODS:The antidiabetics used in44hospitals in Guangdong region during the period2000~2003were analysed concerning the kinds of drug, sum of money for consumption and frequency of drug use.RESULTS:The sum of money for consumption of antidiabetics increased year by year so did its proportion in sum of money for consumption of total drug.Among them, consumption of insulin increased very quickly and oral antidiabetics assumed a tendency of increase as well.CONCLUSI_ ON:The variety of insulin is stable and new oral antidiabetics is going into market occasionally in this region, but frequency of use is primary to sulfonylurea, biguanides and glycosidase-inhibitors.

The prevalence of thyroid nodules in population is increasing around the world. To categorize thyroid nodules and stratify their malignant risk, thyroid imaging reporting and data system(TIRADS)was developed 6 years ago based on US , which is similar to breast imaging reporting and data system (BI-RADS). This paper aims at summarizing the particular content of kinds of TIRADS proposed by different researcher, clinic value of the application of TIRADS, the research status of TIRADS application, as well as the prospect of TIRADS based on CT and MRI.
