Nine patients with tinnitus were treated with tinnitus retraining therapy( TRT) between August and November, 1997. The components of TRT included(1)correct counselling, (2)use of appropriate hearing aid, (3)mask with a low level sound, (4)use of relaxation technique. 7 cases demonstrated encouraging results of treatment. This provides a new method for treatment of tinnitus.

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of hepatocellular carcinoma treatment with a combination therapy of transcather arterial super liquefied lipiodol embolization and cytokine-induced killer cell(CIK) infusion. Methods There were 3 groups in this study, group 1:38 cases of HCC patients treated with a combination therapy of transcather arterial super liquified lipiodol embolization and CIK infusion;group 2:80 cases of HCC patients treated with a combination therapy of transcather arterial super liquefied lipiodol embolization and percutaneous intratumoral ethanol injection;group 3:134 cases of HCC patient treated with transcather arterial super liquefied embolization. Finally, the outcomes of the 3 groups were compared. Results The short term effective rates of group 1,2 and 3 were 76.1%,41.3% and 14.9% respectively, simultaneously with significant difference of changes concerning AFP value among the three groups especially in group 1 the AFP decrease to normal level while those of the other two groups still remain in higher levels. Conclusions The living quality and survival rate of HCC patients could be improved by a combination therapy of transcather arterial super liquefied lipiodal embolization and CIK infusion.(J Intervent Radiol,2007,16:235-239)

Objective To summarize the clinical results of treatment of tibia plateau fracture. Methods Forty-six cases of tibial plateau fractures were treated with operation from Oct. 2007 to Oct. 20l2 in General Hospital of PinGdinGshan Coal Industry Groud. AccordinG to Schatzker classification,6 cases were typeⅠ,8 were type Ⅱ,6 were type Ⅲ,4 were type Ⅳ,l2 were type Ⅴ,and l0 were type Ⅵ. Patients in type Ⅰwere treated with open reduction and fixation with screws, other types were treated with open reduction and internal fixation combined with anatomy or lockinG plates and screws. And bone Grafts were used when severe bone defect after reduction. Results Forty-six cases were followed up from 6 months to l8 months( averaGe 8. 5 months ) . AccordinG to the Rasmussen knee score standard, the satisfactory rate was 89. l%( 4l/46 ). Conclusion Different methods of operative treatment of tibia plateau fracture is recommended accordinG to the type of fractures, quality of the bone and the combination of injury. Soft tissue protection should always be kept in mind durinG operation. Delayed operation,Good restitution and fixation, early exercise of joint and late weiGht loadinG are the key factors in the treatment of tibial plateau fracture.

Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of two-stage delayed open reduction and internal fixation on Pilon fractures. Methods The clinical data of 38 patients with type Ⅱ and type Ⅲ Pilon fracture were analyzed retrospectively.According to the Ruedi-Allgower classification, there were 18 cases with type Ⅱand 20 cases with type Ⅲ fracture. All patients underwent temporary fixation with calcaneal traction or external fixation for 7 to 17 days, and then they were treated with delayed surgery when the soft tissue injuries subsided. Results Follow-up was performed for 10 to 18 months.Based on the Mazur classification, the ankle function in 12 cases was excellent,18 cases as good,6 cases as fair and 2 cases as poor, with a satisfactory rate of 78.9%.Conclusion Two-stage delayed open reduction and internal fixation is a reasonable and effective procedure in treating type Ⅱ and type Ⅲ Pilon fractures with advantages of few complications and satisfactory ankle function.

The emergence of the anti-tumor necrosis factor alpha(anti-TNF-α)therapies has brought lots of benefits to patients with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).However, controversies exist over whether anti-TNF-α could be used for Crohn's disease(CD)patients with intestinal stricture. Some articles found stricturing CD patients under anti-TNF therapy had a high risk of intestinal obstruction or even perforation while others found that there was no association between anti-TNF-α and intestinal obstruction. The fundamental cause lies in that anti-TNF-α only target at inflammation, but cannot be resistant to intestinal fibrosis or change long term outcome. To avoid and prevent intestinal obstruction or perforation, authors should evaluate the component and type of intestinal stricture cautiously before starting anti-TNF-α therapy.Exploring new specific antifibrotic therapy will be a promising way for all stricturing CD patients.
