Objective To study whether carvacrol can cause apoptosis in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cell line NCI-H1299, and explore its possible molecular mechanism. Methods NCI-H1299 cells were treated with different concentrations of carvacrol (20, 40, 60 and 80μmol/L) for 24 or 48 h. The viability of cells was evaluated by MTT assay, apoptosis was analyzed by flow cytometry (FCM) and the effect of carvacrol on metastasis of NCI-H 1299 was analyzed by Transwell assay. The expression level of caspase-9, MMP-9 and TIMP-1 were detected by quantitative realtime-PCR and Western blot assay. Results After treatment with carvacrol, the viability of NCI-H1299 cells was suppressed dramatically (P<0.05), without dose-dependent manner (P>0.05). After being incubated with carvacrol for 24 h, FCM analysis indicated that carvacrol effectively induced apoptosis in NCI-H1299 cells (P<0.05), without dose-dependent manner (P>0.05). The ability of invasion was decreased (40.67±3.63 vs. 76.00±5.78). Carvacrol inhibited the protein and mRNA expression levels of caspase-9, but increased the expression of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 (P<0.05). Conclusion Carvacrol can induce apoptosis of NCI-H1299 cells and inhibit their invasion, which may be associated with up-regulation of caspase-9 expression and down-regulation of MMP-9 expression.

Objective To analyse the pathogenesis,diagnosis and therapy for severe lung contusion.Methods 38 cases of severe lung contusion were observed.On the basis of lung contusion,the patients suffered from mltiple organs trauma,or abdomino-thoracic combinative trauma all of the patients were comprehansive treated with assited ventilation,antishock,high dasage hormone in short-time,dehydrating agent and diuretics therapy etc.Simultaneously,all of concurrent trauma were also reasonably managed timely which including closed thoracic drainage,open chest hemostasis,scavenging hematoma with craniotomy laparosplenotomy,hepatospleno-repair,gastroenterostomy,lower or upper extremity open reduction and extration etc.Results By oxygen inhalation comprehensive treatment did not improve the dyspnea symptom of severe lung contusion when the blood oxygen saturation was lower than 85% and further fall,the severe lung contusion patients were obviously improved by assited ventilation with respirator.Conclusions Using assited ventilation could raise the cure rate for the severe lung contusion,and simultaneously,early diagnosis and comprehansive treatment in time have identical importance.

Synovial sarcoma is a high grade malignant soft tissue tumor. Its diagnosis and differential diagnosis are difficult. In most cases the reciprocal chromosomal translocation between chromosome X and chromosome 18 could be found and characterized synovial sarcoma. This article reviewed the relationship between chromosomal translocation and the diagnosis, histological type and prognosis of synovial sarcoma.

Objective To study the effect of the MafA therapy for blood slucose control in diabetic rats.Methods Rats were divided into 3 groups:treatment group,DM group and control group.In DM group,Wistar rats were rendered diabetic by intrvenous injection of streptozotocin(STZ).In treatment group,mixture of MafA and liposomes at the volume ratio of 1:1 was injected to the portal vein of the diabetic rats.Blood glucose change in the diabetic rats Was measured.Results ① For treatment group,blood slucose decreased from 20.6 mmol/L-22.8 mmol／L to 13.6 mmol／L-14.8 mmol／L and plasma insulin level was significantly elevated for a duration about 2 weeks.②After treatment,blood slucose level significantly decreased compared to DM group (P<0.05).③ Plasma insulin level Was significantly higher than that in DM group(P<0.05).④ Expression of MafA mRNA can be detected in the liver oftreatment group while it Was not found in DM group.Immunohistochemical analysis revealed that insulin expression Was found in the liver of treatment group while it Was not found in the liver of DM group.Conclusion Injection of MafA and liposomes at the volume ratio of 1:1 via the portal vein can effectively decrease blood glucose in diabetic rats.

Objective To analyze the relation of hypermethylated secreted frizzled-related protein 2 (SFRP2) gene in feces and peripheral blood of colorectal cancer(CRC) patient with Dukes stages and histological types,and to evaluate SFRP2 gene for screening and judging the pathogenetic condition of CRC.Methmls Methylation-specific PCR assay was performed to analyze SFRP2 gene promoter methylation status in a blinded fashion in tumor tissues,stool and pefipheral blood samples taken from 169 CRC patients,63 patients with adenoma,46 with hyperplastic polyp and 30 endoscopically normal subjects.Results SFRP2 gene Was hypermethylated in 88.2%.65.1%and 45.7% of CRC.adenoma and non-adenomatous polyp tissues,in 84.0%,46.0% and 32.6%of corresponding fecal samples,and in 66.9%,6.4%and 2.2% of corresponding peripheral blood samples,respectively.In contrast,no methylated SFRP2 gene was detected in mucosal tissues and peripheral blood of normal controls,while two cases of matched fecal samples from normal controls were detected with hypermethylated SFRP2.Moreover,no significant correlation were observed between SFRP2 hypermethylation and clinicopathological features including sex,age,size,location and Dukes stage,but there was a significant correlation between SFRP2 hypermethylation and tumor difierentiation and infiltration.SFRP2 hypermethylation in peripheral blood of CRC patients was positively correlated with the Dukes stage. Condusions Hypermethylation of SFRP2 gene in feces works as a molecular biomarker for CRC screening.The hypermethylation of SFRP2 gene is positively related with Dukes stage.

Objective To observe the clinical curative effect of phentolamine in the treatment of severe hand-foot-mouth disease (HFMD) . Methods We observed the clinical symptoms and related index changes before and after treatment of 62 cases of severe HFMD patients who were treated by the basis of conventional therapy with additional phentolamine. The blood pressure of patients was closely monitored,and the dosage of phentolamine was adjusted. Result The blood pressure and heart rate of sick children who used phentolamine improved significantly, the difference was statistically significant ( <0.05) . Conclusion Phentolamine has significant clinical curative effect in treatment of server HFMD.

This study was aimed to observe the promotion effect of wound healing retention enema for postoperative anal fistula by modifiedWu-Wei Xiao-Du(WWXD) decoction, in order to explore its mechanism. A total of 60 patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group, with 30 cases in each group. Patients in both groups were diagnosed as simple low anal fistula and treated with low anal fistula incision. The retention enema of 30 mL modified WWXD decoction or complexHuang-Bai fluid were given once a day for postoperative dressing changes. Detailed observations and scores were made on wound exudate, color, and itching around the anus. The comparisons were made on carrion off time, new epithelium time, rate of wound-reducing, wound healing time, and the total clinical efficacy 21 days after operation. The results showed that the wound exudate on the 7th and 14th postoperative day was better than that of the control group. There was no significant difference on the 21st day between two groups. The wound color of the treatment group was better than that of the control group on the 7th and 14th postoperative day. The itching around anus of the treatment group was better than that of the control group on the 7th, 14th and 21st postoperative day. The carrion wound off time and new epithelium time of the treatment group were earlier than that of the control group. There was no significant difference on the rate of wound-reducing. There were no significant differences on the total clinical efficacy 21 days after operation as well as the total average healing time of both groups. It was concluded that modified WWXD decoction can shorten the inflammation phase, reduce the wound exudate and itching, promote early carrion fall and as well as the wound healing.

Objective To summarize the clinical experience of endovascular intervention for intra-cranial aneurysms, especially in the respect of the technique and management of intra-operative complications. Method The clinical data of 60 patients with intra-cranial aneurysms treated with endovascular intervention in the past 3 years were analyzed. The relevant literature especially with regard to the practical technique described was reviewed so as to potentiall minimize and properly manage the intra-operative complications. Results A total of 69 sacciform aneurysms and one dissecting aneurysm located at left vertebral artery (VA) were detected by using digital subtraction angiography (DSA) in 60 patients. There were 65 saccular aneurysms obliterated with constructive approach, and five of them treated with stent-assisted technique and four of them treated with ballon-assisted technique. The VA dissecting aneurysm was obliterated with coils by deconstructive approach with complete occlusion of its parent vessel. There were a total of 53 complete occlusions of aneurysms accounted for 76.81% of 69 sacciform aneurysms in 51 patients ( 85 % ) and eight subtotal occlusion of aneurysms (95 % ～ 99 % occlusion) accounted for 13.56% of total sacciform aneurysms in five patients (8.47%) and four incomplete occlusion of aneurysms ( ＜ 95% occlusion) accounted for 6.78% of total sacciform aneurysms in three patients (5.08%), and one was failure in operation. The rupture of aneurysms occurred during operation in4 patients (6.78%). Two senile patients suffered from intra-opeartive symptomatic thromboembolisn. One patient had stent shifting and spring coil dislocated and moved into the M3 segment of the ipsilateral MCA. Vasospasm occurred in 15 patients during operation, and most of them received endovascular intervention 3 days after the initial ictus. The rate of good recovery was 93.3% at discharge from hospital (the modified Rankin Scales, mRS＜ 2). There were 55 patients followed up for up 24 months after discharge, and excellent recovery rate was found in 51 patients ( mRS ＜ 2), and 3 died.During the follow-up period, no aneurismal recanalization or rupture was noticed in all patients. Conclusions The endovascular intervention is a safe and effective approach to the intra = cranial aneurysms. Advances in the skill of technique and proper management will decrease the complications during operation and improve the prognosis of patients.

OBJECTIVE To observe the effect of the silver sulfadiazine-impregnated hydrocolloid dressing on the pain of nail extraction wound during dressing change and the healing time of wound. METHODS Forty eight patients with nail extraction were randomly divided into two groups: in the study group,whose wound was covered with silver sulfadiazine-impregnated hydrocolloid dressing;in the control group,whose wound was applied vaseline gauze when the nail had been extracted and the wound was applied antibiotic gauze during dressing change.The pain scores of two groups were compared.Two groups were compared with healing time and the times of dressing change. RESULTS The pain scores in the study group were significantly lower than that of the control group.The healing time of wound and the times of dressing change in the study group were less than that of the control one((P
