Chinese Journal of Urology 1994;0(02):-
Objective To investigate the pathogenesis ,d iagnosis and treatment of traumatic pseudoaneurysmal-ureteral fistula. Methods A 49-year-old male patient with traumatic iliac pseu doaneurysmal-ureteral fistula was reported. The patient presented with recurrent massive hematuria, and then was diagnosed by DSA and ureteroscopy.By reviewing t he published literature on arterio-ureteral fistula, we analyzed and discussed the patient’s clinical data. Results The patient was cu red by endovascular management. The procedure was as follows.First, the right exte rnal iliac artery was dilated with balloon;then the right internal iliac artery was embolized;finally,a covered stent was placed into the right external iliac a rtery.During 18-month follow-up,no hematuria recurred. Conclusions Traumatic pseudoaneurysmal -ureteral fistula is clinically rare.Th e main symptom is massive hematuria.DSA and ureteroscopy are important means for diagnosis of the disease.Endovascular therapy with covered stents is a safe, eff icacious method for the treatment of the disease.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect and mechanism of ursolic acid on carrageenan-induced chronic nonbacterial prostatitis (CNP) of SD rats. Methods Forty-two SD rats were randomly divided into five groups:normal control group, model control group, Pushitai group, ursolic acid high-dose group, and low-dose group.Except for normal control group, chronic nonbacterial prostatitis model was established using carrageenan. The rats of Pushitai group were treated with the solution of Pushitai at the dose of 148 mg??kg-1??d-1 for twenty days. The rats of ursolic acid high-dose and low-dose groups were administered with ursolic acid at the doses of 100 and 50 mg??kg-1??d-1 for twenty days, respectively. The rats of normal and model control groups were treated with isometric 5% CMC-Na for twenty days. The prostate index (PI) was calculated from the ratio of isolated rat prostate weight and body weight of rat.The expressions of IL-1β, TNF-α, and IL-10 were detected by ELISA. The histology and morphology of the prostate was observed with the aid of hematoxylin-eosin staining. Results Compared with the model control group, PI and the levels of IL-1β, TNF-α, and IL-10 in serum were significantly decreased in ursolic acid high-dose,and low dose groups ( P<0. 05 ) . Moreover, the pathological changes of prostate were improved significantly. Conclusion Ursolic acid has certain therapy effects on chronic nonbacterial prostatitis, which may be related to its regulating the expressions of IL-1β, TNF-α, and IL-10.

Objective To investigate the possible effects of COL8A1 on the proliferation, invasion and drug sensitivity of murine hepatocarcinoma cell line Hca-F, we used an RNA interference (RNAi) approach to silence COL8A1 expression. Methods The expression levels of COL8A1 in HcaF/siRNA cells were assessed by RT-PCR and Western blot. The inhibitory effect of RNAi on Hca-F cell invasion in vitro was demonstrated by ECM invasion assay. The in vitro proliferative ability and drug sensitivity of COL8A1-deficient cells were determined by MTT assay. Results The expression of COL8A1 was significantly reduced in COL8A1/siRNA cells after 30h transfection, compared with both the RNAi control and the Hca-F cells. The reduced COL8A1 expression also attenuated the proliferative, invasive ability, as well as increased drug sensitivity of Hca-F/siRNA cells. Conclusion Our current results indicate that the expression of COL8A1 functionally mediates tumor cell proliferation, invasion, and drug sensitivity, and is a potential target for therapeutic anti-cancer drugs.

Objective To determine the main CT features and the key points of differential diagnosis of multilocular cystic renal cell carcinoma (MCRCC) classified according to 2004 WHO pathological diagnostic criteria. Methods According to the criteria, 40 patients were divided into two groups: MCRCC group and other subtypes of cystic renal cell carcinoma (CRCC). The CT findings were evaluated and compared between two groups for cystic content, wall, septum, nodularity, calcification and enhancement. ROC curve was used to determine the cut-off value of the possible CT feature which could distinguish MCRCC from other subtypes of CRCC. Results Seventeen cases of MCRCC group and 23 cases of CRCC group were included in this study according to the diagnostic criteria. MCRCC appeared as a well defined multilocular cystic mass with thin wall and sepia and no expansile solid nodules. Thickness of cystic wall and/or septum is was main CT findings to distinguish MCRCC from other subtypes of CRCC (P < 0.01 ). The cut-off value of the thickness was 6 mm and its sensibility, specificity was 89% ,75% respectively. Conclusion Cystic wall and/or septum with a thickness of less than 6 mm are the main CT findings to dis tinguish MCRCC from other subtypes of CRCC.

Objective To investigate the toxicity attenuation and efficacy potentiation effects of Shiquan Dabu Tang (SDT) on high dose chemotherapy in T739 mice with bladder carcinoma. Methods Mouse bladder carcinoma tissue was inoculated subcutaneously into T739 mice to establish tumor-beating mice model. The tumor-bearing mice were randomly divided into a CTX group (100, 200, 400 mg/Kg respectively), a SDT group (high or low dose respectively), a high-dose SDT combined with 200 mg/Kg CTX group and a control group. The body weight, diameter of tumor nodules and complete blood count were observed subsequently. Results Different doses of SDT could effectively inhibit tumor growth in mice. SDT + CTX treatment significantly prolonged the survival time of mice by 49.4±23.3 days (P<0.01, 0.05, 0.01), compared with high dose SDT treatment (17.4±5.77) days, 200 mg/kg CTX treatment (23±14.02) days and control group (11.75±2.06) days respectively. The peripheral platelet count increased more significantly in mice treated with SDT within a week as compared to mice without SDT treatment (P<0.05). The peripheral RBC count and liB concentration increased more significantly in mice treated with SDT for 2 weeks as compared to mice without SDT treatment (P<0.05). Conclusions SDT could enhance the anti-tumor effects of high dose CTX on tumor-bearing mice and reduce toxicity in its peripheral red blood cells. The results showed that SDT combined with high dose of CTX chemotherapy had toxicity attenuation and efficacy potentiation effects in tumor-beating T739 mice.
