1.Structural Classification and Functional Characterization ofShort-Chain Scorpion Toxic Peptides
Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics 2001;28(1):44-48
Recent research has revealed that scorpion venom contains short-chain peptides with the specificity on K+or C1-channels, in addition to the knowledge of many kinds of long-chain peptides with the specificity on Na+ channels. According to the similarity of molecular structure and/or function, they have been classified into several groups. These short-chain scorpion peptides are playing more and more important role in studying the structure and function of K+ or C1- channels. The advance of structure and function of short-chain scorpion peptides in recent years was briefly introduced.

Chinese Journal of Organ Transplantation 2010;31(1):18-20
Objective To compare the effectiveness and advantage of salvage liver transplantation post-resection with primary liver transplantation for HCC patients. Methods Medline, Embase, Cochrane, CBMdisc, CNKI and Wanfang Database were searched. Randomized and nonrandomized controlled trials comparing primary liver transplantation with salvage liver transplantation were analyzed. Ten retrospective studies involving 1115 patients were included. 164 received salvage liver transplantation, and 951 patients received primary liver transplantation. Results In most researches, the two groups of patients were similar for age, sex,and cirrhosis severity at time of transplantation. Some researches showed no difference in tumor size and number between the two groups. Few studies referred to microvascular invasion. Most of the researches showed there was no significant difference in blood loss, operative time, overall survival and disease-free survival between the two groups. Conclusion Compared to primary liver transplantation, salvage liver transplantation after liver resection is associated with similar operative time, risks and overall survival. Resection first and salvage liver transplantation for recurrent tumors or liver failure seem to be a feasible treatment strategy for hepatocelluar carcinoma, especially in early-stage.

Objective To investigate the clinical experiment of arthroscopically assisted debridement and tibiotalar arthrodesis with half-ring sulcated external fixator for treatment of total ankle joints tuberculosis. Methods From January 2001 to April 2005, 6 patients (4 males and 2 females), with a mean age of 33 years old (range, 28 to 44 years old) and mean duration of 13 months, received arthroscopically assisted debridement and tibiotalar arthrodesis with half-ring sulcated external fixator. All patients had received at least 3 weeks standard drug treatment for tuberculosis before the operation. After thoroughly debridement under arthroscopy using anterolateral and anteromedial approaches, a half-ring sulcated external fixator was used to fix the ankle joint at the neutral position. 4 days (2-7 days) after the operation, patients could walk with partially weight bearing. All patients replied to our questionnaire and the average follow-up was 21.3 months, with a range of 6-42 months. Patients returned for a clinical and radiolographic evaluation every week before the tibiotalar joints union. The external fixator apparatus were removed after the joint fused. Results Fusion occurred in all patients, the average time to clinical and radiographic union was 12.5 weeks (9-17 weeks). 3 patients were graded as excellent: no pain with a stable fusion. The others were graded as good: mild pain, occasional limp with a stable fusion. There were no sinus or other complications occurred. Conclusion There are considerable advantages using arthroscopically assisted debridement and tibiotalar arthrodesis with half-ring sulcated external fixator for treatment of total ankle joints tuberculosis without serious bone defect, include: limited invasion, quickly recovery, thoroughly debriding the tuberculose focus. And the half-ring sulcated external compression fixator could achieve stable and elastic fixation with adjustable rigidity. And patients can walk earlier to promote ankle fusion and decrease related complications.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1982;0(03):-
To investigate the mechanism of low responsiveness of cultured human intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) to LPS stimulation, IL-8 secretion level was detected by ELISA in supernatants harvested after the IECs were treated with LPS for 18h, and TLR4, TLR2, CD14 and MD2 mRNA were detected by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and RNase protection assay(RPA). It was found that IL-8 was not detectable after IECs were treated with LPS and the expression levels of TLR4, TLR2, CD14 and MD2 mRNA of IECs were low and after exposed to LPS, the expressions of TLR4, CD14 and MD2 mRNA of IECs became further lower, whereas the expression of TLR2 mRNA didn't change obviously. The result suggests that low expressions of LPS signal transduction-associated receptors on IECs may be responsible for low response of IECs to LPS, so it confirms further that TLR4, CD14 and MD2 play important roles in transmembrane LPS signal transduction.
