1.Research progress of cytokines in asthmatic airway remodeling and its regulation of traditional Chinese ;medicine
International Journal of Pediatrics 2015;(4):416-419
Airway remodeling is one of the main pathological changes of bronchial asthma. It has shown that a variety of cytokines, including chemokines, growth factors, matrix proteins, participate in and even strengthen airway remodeling through building complex signal transduction pathways. Many traditional Chinese medicines, such as shegan mahuang decoction, have a regulatory role in airway remodeling.
2.Mitochondria and aging
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(05):-
Aging is a complex pathological and physiological phenomenon characterized by the decline of many functions in human. Several lines of experimentation showed that the defect of the mitochondria function is one of the driving forces for the progress of aging. During the development of aging, the alteration of biology of mitochondria, the accumulation of the generation of "free radical"in mitochondria, the mutation in mitochondria genomes and the control of the progress of death by mitochondria were suggested to be a number of novel mechanisms for mitochondria in aging. The experiment data focused on the role of mitochondria in aging are reviewed.

Objective To assess the relationship between eosinophil count and intracranial aneurysm (IA).Methods For the retrospective study,we collected data of the count of eosinophils obtained from the peripheral blood samples and other clinical data of 79 patients with IA admitted to our hospital between January 2014 and December 2015 and 65 healthy people as control group.Risk factors for IA were analyzed by multivariate Logistics regression analysis. Results Clinical characteristics were comparable between the two groups (P>0.05).Compared with those in the control group, eosinophil and platelet counts in IA group were significantly higher [(0.18±0.12)109/L vs.(0.12±0.09)109/L;(196.44±57.33)109/L vs.(178.80±47.23)109/L,respectively;all P<0.05],while platelet distribution width (PDW) and mean platelet volume (MPV) were lower [(13.95 ± 3.332)fL vs.(15.30±3.5)fL;(11.02±1.73)fL vs.(11.66±1.31)fL,respectively;all P<0.05].Logistic regression analysis indicated that eosinophil was the independent risk factor for IA.Corclusion Our study demonstrated that increased eosinophil count is the independent risk factor for IA.

Objectives To explore the correlation between the heteroplasmy level of mt5178C>A mutation in ND2 gene of mitochondria DNA and essential hypertension(EH)in middle-aged and elderly adults. Methods EH patients and normotensive controls were recruited consecutively from 2014-2015 from general population.Demographics, clinical characteristics and blood leukocytes were collected. The mt5178C>A mutation heteroplasmy level was quantified by the rapid and sensitive realtime polymerase chain reaction(PCR) method for each participant. Results A total of 108 EH patients and 109 controls were recruited. The mt5178C>A mutation heteroplasmy level was(42 ± 11%)in EH patients and (54± 13)% in control subjects, with statistically significant difference between the two groups(P<0.01).Using a two-step cluster analysis, the mt5178C>A heteroplasmy level exceeding 44% was associated with a decreased risk of EH(OR=0.18,95%,CI:0.10-0.31,P<0.01).Correlation analysis showed mt5178C> A heteroplasmy level was significantly negatively correlated with both systolic blood pressure (r =-0.38,P< 0.001) and diastolic blood pressure (r =-0.49,P< 0.01)in 109 controls.Logistic regression analysis demonstrated that in single-factor analysis,mt5178C > A heteroplasmy level (OR =0.82,95 % CI:0.77 0.87,P < 0.01) was protective factor for EH,however,BMI(OR=1.30,95%CI:1.12-1.45,P<0.01),total cholesterol(OR=2.13,95%CI:1.39-3.28,P=0.00),triglyceride(OR=7.62,95%CI:3.45-16.84,P<0.01)and blood urea nitrogen(OR =1.35,95 % CI,P =0.03) were risk factors for EH.And a multiple logistic regression analysis showed that mt5178C> A heteroplasmy level (OR =0.83,95 % CI:0.78-0.89,P< 0.01) was independent protective factor for E H,however, only total cholesterol (OR =2.17,95 % CI:1.58-2.98,P =0.02) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (OR =0.06,95% CI:0.01-0.83,P =0.04) were independent risk factors for EH,and the P at critical 0.05 value. Conclusions Mitochondrial ND2 gene 5178C> A mutation heteroplasmy level exerts protective role against EH in middle-aged and elderly adults in Chinese population.

Objective To investigate the effect of continuous health education on the control of glucose and the changes of behavior. Methods One hundred and twenty-six newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients were randomly divided into control group and observation group, each group included 63 patients. The control group just received health education in hospitalization period, and the observation group received continuous health education both in and after hospitalization. The control of glucose and the changes of behavior were evaluated 3 months and 1 year later. Results After 3 months and 1 year treatment, the FPG,2hPG and HbA1c were significantly decreased compared to pre-treatment both in control group and observation group(P<0. 05). The FPG,2hPG and HbA1c were significantly decreased in the ob-servation group compared to the control groups(P<0. 05). The behaviors contained that mastery of diabetic knowledge, control of food in-take,persist in physical exercise, rational administration, self-monitoring of blood glucose and regular reexamination were significantly im-proved both in control group and observation group compared to pre-treatment (P<0. 05),and the behaviors were significantly improved in the observation group compared to the control group (P<0. 05). Conclusion Compared to control group, observation group had more ad-vantages in the control of glucose and the changes of behavior in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients.

Objective:To explore the feasibility and stability of using oleic acid to establish acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS) model in Beagle dogs. Methods:A total of 25 Beagle dogs were injected oleic acid with a speed of 0.25?0.03ml/Kg through jugular vein after being anesthetized. The gas ventilation index, oxygen metabolism, histopathological changes,chest-ray scan and stability of each index after establishing the ARDS situation were continuously monitored and evaluated. Results:All 25 dogs were reached the diagnosis criteria of ARDS in 4.16?0.92 hours after injection of oleic acid,The arterial PaCO2 of the animals was 27.98?8.25mmHg,PaO2 was 65.40?11.48mmHg,and PaO2/FiO2 was 182.3?29.6.After mechanical ventilation treatment,PaO2/FiO2≤200.Pulmonary mesenchyme, and alveolus edema, bleeding, shrinkage and transparent formation were seen under microscope. There was darkness or coarse shadow in the lung by the X-ray scan. Conclusions:Through injection of oleic acid via jugular vein,a Beagle dog ARDS model may be quickly established with stable changes of hemodynamics, pulmonary mechanics and histology.
