Objective To determine the contents of strychnine and brucine in Xiaobining Spray.Methods A HPLC method was adopted and the chromatogram conditions were as follows:column of Kromasil C18(4.6 mm? 250 mm,5 ? m),mobile phase consisting of acetonitrile-0.01 mol/L sodium heptanesulfonate and 0.02 mol/L potassium dihydrogen phosphate equivalent volume mixture(10 % phosphoric acid adjusting pH to 2.8)(21:79),column temperature of 30 ℃,flow rate of 1.0 mL/min,detection wavelength of 260 nm.Results A good linearity was obtained form 0.109 2 ? g to 0.546 0 ? g for brucine(r=0.999 6)and 0.173 6 ? g to 0.868 0 ? g for strychnine(r=0.999 7).The average recovery of brucine was 100.59 % with RSD being 1.81 %,and of strychnine was 100.83 % with RSD being 1.69 % .Conclusion This method is simple,reproducible,and can be used to determine the strychnine and brucine in Xiaobining Spray.
