Journal of Practical Radiology 2014;(6):951-953
Objective To evaluate MRI features of tubal ovarian cysts,to improve the understanding of its imaging characters. Methods 1 5 patients with tubal ovarian cysts proved by pathology and surgery were analyzed retrospectively. Results Among the 1 5 cases with cysts,9 cases were solitary lesions, including the right side of the attachment area in 5 cases and the left side of the at-tachment area in 4 cases.6 cases were multiple lesions located on both sides. The diameters of these cysts were from 3.8 cm to 1 1.0 cm,and average diameter was 5.6 cm.All cases showed that the cysts were round, communicated with fallopian tube. All tubals showed different degrees of expansion. The signals of the cysts showed hypointense on T1 WI and hyperintense on T2 WI.The signals in two cases were complex. After contrast medium administration, the walls of the cysts could be enhanced with different de-grees.Conclusion MRI is useful in displaying the morphology, signal and the wall of the tubal ovarian cysts.
2.Effect of 5-Aminosalicylic Acid on Cell Proliferation,Apoptosis and Cell Cycle in Human Colon Cancer Cell Line HT-29
Chinese Journal of Gastroenterology 2015;(3):132-137
Background:Ulcerative colitis-associated colorectal cancer(UcCRC)is the most serious complication of ulcerative colitis(UC). 5-Aminosalicylic acid(5-ASA)could reduce the risk of UC progressing to UcCRC. Aims:To investigate the effect of 5-ASA on cell proliferation, apoptosis and cell cycle in human colon cancer cell line HT-29 for verifying the inhibitory effect of 5-ASA on UcCRC. Methods:HT-29 cells were treated with different concentrations(0,10,20,30, 40 mmol/ L)of 5-ASA. Cell proliferation was measured by CCK-8 assay. Cell apoptosis was determined by TUNEL method. Cell cycle was analyzed by flow cytometry. Expressions of cell mitotic regulators AuroraB and BubR1 were determined by immunohistochemistry. Results:Proliferation inhibition rates and apoptosis rates of HT-29 cells in 5-ASA 10,20,30,40 mmol/ L groups were increased with increase in concentration of 5-ASA(P ﹤ 0. 05). Proportions of cells in phase G0 / G1 in 5-ASA 30,40 mmol/ L groups were significantly lower than those in 5-ASA 0,10,20 mmol/ L groups (P ﹤ 0. 05);proportions of cells in phase S in 5-ASA 0,10,20,30 mmol/ L groups were significantly lower than that in 5-ASA 40 mmol/ L group(P ﹤ 0. 05);while proportions of cells in phase G2 / M in 5-ASA 30,40 mmol/ L groups were significantly higher than those in 5-ASA 0,10,20 mmol/ L groups(P ﹤ 0. 05). Mean optical density(MOD)values of AuroraB and BubR1 were decreased with increase in concentration of 5-ASA(P ﹤ 0. 05). Concentration of 5-ASA was positively correlated with proliferation inhibition rate and apoptosis rate of HT-29 cells(P ﹤ 0. 05),but was negatively correlated with MOD values of AuroraB and BubR1( P ﹤ 0. 05). MOD values of AuroraB and BubR1 were negatively correlated with proliferation inhibition rate and apoptosis rate of HT-29 cells as well as proportion of cells in phase G2/ M (P ﹤0. 05),but were positively correlated with proportion of cells in phase G0/ G1(P ﹤0. 05). MOD value of AuroraB was positively correlated with MOD value of BubR1(P ﹤ 0. 05). Conclusions:5-ASA can inhibit proliferation and induce apoptosis in HT-29 cells, the mechanism may be related to inhibiting expressions of AuroraB and BubR1 and the resulted effect on cell cycle.

Objective To study the classification, management and outcome of the injury of hamatometacarpal joint. Methods Retrospective analysis was carried out in 17 patients with injury of hamatometacarpal joint. There were 16 males and 1 female aged 19-51 years old. 3 in left hand and 14 in right hand were injuried. The dominant hands of all were right hand. The injury of hamatometacarpal joint might be classified into 4 major groups based on the condition of the hamate, and subdivided into 2 subtypes based on the isolated dislocation(subluxation) or fracture-dislocation of metacarpal base. Carpometacarpal joint ligment injury without fracture of hamatum and the fourth or fifth metacarpal base dislocation without fracture was defined as typeⅠa. When there was a fracture of the fourth or fifth metacarpal base following typeⅠa was defined as typeⅠb. Avulsion fracture of the back of hamatum and the fourth and/or the fifth metacarpal base dislocation without fracture was defined as type Ⅱa. With the fracture of the fourth or fifth metacarpal base following the typeⅡa was defined as type Ⅱb. Splintered fracture of the back of hamatum with the fourth and/or fifth metacarpal base dislocation without fracture was defined as typeⅢa. With the fracture of metacarpal base following typeⅢa was defined as typeⅢb. The split fracture of coronal side of hamatum with the fourth and/or fifth metacarpal base dislocation and without fracture was defined as type Ⅳa. With fracture of the fourth and/or fifth metacarpal base following type Ⅳa was defined as type Ⅳb. There were 7 typeⅠb, 2 typeⅡa, 1 typeⅡb, 2 typeⅢb, 1 typeⅣa, 4 type Ⅳb in our group. We chose conservative or operative treatment according to the type of injury. Results The follow-up was 4-96 months. The patients had fracture union rate of 100%, and no traumatic osteoarthritis was occurred. There was a statistical significance when the motion of two-side joints was compared post surgery. There was no significant difference between bilateral hand in grip strength. Subjective evaluations of the patients were good or excellent. No complications was occurred. There is no case involved in any complications such as traumatic arthrositis, inflammation, neural injuries and adhesion of tendon. Conclusion The stable injury of hamatometacarpal joint should be ideally treated by closed reduction and immobilization in a well-moulded cast or splint. Satisfactory outcome can be got if keeping under strict surveillance. The unstable or intra-articular fracture should be treated by surgery. The outcome is also satisfactory and the rate of the complication of traumatic arthritis is low in short period follow-up. The outcome of fresh injury is much better than old one.

Objective To explore the impact of silver ions on the adhesion ability of Bacillus Calmette-Gueri vaccine on silicone tube surface. Methods Common and silver plated silicone tubes were cultured in BCG bacterial liquid for 30 days. A gas-bacilli was taken once every 3 days to measure OD value of microbial. The growth curve of BCG vaccine was made. The corresponding silicone tubes in divided different generations was removed and eluted based on the division cycle of BCG vaccine. The samples were inoculated on the solid medium for observing the colony growth amount, and adhesion curve was drawn. The silicone tube colony line was observed under the electron microscope at day 30. Results OD value and bacterial plaque number were less in silver silicone tube group than in common silicone tube group, with statistical significances (P < 0.05). Electron microscopy also showed that BCG adhesion on silver silicone tube group was relatively less than that on common silicone tube group. Conclusion Silver ions can reduce the adhesion of BCG vaccine on silicone tube surface and inhibit the growth of BCG vaccine.
