3.Mild moxibustion plus loratadine tablets for children with allergic rhinitis: a randomized controlled trial
Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2021;19(6):419-424
Objective: To explore the efficacy of mild moxibustion plus loratadine tablets for children with allergic rhinitis (AR).Methods: A total of 80 children were randomized into a control group and an observation group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with loratadine tablets, and the observation group was treated with mild moxibustion plus loratadine tablets. Before and after treatment, the total nasal symptom score (TNSS) was evaluated, and the serum eosinophils (EOS) count, and the interleukin (IL)-27 and macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) levels were measured. Clinical efficacy was evaluated after treatment. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the TNSS in both groups decreased (P<0.05), and the TNSS in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05); the serum EOS count in both groups decreased (P<0.05), and the serum EOS count in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The serum IL-27 level in the control group had no statistical difference compared with the same group before treatment (P>0.05), and the serum MIF level decreased after treatment (P<0.05). The serum IL-27 level in the observation group increased after treatment (P<0.05), and the serum MIF level decreased after treatment (P<0.05), and were both statistically different from those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Mild moxibustion plus loratadine tablets is effective in treating children with AR. It can significantly improve the nasal symptoms and reduce the serum EOS count, which may be related to the regulation of the serum IL-27 and MIF levels.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2009;13(39):7759-7762
OBJECTIVE: To analyze the influencing factor, as well as rehabilitation method after total knee replacement.METHODS: Chinese Journal Full-text Database and PubMed database were retrieved with key words of artificial knee joint, athroplasty, and rehabilitation, from January 1999 to June 2009. The literature search was restricted to Chinese and English languages. The evaluation indexes were the knee range of movement, function, muscle strength, and joint stability. Accordingly, clinical research concerning rehabilitation treatment of total knee replacement was included, and the animal experiment was excluded.RESULTS: A total of 492 literatures were obtained by initial search with computer. On the basis of inclusion criteria, the related papers were analyzed. Rehabilitation training after total knee replacement includes pain control, joint activity training, strength training, proprioceptive training and walking training. Knee movement range was one of the important indicators in evaluating total knee replacement, which was also the most important component in the knee-rating system. Pain reduced and normal walking function was important to observe the therapeutic effects after total knee replacement. Strength training was an important part of rehabilitation training, early rehabilitation not only can regain the muscle strength, but also can promote blood circulation and prevent deep vein thrombosis of lower limbs.CONCLUSION: Rehabilitation training can restore muscle strength, joint activity and walking ability as quickly as possible, and control pain greatly, which influence therapeutic effects of replacement.
5.Clinical observation of auricular point sticking combined with western medicine for preventing and treating postoperative complications of external excision and internal ligation on mixed hemorrhoid.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2015;35(3):237-240
OBJECTIVETo explore the effect of auricular point sticking before operation for postoperative complications of external excision and internal ligation on mixed hemorrhoid.
METHODSEighty patients with mixed hemorrhoid were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, 40 cases in each group. In the control group, paracetamol and dihydrocodeine tartrate tablets were applied with oral administration 1 h after operation, 510 mg each time, twice a day; at the same time, diosmin tablets were treated with oral administration, 0.9 g each time, twice a day. Three days' treatments were required successively. In the observation group, auricular point sticking was used before operation based on the treatment in the control group. The auricular points of Shen (Co10), Pangguang (CO9), Shenmen (TF4), Pizhixia (AT4), Jiaogan (AH6a) and Gangmen (HX5) were selected. The patients were asked to press the points 3-6 times per day, 3-5 min each time, 3 days' treatment in total. The scores of the postoperative complications in the 1st and the 2nd days were compared between the two groups such as pain, edema, hematochezia, retention of urine, etc.
RESULTSAfter operation, the scores of pain, edema, hematochezia, retention of urine in the 2nd day were all decreased obviously than those in the 1st day in the two groups (all P<0.05); and the scores of pain, edema, hematochezia, retention of urine in the 1st and the 2nd days of the observation group were lower than those in the control group (all P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONAuricular point sticking before operation combined with conventional western medicine with oral administration for preventing and treating postoperative complications of external excision and internal ligation on mixed hemorrhoid achieves positive and reliable efficacy.

8.Professor Yu Hai-bo's clinical experience in treating acute attack of hemorrhoids with acupuncture-moxibustion
Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2018;16(1):28-32
Hemorrhoid refers to soft vein mass formed by varicosity of submucosal veins around the end of the rectum and subcutanceous veins of the anal canal. It is the most common anorectal disease. This article summarized the regular patterns, features and advantages of Professor Yu Hai-Bo's acupuncture-moxibustion therapy for hemorrhoids, in order to guide the acupuncture treatment for hemorrhoids.

Chinese Journal of Organ Transplantation 1996;0(04):-
By establishing experimental modal of laryngeal allograft, the short-term histopathological changes of liver and kidney in Cyclosporine A (CsA)-treated rats receiving laryn- geal allograft were observed. The animals were divided into 3 groups.Group 1 was given CsA 15 mg?kg~(-1)/d by daily intraperitoneal injection for 2 weeks,Group 2 received CsA 25 mg?kg~(-1)/d, and the third group without CsA treatment served as control. All of recipients were sacrificed 14 days after transplantation.Histological examination showed that CsA nephrotoxicity was charac- terized by abundant vacuolation of the proximal tubular epithelium cells, hyaline regeneration of arterioles with thickening of vascular wall, and striped interstitial fibrosis and its hepatotoxicity by fatty degeneration with mild hyperplasia of Kupffer's cells and focal necrosis of hepatocytes. Histopathological changes of CsA-induced hepato- and nephrotoxicity of the recipients were closely correlated to the dosage of CsA received.
