The preventive effects of starch-Fe and sucrose-Fe on iron deficiency anemia were investigated. Weaning rats were used as experimental animal, and divided into starch-Fe, sucrose-Fe, ferrous sulfate and control group. The former 3 groups were set for the Fe deficiency preventive group and each animal received elemental iron 5-6mg per kg body weight per day according to its preparation demand orally. The control group was given ordinary diet only. After 24-day feeding with its experimental diet serum iron(SI), serum ferritin (SF) and hemoglobin (Hb) of the animal were measured. The results revealed that SI (?g/dl) was 111.08 ? 22.30,118.64?26.80, 136.81?54.36 and 83.44?22.60; SF (ng/ml) was 12.69?3.19, 14.52?1.98, 16.91?2.02 and 7.51?2.09; Hb (g/dl) was 10.71?0.63, 10.96 ?0.45, 11.01?0.84 and 8.46 ? 1.27 respectively. This suggested that the starch-Fe and sucrose-Fe could be well absorbed and probably favorable to rescue children from iron deficiency anemia.

Objective To observe the effects of acupuncture therapy with finger on back-shu point on acid reflux and lower esophageal sphincter pressure (LESP) of the patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Methods Totally 120 patients of GERD were randomly divided into treatment group and control group through random number table method, 60 cases in each group. Patients in the treatment group were treated with the acupuncture therapy with finger on back-shu point, and patients in control group were treated with lansoprazole tablets and dispersible mosapride citrate for two weeks. Total percentage of acid reflux time, the long time acid reflux episodes, and the longest acid reflux time of two groups were observed six months after the treatment. At the same time, the LESP variation of two groups was followed up six months after the treatment. Results The total percentage of acid reflux time, the long time acid reflux episodes, and the longest acid reflux time decreased significantly in all patients after treatment (P<0.01), while the comparison between groups showed no significant difference (P>0.05). After treatment, LESP of two groups was significantly improved (P<0.05) than before treatment. After stopping treatment half a year, the treatment group had obvious difference (P<0.05) compared with before treatment, while the control group had no significant difference (P>0.05). Conclusion The acupuncture therapy with finger on back-shu point can reduce acid reflux, and achieve the goal of treatment of GERD by improving the lower esophageal sphincter pressure. The duration of improving LESP is longer.

Objective:To compare the fully covered self-expanding metal stents (FCSEMS) and multiple plastic stents (MPS) in the effectiveness, safety and cost-effectiveness for benign bile duct strictures. Methods:A single-center retrospective study was conducted to analyze the clinical data of 107 patients with benign biliary strictures who underwent FCSEMS or MPS implantation through endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) in Hangzhou First People's Hospital from January 2013 to June 2019.There were 54 cases in group FCSEMS and 53 cases in group MPS. Benign biliary stricture was confirmed by computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) and endoscopic ultrasonography. The primary index was the rate of stricture remission, and the secondary indices were the incidence of stricture recurrence, ERCP-related complications, the rate of stent migration, hospital stay and charges. Results:The median follow-up times were 10.0 (6.5, 18.0) months and 12.0 (9.0, 20.0) months in group FCSEMS and in group MPS respectively ( P>0.05). The rates of stricture remission in the two groups were 87.0% (47/54) and 83.0% (44/53), the incidences of stricture recurrence were 14.6% (6/41) and 23.5% (8/34), and the incidences of ERCP-related complications were 14.8% (8/54) and 11.9% (13/109), respectively. And the differences were not statistically significant (all P>0.05). But the stent migration rates of the two groups were 22.9% (11/54) and 2.8% (3/109) with significant difference ( P<0.001). Cost-effectiveness analysis showed that the median numbers of ERCP intervention in the two groups were 2 (2,2) times and 3 (2,4) times ( P<0.001), and the median hospital stays were 6.0 (4.0,11.0) days and 9.0 (6.5,16.0) days respectively ( P=0.009). The median hospitalization expenses of the two groups were 44 646 yuan and 51 355 yuan without significant difference ( P>0.05). Conclusion:The effectiveness, safety and cost of FCSEMS for benign bile duct stenosis are similar to those of MPS, but it reduces ERCP intervention and treatment cycles. Even with a certain migration rate, it can still be a first-line treatment approach.

Objective:To investigate the feasibility and advantages of unilateral primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) treated by transthyretal interosseous muscle approach surgery. Methods:Clinical data of 7 patients with unilateral PHPT treated by interstitial sternocleidomastoid muscle approach from Jan. 2021 to Feb. 2022 in the thyroid surgery of China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University were retrospectively analyzed, including preoperative blood calcium concentration, operation time, incision length, intraoperative parathyroid hormone (PTH) , blood calcium concentration and PTH value in the first month after surgery, abnormal sensation of the skin in the anterior cervical area, etc. The feasibility and advantages of interstitial sternocleidomastoid muscle approach surgery for unilateral PHPT were analyzed. Results:All 7 patients with unilateral PHPT were operated successfully. The PTH was 17.2-63.3 pg/ml on recheck 1 month after surgery, which were all within the normal range. The time from skin opening to resection of the diseased parathyroid gland was 20-35 min, and the length of the surgical incision was 3-4 cm. all patients were given intravenous and oral calcium therapy after surgery, and the blood calcium and PTH levels were within the normal range at 3-12 months of follow-up; the incision recovered well, and there was no significant sensory and functional abnormalities in the anterior neck area. Conclusion:The treatment of unilateral PHPT through the sternocleidomastoid interosseous approach can ensure the safety and efficacy of the operation while better protecting the sensory and motor functions of the anterior cervical region and improving the aesthetics of the surgical incision.

Biliary atresia is a rare infant disease that predisposes patients to liver transplantation and death if not treated in time. However, early diagnosis is challenging because the clinical manifestations and laboratory tests of biliary atresia overlap with other cholestatic diseases. Therefore, it is very important to develop a simple, safe and reliable method for the early diagnosis of biliary atresia. Herein, a novel NIR-II fluorescence probe, HZL2, with high quantum yield, excellent biocompatibility, low cytotoxicity and rapid excretion through the liver and gallbladder was developed based on the oil/water partition coefficient and permeability. A simple fecal sample after injection of HZL2 can be used to efficiently identify the success of the mouse model of biliary atresia for the first time, allowing for an early diagnosis of the disease. This study not only developed a simple and safe method for the early diagnosis of biliary atresia with great potential in clinical translation but also provides a research tool for the development of pathogenesis and therapeutic medicines for biliary atresia.
