OBJECTIVE: To study the influence of Xuanfeijiedu granules on trace elements, immunoglobulin E (IgE), eosinophil cationic protein (ECP) of allergic rhinitis. METHOD: One hundred and ten cases of allergic rhinitis ere randomly divided into two groups, 55 cases of the observation group were treated with budesonide, 55 cases of the control group were treated with Xuanfeijiedu granules, the treatment efficacy and serum trace elements, IgE, ECP level were observed. RESULT: The total effective rate of observation group and control group were 92. 7% and 96. 4%, there was no significant difference between two groups (P>0. 05). Before treatment, the serum zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), manganese (Mn) and IgE, ECP levels of two groups were compared, there was no significant difference (P>0. 05); after treatment, the serum Zn level was significantly increased, the serum Cu, Mn, IgE, ECP levels were significantly reduced, and the observation group changed more significantly, there were significant differences between two groups (P<. 05). CONCLUSION Xuanfeijiedu granules in the treatment of allergic rhinitis can significantly improve the patient's serum trace elements and IgE, ECP levels, improve the state of patient's disease, and promote the rehabilitation of patients.

Objective To investigate the role of tracheotomy in children with severe hand foot and mouth disease.Methods Eight children with severe hand foot and mouth disease collected from July 2009 to August 2011 in PICU were retrospectively reviewed.Clinical manifestation and laboratory data were analyzed and followed up.Results Eight patients were enterovirus 71 (EV71) positive.Hormones,intravenous immune globulin,mechanical ventilation and vasodilators had been administered in patients with cardiopulmonary failure.They had severe neurologic sequelae,requiring prolonged intubation.MRI imaging of 7 cases showed abnormal brainstem,pons and medulla oblongata,1 case showed swelling of brain tissue.A total of 8 patients underwent a tracheotomy in mean (25.63 ± 8.86) d.The older was 22 months,the younger was 8 months and the mean age was (13.13 ±4.22) months.Four cases died,the other survived.Two cases were successfully decannulation,the other two were still in the tracheotomy.Conclusion Tracheostomy play an active role in reducing airway resistance,clearing airway secretions,providing the opportunity for subsequent rehabilitation.Eight patients were followed up for three years,neurological sequelae could not be restored.Four cases repeatedly suffer from pneumonia,atelectasis,leading to a serious decline in quality of life.

Tick-borne encephalitis ( TBE) is a well-known central nervous system ( CNS) infection in children. The disease in children is generally milder,although severe illness may occur and even lead to perma-nent impairment of the quality of life due to neuropsychological sequelae. We review the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of tick-borne encephalitis,and summarise biological and virological aspects that are impor-tant for understanding the life-cycle and transmission of the virus. Tick-borne encephalitis virus is a flavivirus that is transmitted by ixodes persulcatus. Tick-borne encephalitis causes acute meningoencephalitis. The serologi-cal diagnosis is usually straightforward. No specific treatment for the disease exists,and immunisation is the main preventive measure.

Objective To investigate the association between the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-or (PPARα) polymorphism rs1800206 (c.484C ＞ G,L162V) and the risk of metabolic syndrome (MES)Methods There were 1184 subjects aged 40-60 years recruited from our hospital between March 2010 and March 2011.The PPARα polymorphism 484C ＞ G was genotyped using TAQMAN assay by real-time PCR. The relationship between PPARα polymorphism and MES risk were investigated.Results The genotype frequencies were 91.4％,8.4％ and 0.2％ for the PPARα CC,CG and GG,respectively.This SNP was in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium(P =0.845).Compared with the most common CC genotype,the variant genotypes(CG + GG) had higher fasting glucose((5.82 ± 1.59) mmol/L vs (5.49 ± 1.17) mmol/L,t =2.630,P =0.009) and LDL-C levels((3.53 ± 1.03) mmol/L vs (3.36 ± 0.65) mmol/L,t =2.376,P =0.018) and lower HDL-C levels ((1.56 ± 0.35) mmol/L vs (1.65 ± 0.43) mmol/L,t =2.430,P =0.015).Furthermore,the 484G variant genotypes(CG + GG)was associated with the risk of MES after adjusting for age,gender,education,BMI and lifestyle (smoking and alcohol status) (adjusted OR =1.89 ;95％ CI =1.09-3.23,P =0.012).Condusion PPARα polymorphism rs1800206 is a significant independent predictor of the MES in Southern Chinese.

Objective Through observing the changes of serum creatinine (Scr),blood urea nitrogen (BUN),and Cystatin C (Cys C) to prove whether the treatment of patients of diabetic nephropathy (DN) in V period with Jiawei-qidan-tangshen decoction is really effective.Methods 60 patients of DN in V period were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group by random number table method,with 30 patients in each group.Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c),serum creatinine (Scr),blood urea nitrogen (BUN),and Cystatin C (Cys C) were detected before and after the treatment.Results 12 weeks after treatment,Scr,Cys C (19.19±37.06) μmol/L,(1.81 ±0.69)mg/L had significantly declined in the treatment group (P＜0.001),and had no significant change (147.25±62.70)μmol/L,(2.04± 1.20)mg/L in the control group (P＞0.05).Total effective rate of Scr and Cys C was 73.33％ and 83.33％ in the treatment group and 40％ and 53.33％ in the control group respectively,both showing significant difference (P＜0.05).Conclusion It is effective to treat patients of DN in V period with,Jiawei-qidan-tangshen decoction,and have no obvious side effects.

[Objective]To explore the method of rehabilitation for serious open injury below knee.[Method]A fotal of 153 cases with serious open injury below knee were treated.In which 106 cases were primary repair,47cases were second repair,treated with 7 kinds of internal fixation methods,11 kinds of flap.[Result]A fotal of 132 cases were followed up from 6 months to 5 years after operation,the average time was 17 months,the postoperative satisfaction rate was 85.7%,the flap survival rate was good 25 cases with local necrosis,4 cases with non-union,8 cases with chronic infection,3 cases with osteomyelitis.[Conclusion]The improvement of the flaps enlarge the application and reduce the complication of the flaps.The study offer a reasonable method to repair serious open injury below knee.The proficiency microsurgical scissors and reasonable application of various tissue flaps was the key to repair the injury successfully.

Objective To research the value of dynamic CT enhancement in diagnosing lung cancer.Methods 35 patients with benign disease and 25 patients with lung cancer underwent dynamic CT scan,the results of CT were analysed in comparison with that of pathological specimens,the relationship between the dynamic CT enhancement phenomena and histological results.Results CT enhanced peak,the enhanced ratio of focus and aorta,the form of enhancement and time-dense curve were different between two groups.CT enhanced peak was related to the histological types and clinical stages of pulmonary cacinoma,and metastasis of lymph nodes.Conclusion Dynamic CT enhanced scan can reflect the characteristic of blood in lung cancer.The invasion and metastasis in lung carcinoma can be predicted according to the CT enhanced peak.

Objective To research the relationship between the expression of cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),microvessel density(MVD)and the CT appearances of lung cancer.Methods CT scans were performed respectively in 35 patients with benign disease and 25 patients with lung cancer confirmed pathology.The immunohistochemistry of all pathologic specimen was analysed using P-V method.The relationship between the expression of COX-2,VEGF,MVD and the CT appearances,histological types,clinic stages,lymph nodes metastasis of lung cancer was evaluated.Results The expression level of COX-2,VEGF,and MVD in lung carcinoma was(64.8?13.8)%,(76.4?14.1)% and(62.5?14.6)/HP respectively,it was higher than that in the lung benign disease group.The level of expression of COX-2,VEGF and MVD was closely related to the CT appearances,histological types,clinic stages and lymph nodes metastasis of lung cancer,but there was no relationship with differentiation of carcinoma.Conclusion COX-2,VEGF and MVD may be important molecular biological predictors in diagnosing lung cancer early and can evaluate prognosis of patients with lung cancer.CT appearances can reflect the vascular characteristics of lung cancer,and can predict the involvement,metastasis and prognosis of lung carcinoma according to the appearances of CT.
