Objective: To make an artificial trachea, which can really healed with native trachea. Methods: 20 dogs are randomized into a pedicle group and a nonpedicle group. 6 cm cervical trachea was resected and replaced with "sandwich" artificial trachea made from memory alloy meshes by two-stage operative procedure. Survival period and stenosis of anastomosis were recorded. Results: Seven dogs in pedicle group survived well and another three were dead. The cause of death was anastomosis stricture in 1 and infection in 2. All dogs in nonpedicle group were dead within four weeks because of stenosis or infection. Conclusion: Two-stage operative pedicle "sandwich" artificial trachea made from memory alloy mesh is up to now the closest artificial trachea to human native trachea. It could be applied clinically.

Objective To explore the indications, feasibility and clinical outcome of minimally invasive laminoplasty for cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) using microendoscopic technique. Methods From January 2011 to December 2013,51 patients with CSM treated by this technique in our hospital were reviewed in this study. All these patients were followed up at least 9 months. There were 28 males and 23 females with a mean age of 58 years (range 41-76 years). All patients were found to have cervical disc herniation with spinal cord compression.Among these patients,2 segments (C5-6),3 segments (C3-5/C4-6),4 segments (C3 -6) and 5 segments (C3-7) laminoplasty performed in 5,7,22 and 17 cases respectively.Therapy effect and axial symptom were evaluated according to Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) scores and visual analogue scales (VAS) respectively.Cervical curvature index (CCI) and range of motion (ROM) were judged by X-ray.The sagittal diameter of cervical spine, canal enlargement and bony healing were judged by CT scans.Spinal cord signal intensity changes and spinal cord decompression status judged by MRI.Statistical analysis of JOA score,VAS score,CCI and ROM were performed by paired design t test. Results The mean operative time was (1 15±21.9) min, ranging 58-139 min.The mean blood loss was (227.8±73.2) ml,ranging 110-380 ml.The followe-up time ranged 9-36 months with an average of (20±5.9) months..The mean JOA scores had improved from 8.02± 1.69 pre-operatively to 13.02± 1.48 post-operatively.The results were excellent in 17 cases, good in 28 and fair in 4.The VAS scores of axial pain significantly improved to 2.22±0.90 at the final follow-up compared with 4.96± 1.39 preoperatively.Axial symptom were excellent in 18 cases, good in 21 and fair in 12.Pre-operative was 15.40%±4.50% and postoperative was 15.09%±4.87%,there was no significant difference.ROM of pre-operative was 40.98°±8.27° and postoperative was 38.88°±9.53°,and there was no significant difference. The sagittal diameter of the spinal canal increased 1.3-3.2 mm postoperatively with an average of (2.32±0.42) mm.A total of 204 vertebral lamina were bilaterally slotted and fixed.146 lamina were observed bone healing at the last follow-up.The bone healing rate was 71.6%.Complications such as upper limb motion dysfunction occurred in 1 case muscle strength restored after treatment of methylprednisolone sodium succinate, and little screw looseness in occurred 1 case, and non special treatment was given..Conclusion CMEL is a newsurgical approache which causes less damage to the spinous process-ligament complex and the deep extensor muscles, and the procedure can be used for CSM effectively and safely.

Objective To evaluate a new method for the isolation of rat pancreatic stellate cells (PSCs) and to investigate the influence of adipose derived stem cells (ADSCs) on PSCs in vitro. Methods Normal rat PSCs was isolated by collagenase and Optiprep density gradient centrifugation. The coculture system of ADSCs and PSCs was set up by transwell insert. The proliferation of PSCs was tested by CCK-8 test kit.Smoothmuscle α-actin (α-SMA) expression of PSCs were tested by Western blot. The apoptosis of HSCs was tested by flow cytometer. The cytokines in the culture solution were tested by ELISA kit. Results The quantity of PSCs was above 5 × 106 cells per rat.The purity and the viability of the cells were about 90-97 percent. After coculture for 72 h,the proliferation and activation of PSCs was inhibited by ADSCs (F =223.27,P < 0.05 ; F =52.97,P < 0.05) and the apoptosis of PSCs was promoted by ADSCs (F =43.62,P < 0.05).more NGF and less TGF-β1 was secreted by ADSCs than by PSCs (NGF:14.68 ± 0.94 vs.8.31 ±0.86,t =4.67,P <0.05;TGF-β1:10.65 ±0.46 vs.70.47 ±0.99,t =21.72,P<0.01).Conclusions ADSCs inhibit the proliferation and activation of PSCs by ADSCs secreting cytokines.

Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 2010;26(6):466-469
In line with the new WHO definition for health and reference of comprehensive health assessments of elderly overseas, the paper screened and set the weight for comprehensive health assessment indicators for military officers, establishing a general health assessment model as a result 402 military officers were subject to Comprehensive Health Assessments, and the outcomes were compared with subjective assessment of experts. The results of both methods are highly coincidental. It proves Comprehensive Health Assessment as a scientific quantitative health assessment method, with promising perspectives in health management in the future.

Objective To investigate the popularization of cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)knowledge and science popularization needs among urban and rural residents in Tonghai County,Yuxi City,Yunnan Province,so as to explore the establishment of an efficient and appropriate science popularization model. Methods A total of 300 residents aged 15-60 years old were selected from Tonghai County,Yuxi City,Yunnan Province using stratified and simple random sampling methods.A self-designed questionnaire was used to conduct an anonymous questionnaire survey. Results Only 20.3%of Tonghai County residents master CPR skills, and 26.2%of Tonghai County residents have never heard of CPR.There is a statistically significant difference in the awareness rate of CPR between rural residents and non-rural residents(P<0.01).There are differences in residents'age and CPR awareness(P<0.01),the age and CPR are inversely proportional. The residents have a higher willingness to perform chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on strangers,66.2%and 68.6%respectively.63.79%of residents have never attended relevant training. But 92.76%of the people said they were willing to participate in the relevant training when they learned the training news. Conclusion Residents in Tonghai County generally lack knowledge of CPR first aid,but the demand for first aid knowledge of residential CPR is high and the attitude towards rescue is positive. It is recommended that relevant departments increase CPR science popularization and training efforts, and popularize CPR into villages.
