Objective To explore the CT and MR features of cystic nephroma. Methods CT and MRI findings of 8 patients with cystic nephroma comfirmed surgically and pathologically were analyzed retrospectively. Results In all 8 patients, cystic nephromas were unilateral and solitary, and diameter of lesions was 2.92-7.81 cm. The CT and MR scans showed multilocular cystic lesion with clear border. These locules did not communicate with each other. The septa were intact and smooth, and showed slight to moderate and gradual enhancement. The interlocular septa were demonstrated clearly on coronal T2WI, and showed hypointensity signals. The intracapsular liquids were heterogenous in 4 patients on MR images. The CT scanning showed a patchy calcification in 1 case. Histopathology proved that the capsule and septa of the lesions were lined by cuboidal or flattened epitheial cells, of which hemosiderin depositions were presented in 4 patients. Conclusion CT and MR are valuable in the diagnosis of cystic nephroma, and MRI can reflect the pathology of cystic nephroma more clearly, and supply the accurate reference information for diagnosis.

Objective To compare the effect of different needle-retaining time on post-stroke hypermyotonia in acupuncture treatment.Method Ninety patients with post-stoke hypermyotonia were randomized into group A, group B, and group C, 30 in each group. The three groups were all treated by the twelve hand-foot needling method from the thirteen therapies invented by acupuncture master WANG Le-ting, once a day, 5 times a week, 20 times in total. For group A, needles were removed right after needling qi arrived; for group B, needles were retained for 30 min after needling qi arrived; for group C, needles were retained for 60 min after needling qi arrived. The modified Ashworth Scale (MAS), Clinical Spasticity Index (CSI), and Fugl-Meyer assessment scale (FAS) were adopted for observation before and after intervention.Result After treatment, the MAS was significantly changed in all three groups (P<0.05). The CSI score and FAS score of the affected limb were significantly changed in all three groups after intervention (P<0.05). Both group A and B were significantly different from group C in comparing the CSI and FAS scores (P<0.05).Conclusion Compared to retaining needles for 60 min, acupuncture without retaining needles or retaining needles for 30 min can produce better effect in improving post-stroke hypermyotonia, spasticity, and motions of limbs.

AIM: To study a method for the determination of Zedoary turmeric oil microsphere (ZTO-MS). METHODS: ZTO-MS was extracted supersonically by solvent and then colored by sulfuric acid-vanillin reagent. The absorbance was measured by visible-spectrophotometry at 508nm. At the same time, ZTO-MS also could be determined by HPLC. RESULTS: The content of Zedoary turmeric oil was above 60% and the contents of Curdione、Curcuma、Germacrone were 6.88%,0.95%,5.0%, respectively, in ZTO-MS. CONCLUSION: Two methods for the determination of ZTO-MS are accurate, reliable; the method of visible-spectrophotometry is convenient and appropriate for determination for content of oil in ZTO-MS, while the method of HPLC gains the advantage for qualitative and quantitative analysis of components in ZTO-MS.
6.Gene expression of osteoprotegerin and osteoclast differentiation factor in giant cell tumor.
Chinese Journal of Pathology 2002;31(2):128-131
OBJECTIVETo investigate the gene expression of osteoprotegerin (OPG) and osteoclast differentiation factor (ODF/TRANCE/RANKL), two new members of the TNF-receptor superfamily, in giant cell tumor (GCT); to discuss the molecular mechanism of extensive bone resorption caused by GCT.
METHODSUsing TRIzol reagent to prepare total RNA from GCT sample and normal bone tissue. By a first-strand complementary DNA (cDNA) synthesis kit, cDNA was synthesized from 2.0 micro g RNA according to the manufacturer's instructions. cDNA was then amplified by PCR. Amplification products were resolved by electrophoresis on a 1.5% agarose gel and stained with EB. The relative quantity of the PCR products were determined and the mRNA levels of OPG, ODF, M-CSF (cofactor of ODF), and RANK (receptor of ODF) were compared with that of the normal bone.
RESULTSGCT contained highly expressed mRNA of ODF, OPG, M-CSF and RANK. There was mRNA expression of OPG, M-CSF and RANK and less expression of ODF in normal bone. The ODF mRNA and RANK mRNA in GCT were more abundant than that in normal bone. In GCT, the ratio of ODF mRNA exceeded OPG expression. But in normal bone, the OPG mRNA exceeded ODF expression.
CONCLUSIONSThe results suggest that GCT contains all signals including OPG, ODF, M-CSF and RANK that are essential for inducing osteoclastogenesis and promoting bone resorption.

Chinese Journal of Anesthesiology 2013;33(7):864-865
Objective To evaluate the role of the beta3 subunit of the voltage-gated sodium channel (Scn3b) in neuropathic pain in mice. Methods The target gene Scn3b was embedded in the vector pBROAD-mcs and pBROAD3-mcs-Scn3b plasmid was then obtained. The primary mice were bred. The primary mice mated with C57/B6 mice and the transgenic mice were then generated.DNA,RT-PCR and Western blot experiments were performed to confirm the mice in which Scn3b was over-expressed.The mice with Scn3b over-expression multiplied rapidly to carry out the follow-up experiment.Ten transgenic mice (Scn3b group) and 10 control mice in the same litter (Con group) of both sexes, aged 2 months, weighing 25-30 g,were randomly chosen to establish the model of neuropathic pain. The mechanical pain threshold was measured before operation and on 3,5,7 and 14 days after operation. Results There was no significant difference in the mechanical pain threshold at each time point between the two groups (P > 0.05).Conclusion Scn3b is not involved in the development and maintenance of neuropathic pain in mice.

ObjectiveTo explore clinical characteristics and diagnosis of patients with granulocytic sarcoma (GS),and to evaluate the value of FCM in diagnosing it.MethodsClinical data of one patient with GS was reviewed and related literature was reviewed. ResultsThe patient was diagnosed as AML-M2,chromosomal karyotype was 46.XY, t (8;21)(q22;q22)and the AML/ETO gene was positive. Systemic chemotherapy with daunorubicin plus cytarabine was given and complete remission was received. Then a nodular in medial angle of right eye was found. Result of CT indicated the possibility of leukemia infiltration.Needle aspiration cytology was conducted and many blast cells were found by microscope.CD34+ CD117+ CD13+ CD33+CD45dim SSC+ can be found by FCM. The cytology was complete remission and minimal residual disease was negative. Finally diagnosis was GS, relapse of AML. After a systemic chemotherapy with large dose of cytarabine plus teniposide (cytarabine 6.0 g/d, d1-3;teniposide 50 mg/d, d1-3), the mass could not be touched and the follow-up was continued. Conclusion Although relapse of AML often occurs in the testicle or the central nervous system,it pay attention to the possibility of relapse of AML presenting as GS.Fine needle aspiration cytology(FNAC)combined with FCM can provide an convenient, handy, practicable and less invasive way of the diagnosis and can be a preferred detection technique.
9.Different methods of alimentary tract reconstruction after proximal gastrectomy.
Chinese Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery 2014;17(5):424-426
Selection of the ideal technique for alimentary tract reconstruction after gastrointestinal surgery has been a major concern for surgeons. Although various reconstruction methods are available after gastrectomy, there are obvious differences between proximal gastrectomy and other procedures because of its characteristics in anatomy and physiology. It is an important way to make an individualized and feasible scheme for reconstruction in order to improve patient's quality of life.
