Objective To establish a kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace catechol in the waste water. Methods Trace catechol can sensitively inhibit the Arsenazo decolorization reaction with H2O2 catalyzed by Cu(Ⅱ)in dilute H2SO4 medium. Based on the changing of catalyzed reaction speed, a new inhibitory kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace catechol in the waste water was established. Results The optimum condition, kinetic parameters and reaction mechanism were investigated. It is shown that the linear range of determination was 0.2-1.8 mg/ L, the detection limit was 0.084 mg/L. The RSDs of ?A for 0.6 mg/L,1.12 mg/L and 1.6 mg/L catechol standard materials for 11 parallel determination were 2.4%, 1.2% and 1.6% respectively. The recovery rates were 98.0% and 96.0%. Conclusion This method can be used for determination of trace catechol in waste water with satisfactory results.

Objective To observe the effect of 6% hydroxyethylstarch (130/0.4) on hemorheology in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) complicated by shock before and after early fluid resuscitation. Methods 72 AMI patients complicated by shock were randomly divided into two groups , namely groupⅠwith 6%hydroxyethylstarch (130/0.4) for early liquid resuscitation and group Ⅱwith balanced salt (1.86% sodium lactate solution and compound sodium chloride solution for a ratio of 1∶2 ) for liquid recovery; and another 36 subjects was assigned to normal control group (groupⅢ). The hemorheological indices were detected after admission and 2 to 3 hours after fluid resuscitation in groupsⅠandⅡ. Results After fluid resuscitation , high-and low-shear viscosity , red cell aggregation index, hematocrit, fibrinogen, and platelet aggregation rate decreased in groupⅠand groupⅡ, with significant statistical differences (P < 0.05 and P < 0.01). Conclusions 6% hydroxyethylstarch (130/0.4) can effectively improve abnormal hemorheology in patients with AMI complicated by shock.

Targeted therapy has gradually become the focus in the treatment of tumor, with the emerge of more and more targeted drugs which has brought the treatment of tumor into a new era. Imatinib, the tyrosine kinase inhibitor, is one of the important types of targeted therapy, has become the standard of care in adjuvant therapy of gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GIST) with extraordinary effects. However, the questions are still on debate incluing the optimal way to evaluate treatment results, the treatment duration, whether it can be intermitted or not, second line therapy for imatinib-intolerance or -resistance and the combination with surgery.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) is the most common gastrointestinal mesenchymal tumors, mainly due to the onset of the proto-oncogene receptor tyrosine kinase, or platelet-derived growth factor receptor gene activating mutations. Molecular targeted therapy drug of imatinib mesylate inhibit KIT, platelet-derived growth factor receptor aloha (PDGFRA) gene tyrosine kinase activity, which is effective in patients with advanced GIST. However, a growing number of studies have found the presence of imatinib mesylate in primary and secondary drug resistance in the treatment of GIST process. With the in-depth study of the physiological function and mechanism of action of non-coding RNA in recent years, making it gradually realized extensive regulation of non-coding RNA gene expression, which occurs in tumor development, invasion and metastasis, drug resistance and other processes plays an important role. Non-coding RNA has the potential to explore GIST pathogenesis and resistance mechanisms to provide new ideas and direction.

Objective To assess the clinical value of 131I-metaiodobenzylguanidine (MIBG) scintigraphy in pheochromocytoma. Methods A total of 430 patients with clinically suspected pheochromocytoma underwent 131I-MIBG whole body scintigraphy, 326 among them underwent B-ultrasound, 400 for CT and 77 for MR examination respectively. While 178 among them were diagnosed with pathology and the others were diagnosed clinically. Results Of all the patients, 108 were diagnosed pheochromocytoma, including 89 131I-MIBG scan positive and 19 negative. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of 131I-MIBG were 82.41%, 100% and 95.70%, respectively. 131I-MIBG scan detected 90.00% of unilateral adrenal, 45.45% of bilateral adrenal, 85.71% of ectopic and 66.67% of malignant lesions, respectively. The proportion of patients with positive 131I-MIBG scan increased from 20.69% in all patients to 35.15% in patients with clinical symptoms and positive conventional imaging (at least one of B-ultrasonography, CT or MR was positive) and 64.58% in those with clinical symptoms, positive conventional imaging, and elevated 24 h urinary catacholamines. In 59 patients with adrenal incidentaloma, 8 were scan-positive and all had confirmed pheochromocytoma, while 2 of scan-negative patients also had confirmed pheochromocytoma. Conclusion 131I-MIBG scintigraphy is the first choice for the diagnosis of both adrenal and extra-adrenal pheochromocytoma. However, it is inappropriate to take this method as the initial screening approach.

AIM: To investigate the short-term efficacy and safety of sulfasalazine (SASP) 3 g per day in the treatment of patients with mild and moderate ulcerative colitis (UC). METHODS: 122 patients were treated with SASP ( 1 g, t.i.d.) for 6 weeks. The data of clinical manifestations, colonoscopic and histological involvements were compared before and after the treatment of UC. The short-period efficacy and adverse reactions were evaluated in 110 patients. RESULTS: The therapeutic project was carried out in the 110 out of 122 patients. After 110 patients were treated for 6 weeks, the clinical, colonoscopic and histological remission were 71.8%, 21.8% and 16.4%, respectively. Among the 79 patients with clinical remission, 58.2% and 67.1% of them remained grade 1 in colonoscopic and histological findings, respectively. The curative rates and the effective rates were 63.9% and 82.0%, respectively. Among the 122 patients treated with SASP, 21 of them ( 17.2%) had adverse reactions. Except 4 patients suffered urticaria and leukopenia, no patients quitted the treatment because of obvious adverse reaction. CONCLUSION: SASP ( 3 g per day) can be an effective and safe medicine in treatment of patients with mild and moderate UC, but more than half of the patients in clinical remission still have light inflammation in colonoscopy and histology.
