Objective To investigate the adverse event reporting of nurses and analyze the influenc-ing factors. Methods A sample of 801 nurses were assessed by completing AHRQ Hospital Survey On Patient Safety Culture (Chinese version). Results 82.65% of respondents within hospital didn't reported a single event in the past 12 months. The positive responsive rates for "frequency of event reported"and "nonpunitive response to error"was 29.92% and 29.38% respectively, where higher scores were found in the respondents possessing bachelor degrees and the average score of the respondents from out-patients unit was lower than those from other units. Conclusions The findings illustrate that it is necessary to improve the performance of event reporting of nurses and the influence factors lie in the level of the nurses' educa-tion degree and whether the event reporting system is punitive or not.

Objective To investigate the pressure sources of caregivers in need of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and to provide evidence for targeted intervention. Methods According to Hill′s ABC-X family pressure model, 12 main family caregivers were received semi-structured in depth interviews with phenomenological methods. Results Pressure sources of caregivers for HSCT patients were summed up to 7 aspects: search of donor, isolation with patient during transplantation, lack of knowledge in patient care, family resource difficulties, family economic overburden, social role transformation and uncertainty of disease prognosis. Conclusions The pressure sources of caregivers for HSCT patients is a persistent process, which is over layed as the patient′s condition worsens. The analysis on the pressure sources of primary family caregivers is becoming a new topic in HSCT nursing area.

OBJECTIVE To discuss the constitution and drug sensitivity of pathogens that cause pulmonary infection in NICU. METHODS Sputa were collected from patients hospitalized in NICU from Mar 2006 to Mar 2007 and analyzed for distribution and drug sensitivity of pathogenic bacteria. RESULTS All 555 strains of pathogenic bacteria were isolated. The most common pathogens were Pseudomonas aeruginosa(183 strains,33.0%),Staphylococcus aureus(114 strains,20.5%) and Klebsiella pneumoniae(56 strains,10.1%). Nearly most pathogenic bacteria were multi-resistant to commonly used antibiotics. Meticillin resistant strains of S. aureus accounted for 97.4%. The percentange of fungi strains was increasing in NICU. The main isolated strains were Candida tropicalis(5.9%),C. albicans(3.8%)and C. glabrata(3.6%). And all of the fungi were sensitive to amphotericin B. fluconazole. and ketoconazole. CONCLUSIONS Pulmonary infections in NICU are mainly caused by Gram-negative bacteria with high rate of drug resistance. It can be of great importance to make drug sensitivity tests at regular intervals to guide the use of antibiotics.

Objective To evaluate the validity, reliability and feasibility of Chinese version of Aggressive Behavior-Teacher' s Checklist (TCL) among preschool children. Methods TCL was translated and administered with Child Behavior Checklist (CBCI)-aggressive subscale to 148 preschool children in Shanghai. Validity and reliability of TCL was evaluated using standard psychometric analyses. Results Each item of Chinese version of TCL was significantly correlated with the subscale it belonged to(P<0. 01). The criterion validities of reactive aggressive subscale and proactive aggressive subscale among boys and girls were from 0.491 to 0. 733. The construct validity was also confirmed by factor analysis with 78.489% variance explained by two factors. Cronbach's alpha of TCL and its two subscales were 0. 891,0. 814, and 0. 880 respectively. The test-retest reliability and the inter-rater reliability coefficients of reactive aggressive subscale and proactive aggressive subscale were all above 0. 7. Conclusion Chinese version of Aggressive Behavior-Teachers Checklist has good validity and reliability among preschool children in Shanghai, and can be applied in kindergartens and schools to evaluate and deal with aggressive behavior among these children.
