Objective To improve the poor water-solubility of nimodipine,nimodipine-loaded PLEG copoly- met nanopartieles were prepared to avoid the sedimentation of its crystal from water,which could also shun the blood vessel stimulation caused by ethanol,a cosolvent,in the injection.Methods Solvent evaporation method was used to prepare water-dispersing nimodipine-loaded nanoparticles,whose lyophilized powder was further prepared,with PLEG2000 as drug carrier.Particle size,Zeta potential,embedding ratio,drug loading,shape and redispersion ability of the lyophilized powder were determined.Results Concerning the lyophilized nanoparticle powders,the particle sizes were 136nm,the Zeta potentials were -29.90mV,the embedding ratio was 67.9% and the drug loading was 6.17%.Conclusion Prepared nimodipine-loaded nanoparticles solved the problem of poor water-solubility of ni- modipine basically.It also avoided the recrystallization process of the drug and reduced the blood vessel stimulation caused by ethanol in the injection.

Objective　To observe the therapeutic effect of combination of penetrating keratoplasty, cataract extraction and intraocular lenses implantation.Methods　Penetrating keratoplasty was performed simultaneously with cataract extraction and intraocular lenses implantation on 134 cases. Results　One hundred and twenty cases were recorded after following up for 0.5～12 years. Ninety-nine cases (82.5%)of the corneas remained clear. Twenty-one cases (17.5%)of the corneas failed.Ninety-two cases (76.7%)achieved a better visual acuity postoperatively.Eighty-nine eyes(74.2%)were not blind any longer. Conclusion　The combination of penetrating keratoplasty, cataract extraction and intraocular lenses implantation offers advantages of rapid and better rehabilitation of visual acuity with low complication rate.

Permeabilized cells containing trehalose synthase from Meiothermus sp.CBS-01 was immobilized by the integration of entrapment in alginate beads with cross-linking and electrostatic self-assembly coating technique.Coating on alginate beads with diazo-resin and poly(styrene sulfonate) can protect the beads from degradation in phosphate buffer,whereas cross-linking with carbodiimide improves the thermostability of trehalose synthase entrapped in alginate beads.By co-immobilization of permeabilized cells using entrapment-cross-linking- coating method,the enzyme recovery was 32%,and the optimum temperature of the enzyme was still 60℃,but the optimum pH was shifted from 6.5 to 7.In batch manner,a maximum conversion yield of 60% trehalose from maltose could be reached by the immobilized cells.Within 4 times repeated use of the immobilized cells,and each time was operated at 50℃ for 24h,more than 50% conversion yield of trehalose could be maintained with less than 20% loss of the enzyme activity.

A pilot-scale research on purification of odorous gas emitted from wastewater treatment plant using a biofilter was conducted. The aim of this study is to check on the performance of biofilter running in various conditions and the effect of pH fluctuations on the performance of biofilter. The relation between distribution of microorganism and removal of odorous gases were also discussed here. The experimental results show that the predominant odor-causing gas can be efficiently eliminated by a biofilter inoculated with deodoring microorganism which were isolated previously. Moreover the biofilter had been proved having good tolerance to shocking loads of pollutant and can operate well in the condition of low pH.

Monascus spp.,a kind of filamentous fungi,produce abundant of important metabolites which were widely used in the fields of food and medicine.Until now,there are few reports on the important functional genes of the Monascus spp.due to little genetic information.In this paper,the feasibility of gene deletion mediated via Agrobacterium tumefaciens on the basis of homologous recombination was analyzed by studying on the deletion of the RGS domain of putative G-protein signaling regulator gene mrfA in Monascus ruber.The length of homologous arms of deletion vector pC805S were 958 bp and 824 bp,respectively.There were 26 transformants in which homologous recombination occurred in 138 transformants and the recombination rate was 18.8%.The result showed it was feasible to identify the function of unknown gene in M.ruber with the targeted-deletion technology mediated via A.tumefaciens.

The optimized cultural medium of fermentation for Candida sp.mutant strain YQ5 to produce S-adenosylmethionine was studied.The results of single factor experiment showed that the most favorable pH value,carbon source,nitrogen source organic nutrient is 6.0,8% sucrose,1.5% tryptone and 2% yeast extract,respectively.As to inorganic salts,MgSO4?7H2O,CaCl2,FeSO4?7H2O,CoCl2,CuSO4?5H2O,H3BO3 could improve accumulation of the intercellular SAM.The ingredients of the culture medium are also opti-mized by the orthogonal experiment.Fermentation for 48 h under the optimal condition resulted in AdoMet production at 1740.0 mg/L.

Objective To discuss the value of echocardiography for the assessment of structure and function of right heart in normal Chinese adults Methods The structure and function of right heart was assessed by echocardiography according to 2010 guideline of American Society of Echocardiography (ASE). The echocardiographic data of right heart of 130 normal Chinese adults were analyzed to acquire the normal reference values of echocardiographic parameters and evaluate the differences of these results among different age groups. Results There were significant differences among different age groups for some of the parameters. Right atrium (RA) transverse diameter was greater in the middle-aged group than that in the young-aged group [(36.90±5.10) mm vs (33.90±5.20) mm, t=-2.79, P=0.006]. RA longitudinal diameter (RAL) and RA area (RAA) were smaller in the young-aged group than those in the middle-aged and old-aged groups [(40.10±5.10) mm vs (42.90±5.10) mm, (43.40±5.60) mm, t=-2.51 and-2.91, P=0.013 and 0.004;(11.90±3.20) mm2 vs (13.40±2.90) mm2, (13.90±3.60) mm2, t=-2.24 and-2.90, P=0.027 and 0.004]. Parasternal long-axis right ventricule outflow tract (PLAX RVOT), parasternal short-axis right ventricule outflow tract (PSAX RVOT) and pulmonary artery diameter (PAD) were smaller in the young-aged group than those in the middle-aged and old-aged groups [(24.20±3.00) mm vs (26.20±2.30) mm, (25.90±2.90) mm, t=-2.80 and-2.32, P=0.006 and 0.022;(24.70±3.00) mm vs (27.20±2.50) mm, (26.90±2.60) mm, t=-4.40 and -3.84, P=0.000 and 0.000; (20.60±2.00) mm vs (22.10±2.70) mm, (21.90±2.10) mm, t=-3.12 and-2.67, P=0.002 and 0.008]. Tricuspid E wave was greater in the young-aged group than that in the middle-aged and old-aged groups [(0.61±0.11) m/s vs (0.51±0.11) m/s, (0.48±0.08) m/s, t=4.58 and 5.44, P=0.000 and 0.000]. E/A was greater in the young-aged group than that in the middle-aged and old-aged groups (1.45±0.30 vs 1.12±0.33, 1.10±0.27, t=4.58 and 5.44, P=0.000 and 0.000). No significant differences were found among different age groups in RV systolic function parameters, whereas a trend of decrease in RV diastolic function was detected. Conclusion Echocardiography can be useful in assessing the structure and function of right heart quantitatively.
