Objective To investigate the effect of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) decoy oligodeoxynucleotides (ODNs) on the expression of IFI16 in the peripheral blood mononuclear cell of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).Methods STAT3 decoy ODNs was transfected to PSMC in vitro,and RT-PCR was used to semiquantitatively analyze the IFI16 mRNA in the peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) before and after the transfection.Results The mean level of IFI16 mRNA in ac- tive SLE group and inactive SLE group were much higher than that of normal control.The difference was sig- nificant (P＜0.05).However,there was no statistical difference between active and inactive SLE group (P＞0.05).After being transfected by STAT3 decoy ODNs,the level of IFI16 mRNA in active and inactive SLE group were markedly decreased comparing with negative controls.The difference was significant (P＜0.05). However,the difference was not significant in normal control (P＞0.05).Conclusions The abnormal overex- pression of IFI16 mRNA in PBMC of patients with SLE suggests that IFI16 may contribute to the pathogenesis of SLE and the overexpression of IFI16 may be mediated through JAK-STAT3 pathway.

ObjectiveTo explore the effect of Shuanglong pill which can vivid blood and relax thread pulse on cardial morphology and haemodynamics in experimental myocardial infarction (MI) rats.Methods66 rats ligated left coronary artery were randomly divided into large dose group of Shuanglong pill (LDG), small dose group of Shuanglong pill (SDG), the normal control (NC) and the control group of MI. Half in each group received 2 week treatment and the other received 4 week treatment, and were spiled in femoral and common carotid artery respectively. Parameters of cardiac haemodynamics were monitored by eight lead physiological recorder. ResultsLeft ventricular systolic maximum velocity in LDG, SDG and DC was more significantly elevated than in MI, after 2 weeks and 4 weeks of treatment, but it was lower than NC. There were no significant differences among LDG, SDG and DC. Ventricular systolic maximum velocity in LDG was more significantly elevated than in MI after 2 week treatment.ConclusionTreating MI with Shuanglong pill can improve left ventricular systolic maximum velocity, and diastolic phase function of left ventricular also elevate during the acute stage of MI by using large dose.

Objective To demonstrate the cause of visual loss (VL) caused by pituitary adenomas (PAs),through retrospective study on the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) radiological materials of patients with PAs.Methods Forty eight patients with PAs were selected,who received surgical treatment at our Hospital.Their medical records and MRI radiological films were reviewed.The relationship between the characteristics of PAs and the visual deterioration were analyzed.Neuro-ophthalmological findings were elevated with the relationship between the tumor and the supraelinoidal segment (C2 segment) of the internal carotid artery(ICA).Resuits On the coronal MR images,C2 segments of 28 sides(29.2%) were involved by the tumors whose value of VL in the ipsilateral eyes averaged 0.80±0.20 (range from 0.40 to 1.00).In the rest 68 sides (70.8%) without C2 segments involved,the valHe of VL in the correspondent eyes averaged 0.30±0.30 (range from 0.00 to 1.00).The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusions If the C2 segment of ICA is invaded,the worse visual acuity would appear.which might be due to the markedly involved chiasmal arteries.

Objective To apply the hydrocolloid dressings and hydrocolloid dressings combined GreenCream Dressing for central venous catheterization fixing, and to explore the effect of hydrocolloid dressings combined GreenCream Dressing in the prevention of venous catheter bacterial colonization and bacterial infection. Methods 470 patients who underwent the Inferior vena cava catheter were divided into 230 patients in the control group and 240 patients in the experimental group. The control group was fixed with hydrocolloid dressings after central venous catheter, and the experimental group was fixed with hydrocolloid dressings combined GreenCream Dressing after central vein catheter. The measurements included catheter bacterial colonization, catheter-related infections (CRIs) and catheter related blood stream infections (CR-BSIs), pathogenic bacteria colonization of the skin. At the same time, the skin safety was also confirmed. Results In the control group, 230 cases were retained for 1 419 catheter-days, and 240 cases in the experimental group were retained for 1 675 catheter-days. Compared with hydrocolloid dressings, hydrocolloid dressing combined GreenCream Dressing could reduce the incidence of CRIs from 1.8‰(3/1 675) to 0.7‰(1/1 675), and CR-BSIs from 2.4‰(4/1 675) to 0.7‰(1/1 675) respectively, with the statistically significant (χ2=6.39, 95%CI 1.30-31.41, andχ2=6.21, 95%CI 1.56-40.82;P<0.05). The results of bacterial colonization, CRIs and CR-BSIs showed that the most common bacteria were Staphylococcus and fungi. At the same time, compared with the hydrocolloid dressing, hydrocolloid dressing combined GreenCream dressing could reduce the incidence of skin pathogenic bacteria colonization, from 41.74%(96/230) to 28.33%(68/230),with the statistically significant (χ2=9.29,P=0.00);There was no difference between the two groups in the field of the incidence of abnormal skin manifestation (χ2=1.23, P=0.30), showing a good safety. Conclusions Hydrocolloid dressing combined GreenCream Dressing would be more effective to prevent bacterial colonization and bacterial infection of central venous catheter in department of neurosurgery.
