ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture plus psychological intervention in treating postpartum depression and its effect on 5-hydroxy tryptamine (5-HT), orphanin FQ (OFQ) and estrodiol (E2).MethodTotally 158patients with postpartum depression were randomized into an acupuncture group, a psychological intervention group, and a treatment group, 52 cases in the acupuncture group, and 53 cases respectively in the psychological intervention group and treatment group. The acupuncture group was given acupuncture, the psychological intervention group was given psychological intervention, while the treatment group was given acupuncture plus psychological intervention. After 6-week treatment, the clinical efficacies, the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) score, Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) score, Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) score, 5-HT, OFQ, and E2were observed.ResultThe total effective rate was 92.5% in the treatment group, versus 79.2% in the psychological intervention group and 76.9% in the acupuncture group. TheRiditanalysis showed that the therapeutic efficacy of the treatment group was significantly superior to that of the psychological intervention group and acupuncture group (P<0.05), while there was no significant difference between the acupuncture group and psychological intervention group (P>0.05). After treatment, the HAMD score, SAS score, SDS score, 5-HT, OFQ, and E2levels were significantly different from those in the acupuncture group (P<0.01); after treatment, the HAMD score, SAS score, SDS score, 5-HT, OFQ, and E2levels of the treatment group were significantly different from those in the psychological intervention group (P<0.01); after treatment, the HAMD score, 5-HT, OFQ, and E2levelsof the psychological intervention group were insignificantly different from those of the acupuncture group (P>0.05), while there were significant differences in comparing the SAS and SDS scores between the two groups (P<0.01).ConclusionAcupuncture plus psychological intervention can markedly enhance the clinical efficacy in treating postpartum depression, improving HAMD score, decreasing SAS and SDS scores, and regulating the 5-HT, OFQ, and E2levels.
3.Determination of serum osteopontin in pulmonary tuberculosis patients and its clinical significance
Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2012;35(1):36-39
ObjectiveTo investigate osteopontin (OPN) level in pulmonary tuberculosis and its clinical significance.MethodsThe level of serum OPN was determined in 80 pulmonary tuberculosis patients before anti-tuberculosis treatment[patients group, simple pulmonary tuberculosis with 60 cases (simple pulmonary tuberculosis group),pulmonary tuberculosis combined with tuberculous pleurisy with 20cases (pulmonary tuberculosis combined with tuberculous pleurisy group)],and compared with that of 30healthy persons (healthy control group) and 20 patients having received effective anti-tuberculosis treatment and followed-up for 6 months (followed-up group). At the same time, the clinical significance of OPN was studied by other commonly used clinical indicators of tuberculosis.ResultsThe level of serum OPN in patients group [(843.49 ±569.23) ng/L] was significantly higher than that in healthy control group [(352.50 ± 185.02) ng/L,P <0.05].The level of serum OPN after treatment in followed-up group were significantly decreased compared with those before treatment [(494.11 ±352.40) ng/L vs.(1106.60 ± 628.39) ng/L,P< 0.05 ] and there was no significant difference compared with those in healthy control group (P > 0.05 ).The level of serum OPN in pulmonary tuberculosis combined with tuberculous pleurisy group [(1179.80 ±606.33) ng/L] was significantly higher than those in simple pulmonary tuberculosis group [(727.53 ±511.66) ng/L,P <0.05],and they were both higher than those in healthy control group [ ( 352.50 ± 185.02 ) ng/L,P < 0.05 ].Therefore, for further additional subgroup analysis in simple pulmonary tuberculosis group, the level of serum OPN in patients with cavity[ ( 836.51 ± 549.80) ng/L ] was significantly higher than that without cavity [ (535.52 ± 375.95 ) ng/L,P < 0.05 ],while the levels of serum OPN had no statistical difference between pulmonary lesion involved < 3 leaf patients and ≥ 3 leaf patients, sputum mycobacterium tuberculosis positive patients and negative patients, mycoDot test results positive patients and negative patients, erythrocyte sedimentation rate elevated patients and normal patients,PPD strongly positive patients and non-strongly positive patients (P>0.05).ConclusionsOPN activity is closely related with pulmonary tuberculosis.OPN can serve as a judge of pulmonary tuberculosis and the clinical indicators of disease outcome. The level of serum OPN and the severity of pulmonary tuberculosis have some correlations.

Basic & Clinical Medicine 2006;0(09):-
Drug resistance and relapse are two major causes for treatment failure of leukemia, but their mechanisms remain elusive. Recently, increasing evidence shows that there is a subset of leukemia stem cells apart from immature leukemia cells in leukemia patients. These malignant stem cells do not response to routine chemotherapeutic agents, and may be the source of drug resistance and relapse of leukemia. Permanent cure of leukemia need elimination of these leukemia stem cells. We describe molecular characteristics of leukemia stem cells and possible target therapeutic strategies in this review.

Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2005;0(11):-
Objective To Discuss the causes, prevention and treatment of delayed bile leakage following laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC). Methods From November 1994 to December 2007,totally 11 000 cases of LC were performed in our hospital,12 of them developed delayed bile leakage after the procedure. The mechanism, characteristics, treatment, and prognosis of the disease were analyzed retrospectively. Results Among the twelve cases of delayed bile leakage, eight cases showed perforation of the bile duct caused by thermoelectric effect, two cases had leakage of the aberrant bile-duct,and two cases were injured by unknown reasons. B-ultrasonography-guided drainage was performed in four of the patients, laparoscopic or open repair combined with T-tube drainage were carried out in three, abdominal puncture combined with endoscopic nasobiliary drainage (ENBD) was done in three, abdominal puncture with endoscopic retrograde biliary drainage (ERBD) was made in one,and open repair and bilio-jejunal anastomosis was performed in one. All patients were cured and discharged in 8 to 21 days with a mean of 15 days. No intra-abdominal infection, hemorrhage, recurrent bile leakage or intestinal leakage occurred after the operations. Re-examination by B-ultrasonography or cholangiopancreatography performed ten days after the drainage showed no stricture or dilation of the bile duct, and contrast media drained out fluently. The 12 cases were followed up for one year, none of them showed biliary stenosis or infections during the period. Conclusions Post-LC injury of the bile duct is mostly caused by thermoelectric effect. Gentle operation and separation strictly following the anatomical levels are the keys in prevention of postoperative delayed bile leakage; while endoscopy and interventional treatment are main methods for the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.

Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2007;5(1):1-5
Acupuncture is a traditional empirical medicine, and evidence-based medicine(EBM) is a new medical method and development of the empirical medicine. Since 1990s, Chinese acupuncture workers began to absorb and use the methods and principles of EBM to guide acupuncture clinical research and practice. Now more and more domestic acupuncture clinicians use and follow the methods and principles of EBM. On the systemic review of acupuncture-associated articles in Cochrane library, previously effective acupuncture therapy lacks adequate evidences, which may be related to the low quality of randomized controlled trials(RCTs). In the future, only developing specialized team of acupuncture clinical research and clinical research center can radically elevate the levels of acupuncture clinical research and evaluation. Meanwhile, developing China's evidence-based acupuncture should base itself on the characteristics of acupuncture, such as emphasis on original research in ancient books,high-quality single RCTs and systemic review of non-randomized researches.
