Objective To compare the advantages and disadvantages of two methods for rat overactive bladder(OAB)model construction in?duced by intraperitoneal injection and intravesical instillation cyclophosphamide. Methods A total of 30 female SD rats weighting 200?250 g were randomly categorized into three groups:intraperitoneal injection?induced OAB(Ip?OAB),intravesical instillation?induced group(Iv?OAB)and con?trol group. Ip?OAB rats was i.p. administrated cycbophosphe mide three times in dose of 75 mg/kg body weight, while Iv?OAB rats received intravesi?cal instillation three times in drug dose of 75 mg/kg body weight. Control group rats received no treatment. Maximum bladder capacity(MBC),maxi?mum voiding pressure(MVP),frequency of spontaneous contraction of each group were recorded. The incidence, the mortality and the pathology of the three groups were compared. Results MBC,MVP and frequency of spontaneous contraction between Ip?OAB group and Iv?OAB group had no statistically significant difference(P>0.05). Compared with the control group,MBC significantly increased(P<0.05),MVP significantly decreased (P<0.05),and frequency of spontaneous contraction significantly increased(P<0.05)in Ip?OAB and Iv?OAB rats. The modeling success rate and mortality were 100%and 80%in Ip?OAB group, and were 50%and 0%in Iv?OAB group, and pathological changes were found in the two groups. Conclusion The construction of experimental animal model of OAB in rat induced by intraperitoneal injection and intravesical instillation cyclo?phosphamide are both reliable methods. Ip?OAB rats exhibit high incidence and mortality rate, while Iv?OAB rats show low incidence and mortality rate.

Objective:To observe the expression and correlation of eIF4E and c-myc in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma. Methods:Western blot was applied to examine the expression of eIF4E and c-myc on tumor core, transition core and tumor-free core from 36 laryngeal carcinoma patients. The results were statistically analyzed. Results:The overexpression of eIF4E and c-myc protein levels suggests an increasing tendency from tumor-free core, transition core and tumor core;and shows an significant correlation of eIF4E and c-myc expression. Conclusion:The overexpression of eIF4E and c-myc cause the laryngeal carcinoma cell malignant transformation;the correlation of eIF4E and c-myc may provide a basis for gene therapy of laryngeal carcinoma.

Objective To discuss the clinical application of different particle size of grain fat sieved by the homogenizing fat extractor. Methods A lot of 68 patients in this group were women, and the average age was 28 years. With the aid of tumescent technique, anterior and lateral thigh fat granules were extracted using liposuction needle;after the homogenizing fat extractor and sieve purification, fat particles were obtained with uniform particle size and no fibrous tissue for different sizes of 2.00 mm,0.90 mm,0.50 mm and 0.28 mm,respectively. After choosing corresponding diameter of fat transplantation needle and appropriate injection level according to fat particle size, the multiple spot and multiple track tunnels,multi-level injection for the facial soft tissue deficiency or cavity were then carried out. With long-term postoperative follow-up,evaluation of different grades were given for the complication, fat survival rate and satisfaction. Results The results were followed up for 3-12 months postoperatively;as responding, the facial appearance of graft field deformity or deficiency was significantly improved and the skin of the recipient area was soft;wrinkles was relieved, and so that they appeared young plump well-pleasing appearance. And there were no complications, such as infection, hematoma, fat liquefaction, pigmentation, induration and so on.Satisfactory results were obtained. Conclusions The treatment of facial soft tissue deficiency or deficiency,by choosing corresponding diameter of fat transplantation needle and appropriate injection level according to the differences of fat particle size sieved by the homogenizing fat extractor, can acheive a high fat survival rate, and stable long-term effect. Thus, this safe and ideal method for rejuvenation of facial treatment is worth promoting.

Dengue virus(DENV)is an enveloped single positive-stranded RNA virus that belongs to the Flaviviridae family. It is the cause of dengue fever,life-threatening dengue hemorrhagic fever and den-gue shock syndrome. Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus are responsible for the wide transmission of DENV in tropical and subtropical regions throughout the world. Currently, there have been several dengue vaccines entering clinical trials, including the Sanofi Pasteur chimeric yellow fever dengue tetravalent vaccine (CYD),which has been licensed for use in some countries. However,CYD does not provide adequate pro-tection against all four serotypes of DENV and induces severe dengue diseases in young and seronegative vac-cine recipients. Therefore,a more efficacious dengue vaccine is still needed. Here,we reviewed the oppor-tunities and challenges for the development of dengue vaccines.

Objective The purpose of this study was to compare the self-evaluation and doctor-patient orientation between medical students and residents before the courses in different communication sections, and gave guide to different objects for their targeted teaching. Methods We set a sample made of 331 medical students and 308 residents who were trained in Clinical communication skills course in Peking Union Medical College from Oct.2009 to Oct.2013.Before the course, they were investigated by two self-assessment questionnaires. One is communication skills and occupation practice confidence;the other is doctor-patient orientation.Their result data were analyzed and handled by SPSS 17.0 software, adopting an independent samples t test. Results The order of the different aspects of doctor patient communication skills was same in two groups, gathering complete history [(4.340 ± 0.756) vs.(4.050 ± 0.707)] first, and establishing good doctor patient relationship [(4.310 ±0.740) vs.(4.030 ±0.790)],discussing a therapeutic plan with patient [(4.050 ± 0.812) vs.(3.600 ± 0.823)],informing bad news [(3.850 ± 0.897) vs.(3.260 ± 0.907)] followed.According to the self-assessment,residents were more confident than medical students in all these aspects above mentioned and establishing good doctor patient relationship. The doctorpatient orientation scale indicated that the residents group is more inclined to doctor-centric mode than the medical students group. Conclusion This study suggested that the residents is more confident in doctorpatient communication skills than medical students, while is less inclined to patient-centric mode than them. The focus of the communication teaching is similarity in the distribution of the two groups.Medical students' communication curriculum needs to take into account the limited clinical experiences, and training for residents needs to emphasize the capacity of empathy and perspective-taking.
