Two cases of full term pregnant female cadavers (fetal head entered pelvis) were used for preparing a serial abdomimal cross-sections. Seven sections were selected in which the fetal major viscera were presented. The position, shape,relationship and the dimensions of the uterus,fetus,appendages of the fetus as well as the corresponding relation between showing sections of the fetal major viscera and mother's vertebras were observed. The results of the observation article would have some practical significance to diagnosis of the pregnant image.

Narcolepsy is a chronic sleep disorder,and a main cause for excessive daytime sleepiness. It is accompanied by cataplexy,sleep paralysis and sleep hallucinations,collectively known as tetralogy of narcolep-sy. Research progresses in the pathogenesis of narcolepsy are briefly summarized in this article,paving directions for further research. Both the realm of western and Chinese traditional medicine are concerned. Western medicine stated that it′s pathogenesis is closely related to orexin and HLA-DQB1?0602. In addition,recent studies from countries in Western Europe(UK,Finland,and Sweden)have indicated that the use of H1N1 influenza vaccine gives rise to incidence of the narcolepsy as well. From the realm of Chinese medicine,upsetting the balance of Yin-Yang and Yin-Wei are also possible causes attributed to the disease. In the case of child narcolepsy,the con-dition of the patient′s internal organs is also highly concerned.

Objective To investigate the changes of circulating endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) in patients with acute cerebral infarction or chronic cerebral ischemia and discuss the related clinical significance.Methods Circulating EPCs were isolated using staining markers of CD34,CD133,and kinase insert domain receptor (KDR).Peripheral venous blood was collected from patients with acute cerebral infarction within 24 hours of onset (infarction group,n =30),with chronic cerebral ischemia (ischemia group,n =20),and without cerebral ischemia (control group,n =10) to quantify circulating level of EPCs using flow cytometry and measure parameters of systolic pressure,glycosylated hemoglobin (HbAlc),total cholesterol (TC),and triglyceride (TG),and low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C),and high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C).Results CD34-,CD34/CD133-,and CD34/KDR-positive cells counted (14.2 ± 8.1)‰,(7.1 ± 4.1)‰ and (5.0 ± 3.7)‰ in infarction group,(28.5 ± 9.9)‰,(15.2 ± 3.7)‰ and (6.8 ± 2.0)‰ in ischemia group,and (44.8 ± 9.5) ‰,(22.1 ± 6.6) ‰ and (16.7 ± 6.9) ‰ in control group.Taken together,circulating level of EPCs lowered substantially in infarction and ischemia groups compared to control group (P ＜ 0.05) and a far lower level was observed in infarction group (P ＜ 0.05).Circulating level of EPCs in infarction group was in a moderate negative correlation with systolic pressure,TC,TG,and LDL-C (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Decreased circulating level of EPCs may be a risk factor to the development of cerebral ischemia in acute cerebral infarction patients.Therefore,level of EPCs is vital for prediction,prevention and treatment of acute cerebral infarction.

Objective: To develop a ultra performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) method for the quality evaluation of Shensong Yangxin Capsule (SYC). Methods: The Waters Acquity UPLC HSS T3 column (100 mm × 2.1 mm, 1.8 μm) was used. Acetonitrile and water containing 0.1% phosphoric acid were used as mobile phases of UPLC with gradient elution. The detection wavelengths were set at 203 (ginsenoside Rb1), 286 (salvianolic acid B), 230 (paeoniflorin), 221 (schisantherin A), 280 (sodium danshensu), 327 (chlorognenic acid), 335 (spinosin), and 345 nm (berberine hydrochloride), respectively. The flow rate was set at 0.4 mL/min and column temperature was 35 °C. Results: The contents of paeoniflorin, salvianolic acid B, schisantherin A, sodium danshensu, chlorognenic acid, spinosin, berberine hydrochloride, and ginsenoside Rb1 were determined from 10 batches of SYC. Conclusion: The method of the quality evaluation of SYC has acceptable precision, reproducibility, and stability, which could be used as a new method for the quality control of SYC. © 2013 Tianjin Press of Chinese Herbal Medicines.

Objective To identify the COL7A1 gene mutation in a family with dy strophic epidermolysis bullosa pruriginosa. Methods PCR and direct DNA sequencin g were employed to determine the mutation sites and mutation types. RT-PCR and cloning sequencing were performed to further identify the pathogeny of this dise ase. Results A splicing mutation was found in 87 exon of COL7A1 gene which resul ted in an in-frame deletion of exon 87. Synthesis of ?1(VII) collagen polypept ides was internally shortened by 23 amino acids. The mutation was not found in n ormal controls. Conclusions The splicing mutation of COL7A1 gene is the underlyi ng cause of and specific rather than common polymorphism for the family with dys trophic epidermolysis bullosa pruriginosa subtype.

Objective To explore the effect of different dosages of progynova in preventing intrauterine adhesions after transcervical resection of septum ( TCRS) under laparoscope. Methods Clinical data of 213 TCRS patients under laparoscope were retrospectively analyzed, and these cases were divided into four groups according to the dosages of progynova. Except for group A (n=26), group B, C, D were given 4,6,8 mg.d-1 of progynova.Endometrial thickness, menstrual blood volume, incidence rates of residual septal and intrauterine adhesions, rate of adverse effect, pregnancy rate after operation and rate of spontaneous abortion were compared among the four groups. Results The incidence rate of residual septal in group A, B, C, D was 11.5%, 6.9%, 6.0% and 6.3%, respectively.Incidence rate of intrauterine adhesions after operation was 46.2%, 12.5%, 9.0% and 4.2%, respectively.The pregnancy rate in group A, B, C and D was 30.8%, 59.7%, 58.2% and 60.4%, respectively. There were significant differences between group A and the other groups(all P<0.05).The high dose of progynova(8 mg.d-1) significantly increased endometrial thickness ( P<0. 05 ) and menstrual blood volume ( P<0. 05 ) . But the incidence rates of gastrointestinal tract reaction, hepatic damage and vaginal spotting in the high dose group of progynova increased obviously( P<0.05) . Conclusion Progynova is a safe and effective drug in preventing intrauterine adhesions after TCRS. It can effectively prevent intrauterine adhesions, increase pregnancy rate and improve pregnant outcome.

Objective To investigate the efficacy of endovascular stenting for aortic arch artery stenosis after nasopharyngeal carcinoma radiotherapy. Methods The clinical data of 8 patients with symptomatic severe aortic arch artery stenosis after nasopharyngeal carcinoma radiotherapy were analyzed retrospectively. The patients were all received endovascular stenting,and their improvement of cerebral ischemic symptoms was observed. They were followed up by cervical color Doppler ultrasound.Results The whole brain vascular DSA confirmed that there were 24 severe arterial stenoses on the aortic arch arteries of extracranial segments in 8 patients,including 11 in internal carotid artery,2 in common carotid artery,10 in vertebral artery and 1 in subclavian artery. The patients were treated with vascular angioplasty and stenting respectively. All the patients were followed up for 1 year;there were no recurrence of cerebral ischemic symptoms.Cervical color Doppler ultrasound did not reveal any obvious restenosis. Conclusion Endovascular stent angioplasty for the treatment of aortic arch artery stenosis after nasopharyngeal carcinoma radiotherapy is relatively safe and feasible.

Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of covered stent in treatment of esophageal perforation. Methods Observe and analyzed the effect and complications of covered metallic stent in esophageal perforation. In all of 40 cases, the most common causes were iatrogenic, esophageal cancer, and foreign body. Results All patients with esophageal perforation got successful esophageal stent placement. All of them recovered smoothly in eating. The stents were removed 4 days to 1 month later. Gastroscopy and angiography confirmed esophageal perforation has healed. 3 cases of esophageal cancer patients with dysphagia obviously relieved after stent placement. The main complications in stent and stent migration for chest pain after operation. 6 cases (15 %) of patients with stent displacement, while 2 cases (5 %) of esophageal cancer patients with food obstruction and stent displacement. Conclusion Treatment of esophageal perforation with covered metal stents endoscopically is effective and safe.

OBJECTIVETo establish fingerprints for Poecilobdella manillensis from Guangxi province using the high performance capillary electrophoresis (HPCE) method.

METHODElectrophoresis was performed on a fused silica capillary column (75 microm x 56 cm), with 25 mmol x L(-1) Na2HPO4-120 mmol x L(-1) Tris-16 mmol x L(-1) SDS (adjusted to pH 12.0 with 1 mol x L(-1) NaOH ) as the running buffer. The applied voltage was 17 kV, the temperature was 25 degrees C and the detection wavelength was 254 nm. The sample's hydrodynamic injection was 3.4 kPa x 6s and the duration was 27 min.

RESULTHPCE fingerprint was established with 13 common peaks. The similarity between fingerprints of P. manillensis in 10 batches and control fingerprints was more than 0.98.

CONCLUSIONThe method is so precise, reproducible and stable that it could be used as a new means for the quality control of P. manillensis.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the chemical constituents of the dried sorophore of cultured Cordyceps militaris.

METHODCompounds were isolated and purified by macroporous adsorption resin and silica gel column chromatography. Their chemical structures were elucidated on the basis of physicochemical properties and spectral data (IR, FAB-MS, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR).

RESULTNine compounds were isolated and identified as: ergosta-4, 6, 8 (14)-tetraen-3-one (1), citrostadienol (2), tetracosanoic acid 2, 3-dihydroxypropyl ester (3), ergosterol (4), ergosterol peroxide (5), ergosta-7, 22-dien-3beta, 5alpha, 6beta-triol (6), cordycepin (7), adenosine (8), N-(2-hydroxyethyl) adenosine (9), respectively.

CONCLUSIONCompounds 1-3, 6, 9 were separated from the sorophore of cultured C. militaris for the first time.
