This article was aimed to study the effect of pinellia combined with prunella vulgarisin of different ratios on the extraction yield of trigonellin and uracil, in order to investigate the changing disciplines and reasonable com-bination of Shuangxia Soup. A Welch Ultimate AQ-C18 column (4.6 mm×250 mm, 5 μm) was used in the study. The mobile phase, consisting of solvent A (water) and solvent B (acetonitrile) was programmed as a linear gradi-ent. The flow rate was 1.0 mL·min-1. And the detection wavelength was 265 nm. The column temperature was 25℃. HPLC was used in the determination of extraction yield of trigonellin and uracil for the comparison among different compatibilities. The results showed that the linearity was achieved in the range of 0.872-4.36 ng for trigonelline, and 10.8-50.4 ng for uracil. The average recoveries were 96.53%-101.48%, with RSD of 0.18%-4.26%. Com-pared with pinellia, the extraction yield of trigonelline was reduced and the extraction yield of uracil was increased after the compatibility. It was concluded that different compatibilities of Shuangxia Soup had effects on the extrac-tion yield of trigonelline and uracil. The best compatibility ratio still requires in-depth study.

Objective To investigate the clinical significance of plasma presepsin levels in patients with sepsis. Methods 92 patients who were admitted to the ICU of the affiliated hospital of Jiangsu University from October 2011 to March 2013 and 30 age-matched healthy controls were enrolled in this study. The patients were divided into three groups: sepsis, SIRS, and control. Plasma presepsin and serum procalcitonin (PCT) were measured, APACHEⅡscore were calculated at enrollment, and ROC curve was used to analyze the performance index for the diagnosis of sepsis. Results Serum levels of presepsin, PCT and APACHEⅡscore were significantly higher in the death group than in the SIRS group and the control group (P<0.01). Serum levels of presepsin and PCT were higher in the sepsis group than in the SIRS group and the control group (P<0.05). There was no significant statistical difference between the SIRS group and the sepsis group in the APACHEⅡ score (detailed in table 1). Level of plasma presepsin was significantly correlated with serum PCT (r = 0.82); plasma presepsin level was related with the APACHEⅡ score (r = 0.69). The area under the curve (AUC) of presepsin was 0.908 (95%CI 0.848~0.967), greater than the AUC of PCT 0.862 (95%CI 0.787~0.937). The cutoff value of presepsin for discrimination of bacterial and nonbacterial infectious diseases was determined to be 629 pg/mL, of which the clinical sensitivity and specificity were 68.6% and 90%, respectively; when the cutoff value of PCT was 1.98 ng/mL, the clinical sensitivity and specificity were 92%and 65%. Conclusions Level of presepsin increases in patients with sepsis, and an elevated presepsin may suggest the severity of sepsis.

In this paper,we analyzed one case of primary multifocal extranodal non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and reviewed the related literatures. We investigated the clinical data of this case with primary multifocal extranodal lymphoma and retrospected the related references. The key words, primary extranodal lymphoma and multifocal, were used to search Pubmed and Wanfang Database, and finally only three cases were found. The 68-yea-old woman was confirmatively diagnosed as primary multifocal extranodal B cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scan showed multiple hypermetabolic lesions in the left humerus, both kidneys and ileum. The confirmative diagnosis was based on clinical manifestations and serological tests, imaging features of CT and PET/CT,and especially on the histopathological and immunohistochemical studies. After one cycle chemotherapy (rituximab,Vincristine and prednisone) and another cycle (rituximab,Vincristine, cyclophosphamide and prednisone),a repeat PET/CT scan showed a complete metabolic resolution of the lesions in the kidneys and ileum, and a partial metabolic resolution of the left humerus. After four cycles of chemotherapy, there were new extensive involvements of the right supraclavicular and intrapulmonary lymph nodes, bilateral pleural and pericardium, and the patient gave up chemotherapy. This case demonstrated the imaging findings of an uncommon primary multifocal extranodal lymphoma in left humerus, both kidneys and ileum, and highlighted the usefulness of CT and PET/CT scan in identifying the extent of disease involvement,in guiding a biopsy, and in assessing the treatment response of lymphoma. It is essential to differentiate between primary multifocal extranodal lymphoma and lymphoma extensive metastases.

In order to identify host factors which interact with the movement protein (MP) of Apple chlorotic leaf spot virus (ACLSV), ACLSV MP was cloned into the bait vector pGBKT7 and used to screen a cDNA library of Malus sylvestris cv. R12740-7A, which had previously been constructed by yeast two-hybrid sequencing transformation. The protein functions of the identified host factors were determined according to their gene annotations in GenBank. The result showed that the bait plasmid pGBKT7-MP showed no virulence or self-activating effect on yeast strain Y2H Gold. Sixty-nine interactor proteins were identified, which were divided into the following 10 classes according to their described functions: hydrolases; pathogenesis-related proteins; DNA binding proteins; phosphatases; ligases; proteins with catalytic activity; phenylalanine ammonialyases; peroxidases; NAD binding proteins; and proteins of unknown function. Bioinformatic analysis of gene homology suggested that phosphatases, pathogenesis-related proteins and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase A may play an important role in the interaction between virus and host. This study may provide a theoretical basis for the further study of viral pathogenesis and virus-host interaction mechanisms.

On the basis of pre-experiment research and the hypothesis of“amputated lumbricus”, this research was aimed to explore mechanism of active components of the amputated lumbricus to promote wound healing. Skin excision was used to establish the mice model. The amputated lumbricus extract was prepared. HE staining and immunohistochemistry techniques were used in the determination of the wound healing rate and changes of VEGF, bFGF, TGF-β1 expression during wound healing period. The results showed that compared with the blank control group, the healing rate of the amputated lumbricus extract group was better. And the HE staining showed better improvement of traumatic tissues. There was no statistic differences on the expression of VEGF and TGF-β1 between the amputated lumbricus extract group and the normal saline group (P> 0.05). The expression of bFGF in amputated lumbricus extract group reached peak earlier than the control group and also lasted a longer time. The amputated lumbricus extract group reached peak on the first day, which had a significant difference (P < 0.05) compared with the control group at the same timepoint. It was concluded that the external application of amputated lumbricus extract had wound healing effect on traumatic skin of mice. Its mechanism may be irrelevant to the expression of VEGF and TGF-β1. However, it may be related to the increasing of bFGF expression in the injured regions during the inflammation stage and proliferation stage.
