1.MicroRNA and anticancer drug resistance
Cancer Research and Clinic 2011;23(4):283-287
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a small noncoding family of 22 ut RNAs that play an important role in the negative regulation of gene expression at the post-transcriptional level by base pairing to the 3'untranslated region of target messenger RNAs.miRNAs are involved in a variety of basic processes, such as cell proliferation and apoptosis, metabolism and signaling pathways.A lot of studies have indeed described the aberrant expression of miRNAs in human tumors and have investigated their potential role as oncogenes or tumor suppressor genes, depending on the targets they regulate.Furthermore, more and more studies have demonstrated that an important role of miRNAs in anticancer drug resistance and miRNA expression profiling can correlate with the development of anticancer drug resistance.A systematic and intensive study on the mechanisms of miRNA in anticancer drug resistance will provide us a strong rationale for the development of miRNA-based therapeutic strategies aiming to overcome cancer cell resistance. This paper has reviewed the recent development of miRNAs involved in anticancer drug resistance.

International Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2014;(9):1136-1137
Objective To investigate the characteristics of rifampin(RFP) and isoniazid(INH) resistance genes of Mycobacteri-um tuberculosis in Ganzhou region .Methods Gene chip technology was employed to detect common resistance genes in 130 sputum samples with smear positive acid-fast staining and Ct values less than 30 .Results Among 130 samples ,34 samples(26 .2% ) were found resistance ,including 30 samples(23 .1% ) resistant to RFP ,26 samples(20 .0% ) resistant to INH ,and 21 samples(16 .2% ) resistant to both .The mainly mutation of RFP resistant gene was rpoB gene 531(C→ T ) ,accounting for 42 .4% ,while the mainly mutation of INH resistant gene was katG gene 315(AGC→ACC) ,accounting for 65 .4% .Conclusion The mutation charateristics of RFP and INH resistance-associated genes of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in Ganzhou region is consistent with domestic and foreign research .
8.Analysis of diagnosis of lymph node metastasis of esophageal carcinoma by CT compared with pathology
Cancer Research and Clinic 2014;26(3):169-171
Objective To assess the rationality of using CT for clinical staging in esophageal carcinoma. Methods 103 esophageal carcinoma patients with radical resection were selected, patients were examined by CT before surgery. To compare the clinical staging on the basis of CT findings with pathology. Results Lymph node enlargement were mentioned in 29 cases (28.2 %) with CT findings before surgery, but 70 cases (68.0 %) by pathology. The CT findings and pathology were inconsistent (x2 =11.719,P =0.001).Although the pathology staging in the cases which were positive with CT findings could be later (Z =-3.04,P =0.002),there was no correlation between the two methods (x2 =10.885,r =0.055,P =0.055).Conclusion The accuracy rate in esophageal carcinoma clinical staging by CT before surgery is low.Combining with PET-CT or endoscopic ultrasonography may improve the accuracy rate.
9.Dual effects of neutrophil gelatinase associated lipocalin on neoplasmas
International Journal of Surgery 2011;38(6):396-399
Neutrophil gelatinase associated lipocalin(NGAL),also known as lipocalin 2,has close relationship with human neoplasias, which is up-regulated in a number of malignancy and involves in the process of tumor development. But it appears to exist paradoxical effects attributed to NGAL in human neoplasias. For instance, through protecting MMP9 from autodegradation,NGAL has a clear pro-tumoral and pro-metastatic effect,as has already been observed in breast cancer and esophageal cancer. However,on the contrary, for pancreatic cancer and ovarian cancer,NGAL can inhibit FAK phosphorylation and vascular epidermal growth factor synthesis, having an anti-tumoral and anti-metastatic effect. This review summarizes the current knowledge about the dual effects of NGAL in the process of tumor development, and attempts to explore the possible underlyins mechanism.
10.The expression and significance of survivin in hepatocellular carcinoma: a Meta-analysis
Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery 2014;20(2):113-118
Objective To investigate the expression and significance of survivin in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods All reports published in the past 13 years on survivin and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) were reviewed.A Meta-analysis was conducted on these studies and it was used to determine the prognostic significance of the expression of survivin on patients with HCC.Results 18 studies were included into this Meta-analysis.There were 1 021 HCC patients and 208 normal controls. There was a significant difference between the positive rate of survivin in hepatocellular carcinoma and in normal tissues (0R =30.61; 95% CI:16.67-56.23).The expression of survivin correlated with clinical staging, pathological differentiation, tumor metastasis, portal vein tumor thmmbus, and survival (P < 0.05).There was no correlation with gender, age,AFP,HBsAg,tumor diameter, and tumor capsule (P > 0.05).Conclusiom Survivin can be used as a molecular marker for the definitive prognosis of HCC.It is also a reliable marker in the choice of standardized and individualized therapy.
