Objective To explore a salvaging and nursing pathway of gas gangrene following trauma during seismic disaster.Methods The contingency plan of prevention was invocated to physically and psychologically salvage and nurse 18 sufferers having gas gangrene following trauma. Objective To provide useful information on reducing risky drinking for the Dept.of Public Health taking a county in Yunnan province as an example to explore the risk factors related to risky drinking.Methods A total of 574 participants identified as Miao,Yi and Han People at or older than 12 years old,who had been living there for 6 months or more were selected and surveyed in 5 townships in the county through stratified sampling.Alcohol consumption was collected using the beverage-specific quantity frequency (BSQF) method and analyzed using binary logistic regression and chi-square test.Results The number of drinkers in the family,undesirable drinking environment among friends and enculturation (β =0.073) could increase the likelihood of risky drinking.Risky drinking pattern was positively associated with age (β =1.006),and negatively associated with gender (β =-2.947) and awareness of risky drinking among rural residents.Conclusion The important measures to control risky drinking behavior in terms of health promotion and education include reducing the number of drinkers in the family,and preventing from undesirable drinking environment among friends and harmful drinking culture.These measures are crucial to prevent early onset of alcohol drinking among teenagers and to reduce risky drinking among middle aged and aged population.

Objective Determination of polysaccharide content in dried peel seeding watermelon, and its mechanism of lowering blood glucose.Methods The content of polysaccharides in dried peel of seeding watermelon was determined by the method of phenol-sulfuric acid.Mice were given starch and sucrose load,and the mouse blood glucose was examined.The inhibitory activities of seeding watermelon against α-glucosidase were tested by the colorimetry of pNPG.Results The calibration of polysaccharide was A=0.066 4 C+0.022 6, R2=0.999 5, the content of polysaccharide in dried peel of seeding watermelon was 4.45% (n=10,RSD=1.80%);50,100 and 150 mg·kg-1 of polysaccharide could significantly reduce the starch load in mice blood glucose(P<0.01);100 and 150 mg·kg-1 of polysaccharide significantly reduced sucrose load blood glucose(P<0.01);polysaccharide concentration in 18 mg·mL-1 could significantly inhibit the activity of α-glucosidase as the inhibitory rate was (73.19±3.45)% (n=10).Conclusion Seeding watermelon polysaccharide has effect on lowering blood glucose in starch and sucrose load mice, and inhibits α-glucosidase significantly.

Objective The study of loss of heterozygosity (LOH) on chromosome 1p36 was performed to locate the deletion areas probably harboring tumor suppressor genes in invasive ductal breast carcinoma not otherwise specified (IDC NOS).Methods Eighty paired breast cancer/normal tissue DNA samples were examined for LOH on chromosome lp36 using eight polymorphic microsatellite (MS) loci.The PCR products were electrophoresed on 8％ denatured polyacrylamide gel and stained using silver staining.Finally,the data were analysed and compared with the clinicopathological parameters using statistical analysis.Results In 80 IDC NOS,LOH was identified in 45 cases (56.3 ％) at least in one MS locus.MS locus D1S1310 showed the highest rate of LOH [35.7％ (25/70)].Conclusion Chromosome 1p36 might be the highly deleted region.The results of this study indicate that the chromosomal regions 1p36.23-33 might contain tumor suppressor genes associated with human breast carcinomas.

BACKGROUND:There are few reports concerning effects of warming the yang and benefiting the marrow for the knee osteoarthritis on the expression of matrix metal oproteinase.
OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of warming the yang and benefiting the marrow on the expression of matrix metal oproteinase in rabbit models of knee osteoarthritis.
METHODS:Of 96 healthy adult New Zealand rabbits, 72 rabbits were randomly selected for making rabbit models of knee osteoarthritis using plaster external fixation. After success model establishment, the rabbits were randomly assigned to three groups. Model group was left intact. Chinese medicine group received daily intragastric administration of drug extract 24 mL/kg. Drug control group was daily intragastrical y administered Puli Capsule (glucosamine hydrochloride) 24 mg/kg, once a day, until the eighth week of success model induction. An additional 24 New Zealand rabbits served as blank controls.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Using quantitative PCR, matrix metal oproteinase-1, matrix metal oproteinase-3 and matrix metal oproteinase-13 expression was significantly higher in the model group than that in the other three groups. Matrix metal oproteinase-1, matrix metal oproteinase-3 and matrix metal oproteinase-13 expression was significantly lower in the Chinese medicine group and drug control group than that in the model group. These results indicated that warming the yang and benefiting the marrow for knee osteoarthritis in rabbits could effectively inhibit the expression of matrix metal oproteinase in rabbits.

Objective To analyze optimal amount of drinking water,ways of drinking water,timelimit of drinking water on the effect of bowel preparation for intravenous pyelography (IVP) examination after oral administration of 50% magnesium sulfate 60 ml. Methods 200 patients who gave their consentfrom June 2009 to February 2010 drank 50% magnesium sulfate 60 ml for IVP check were divided into four groups. Group A: a large amount of graded oral administration of warm water 1200 ml within 1h; Group B: a small amount of oral administration of warm water 1200 ml within 1h;Group C: a large amount of graded oral administration of warm water 2000 ml within 1h; Group D: a medium amount of graded oral administration of warm water 1200 ml within 2 h. And then the bowel preparation effect of the four gro ups were analyzed. Results Through the comparison, group A was much better than the other groups on the aspects of cathartic satisfaction, the effective degree of reading films and flatulence. Conclusions To take a large amount of graded oral administration of warm water 1200 ml within 1h can improve cathartic satisfaction,the effective degree of reading films and flatulence.

Through analyzing the current situation and coverage controversy of Chinese clinical trial insurance,this paper stated that the attending insurance rate in domestic clinical trials was entirely low.The sponsors,clinical trial institutions,investigators and insurance companies paid attention of different levels to clinical trial insurance.Therefore,the risk awareness of drug/medical device clinical trials should be enhanced.It is necessary to give impetus to clinical trial insurance system,during which all parties need to make a joint effort including government departments,ethics committees,sponsors,clinical trial institutions,investigators and insurance companies.

Objective: To observe the safety of the Song-Relaxing and Zhen-Vibrating abdomen manipulation in treating patients with prediabetes and its effects on blood glucose and lipid metabolism.Methods: One hundred and two patients with prediabetes were divided into a manipulation group and a control group according to the random number table method, with 51 cases in each group. All patients received the general behavioral intervention for prediabetes, with additional Song-Relaxing and Zhen-Vibrating abdomen manipulation in the manipulation group and oral metformin hydrochloride tablets in the control group. Both groups received the intervention for six months. Results: Fourteen patients dropped out during the treatment, and a total of 88 patients completed the trial, including 45 cases in the manipulation group and 43 cases in the control group. After the treatment, the prediabetes control rate was 93.3％ in the manipulation group and 74.4％ in the control group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05); no patient in the manipulation group progressed to diabetes, while the rate of conversion to diabetes in the control group was 6.9％, with a significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). After the treatment, the body mass index (BMI), glycosylated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), fasting plasma glucose (FPG), 2-hour postload plasma glucose (2hPG) level during an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), fasting insulin (FINS), homeostasis model assessment-2 of insulin resistance (HOMA2-IR), total cholesterol (TC), and triglycerides (TG) decreased in both groups versus baseline, with significant differences within the groups; the levels of all indicators were lower in the manipulation group than in the control group (P<0.05), and the differences between the two groups were more prominent at the sixth month (P<0.01). At the sixth month, the high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in the manipulation group was increased, while there was no significant change in the control group. In the control group, three patients reported mild gastrointestinal reactions at the initial dosing, which improved after medication adjustment. No other adverse events were observed in either group. Conclusion: Both metformin hydrochloride tablets and the Song-Relaxing and Zhen-Vibrating abdomen manipulation can improve blood glucose and lipid metabolism and reduce insulin resistance and clinical discomfort in patients with prediabetes, but the Song-Relaxing and Zhen-Vibrating abdomen manipulation has higher efficacy and safety.

Methods The data from 314 hospitalized premature infants ( 268 cases of AGA and 46 cases of SGA) during January 2012 to December 2014 were retrospectively collected. Aim To investigate the effects of Naotai formula extract(NTE)on the expression of heme oxygenase-1(HO-1) and hephaestin(Heph) in hippocampus of rats after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion by Keap1-Nrf2/ARE signaling pathway.Methods Eighty rats were randomly divided into five groups as follows: sham operation group(Sham), cerebral ischemia/reperfusion group(I/R), low dose group of NTE(4.5 g·kg-1), middle dose group of NTE (9 g·kg-1) and high dose group of NTE(18 g·kg-1).Rats were pretreated by intragastric administration for three consecutive days, and then subjected to middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) 2 hours before reperfusion.The rats were administered with intragastric administration for two days.After cerebral ischemia reperfusion 72 hours, the behavioral activity of rats was recorded by Zea Longa neurological score, and the infarct volume was measured by TTC staining.The expressions of Nrf2, HO-1 and Heph in hippocampus of cerebral ischemia reperfusion rats were observed by real-time quantitative PCR and Western blot, respectively.Results Compared with model group, the neurobehavioral scores significantly decreased in NTE high-dose and middle-dose groups (P<0.01);the infarct volume of NTE groups markedly decreased (P<0.01);the expression of HO-1 mRNA apparently increased (P<0.05) in NTE groups;the expression of Heph mRNA significantly increased in NTE middle-dose and high-dose groups (P<0.05);the expression of Nrf2 and Heph protein evidently increased in the NTE middle and high dose groups (P<0.05, P<0.01);and the expression of HO-1 protein also increased in NTE groups(P<0.01).Conclusions Naotai formula can relieve cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury.The mechanism might be associated with activating Keap1-Nrf2/ARE signaling pathways, promoting HO-1 generation, advancing the expression of Heph, and then reducing brain iron deposition, to achieve the protection of neurons after cerebral ischemia-reperfusion.
