1.HISTOCHEMICAL DEMONSTRATION OF PROSTAGLANDIN SYNTHETASE IN MAST CELL
Acta Anatomica Sinica 1953;0(01):-
Thymus, lymph node and intestine (two pieces each) were taken from 20 adult guinea pigs and 10 adult rats. One piece was frozen in liquid nitrogen (-70℃) and cryostat sections were stained with Janszen and Nugteren (1971) method to demonstrate prostaglandin synthetase activity, Another piece was fixed in methanol, and paraffin sections were stained with HE and toluidin blue to demonstrate mast cell. Teased preparation of mesentery were stained by the same methods to show enzyme activity. Indomethacin inhibiting test was used as control. It is proven that the brown deposit represented the prostaglandin synthetase activity. These deposit existed in cytoplasm of mast cell, while and was absent in nucleus and specific granules. Prostaglandin synthetase positive mast cells distributed widely in lamina propria, axis of villi and submucosal layer in intestine, capsule, septa and medulla in thymus; capsule, trabecullum and paracortical zone of lymph node.

Acta Anatomica Sinica 1989;0(S1):-
Enzyme linked lectin assay (ELLA) and lectin cytochemical staining are employed to study of WGA receptor on human sperm membrane of 44 fertile and 40 unexplained infertile males in this experiment. Binding capacity of sperm from fertile and infertile males, on the average, showed 16.3?10~7 and 9.39?10~7 WGA-HRP molecules per sperm, respectively (P

AIM: To explore the cellular mechanisms by which GLP-1(7-36)NH 2 stimulates insulin secretion in ?-cells. METHODS: Using adherent cell analysis and sorting cytometer (ACAS) by DiBAC 4(3) as a probe, effects of glucagon-like peptide-1(7-36)NH 2 on membrane potential was investigated in cultured neonatal rat pancreatic islet ?-cells,and radio immunological methods were used to determine the amount of insulin secretion in different glucose concentrations. RESULTS: In the presence of 2.8 mmol/L glucose,GLP-1(7-36)NH 2 could not increase insulin secretion and could not change membrane potentials of ?-cells;In the presence of 5.6,16.7 mmol/L glucose,GLP-1(7-36)NH 2 produced a marked increase in insulin secretion and enhanced the depolarization of ?-cells.In 16.7 mmol/L glucose, EGTA or nifedipine completely blocked GLP-1(7-36)NH 2-induced insulin secretion and changes in membrane potentials of ?-cells. CONCLUSION: GLP-1(7-36)NH 2 stimulates insulin secretion in a glucose concentration-dependent manner,it can enhance the depolarization of ?-cells caused by glucose.

(man and ram)The interstitial tissue was assessed by both parameters:(A″—A′)/N:ratio of interstitial tissue area and the number of seminiferous tubules;(A″—A′)/A′:ratio of interstitial tissue area and the total cellular area of seminiferous tubules. There is also a siginificant difference between various species for these parameters: the value of guinea pig is the smallest, while the value of swine is the largest. It was proved that the value of (A″—A′)/N of every species is closely related to the value of (A″—A′)/A′, and eight linear regressional equations were established. All these results have provided important data for further study of male reproductive physiology and male contraception research.

Objective To evaluate the effect of shielding at the outside of radiation field by measuring the dose absorbed by the tissue outside the field in radiation therapy. Methods The dose absorbed by the tissue at 1cm offset the field was measured ofter setting radiation field and dose. The dose was measured again with shielding at the outside of radiation field in same field size and with the same prescription dose for comparison. Results The doses with or without shielding had distinct differences(P

Nucleoside analogues have been the mainstay of clinical treatment of herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) infections since their development. However, the emergence of drug resistant strains has underlined the urgency of the discovery of novel anti-HSV-1 drugs. Natural products, which provided many novel drug leads, are known to be an important source of anti-HSV-1 agents. Herein, we present an overview of natural products with anti-HSV-1 activities isolated from a variety of plants reported in recent years. Several different compounds, mainly belonging to the three groups of polysaccharides, polyphenols and terpenes, showed antiviral effects against HSV-1, indicating their potential to be promising anti-HSV-1 agents.

Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD)characterized as the abnormal development of premature lung and trachea influenced by perinatal factors is the most common respiratory disease in very premature infants, and is also one of the diseases confirmedly related to poor quality of life. With the advancement of neonatal research and the im-provement in clinical care, more very premature infants with BPD survived to discharge.BPD is becoming the disease which both neonatologists and pediatricians should pay much attention to.The definition of BPD in recent years is in controversy. In this paper, the physiologic definition of BPD was comprehensively reviewed as a recently more accepted definition.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of fractionated CO2 laser combined with 308-nm excimer laser for the treatment of stable vitiligo. Methods Forty-nine patients with 109 lesions of stable vitiligo were enrolled in this clinical trial. Each of these lesions was equally divided into 2 parts along the longest diameter, which were then assigned into the treatment group and control group respectively. The treatment group were treated with fractionated CO2 laser radiation for 15-20 minutes once every two weeks combined with 308-nm excimer laser radiation twice weekly. The control group were only treated with 308-nm excimer laser radiation twice weekly.Efficacy was evaluated on day 3 after 12 consecutive weeks of treatment. Results After the treatment, the total response rate in the treatment group and control group was 92.7% (101/109) and 77.1% (84/109) respectively. The marked response rate in the treatment group and control group was 85.4% (35/41) and 65.8% (27/41) respectively for lesions on the face and neck (x2 =4.23,P < 0.05),70.6% (24/34) and 41.2% (14/34) respectively for lesions on the trunk (x2 =7.27,P< 0.01),64.0% (16/25) and 36.0% (9/25) respectively for lesions on the extremities (x2 =3.92,P < 0.05),5/9 and 1/9 respectively for lesions on the dorsal hands (X2 =4.00,P < 0.05).The number of sessions of 308-nm excimer laser therapy required for the marked response of vitiligo in the treatment group and control group was 7.24 ± 1.23 and 10.81 ± 2.01 respectively for lesions on the face and neck (t =9.70,P < 0.05),15.10 ± 2.47 and 18.95 ± 3.45 respectively for lesions on the trunk (t =5.29,P< 0.05),17.37 ± 3.84 and 21.06 ± 4.23 respectively for lesions on the extremities (t =3.23,P < 0.05).No severe adverse reactions were observed in any of the patients during the treatment. Conclusion Fractionated CO2 laser combined with 308-nm excimer laser is effective and safe in treating stable vitiligo.
