Parkinson’ s disease ( PD) is a common disease in central nervous system, for which an effective treatment has yet to be found. The causes of PD include genetic, environmental, aging factors, etc. There is a common factor which can lead to the degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia:mito-chondrial damage and repair. This paper has summarized the en-vironmental and genetic factors that can cause mitochondrial damage in dopaminergic neurons, and outlined several mitochon-drial repairing pathways ( such as mitophagy) in the treatment of PD. It also analyzes the research situation of utilizing natural medicine in the therapy of PD from the perspective of the mito-chondrial protection.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2016;20(36):5450-5457
BACKGROUND:Efficacy of stem cel therapy is considerably influenced by oxidative stress. Sirtuin (SIRT) family of mammals is an important deacetylation and antioxidant enzyme that can regulate endogenous antioxidant activities in stem cel s and cel cycle related signaling pathways to reduce the damage and enhance the viability of stem cel s.
OBJECTIVE:To review the regulating function and mechanism of SIRT family.
METHODS:A computer-based search of Web of Science, PubMed and CNKI from 1990 to 2015 was performed for relevant articles about SIRT and stem cel oxidative stress, using the key words of“SIRT, stem cel , oxidative stress, molecular mechanisms”in English and Chinese, respectively. After eliminating literatures which have poor authority or have similar contents, 55 articles were involved.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:NAD+-dependent SIRT family is the key enzyme for deacetylation of histones and other proteins. It plays vital regulation roles in metabolism, genomic stability, DNA damage/repair, and chromatin remodeling/stress reaction. Progress in the SIRT-targeted stem cel research wil definitely provide more clues for clinical stem cel transplantation therapy.

Herpes simplex virus type Ⅰ(HSV-1) is a common pathogen, and human is the only natural host of it.Following a period of lytic replication in epithelial cells, HSV-1 enters axon terminals of sensory neurons and then travels via retrograde transport to the sensory ganglia where latency can be established.Upon the stimulation of some stressors, the latent virus can reactivate, leading to recurrent diseases. Therefore, to clarify the mechanism of HSV-1 latent infection and stress-induced reactivation will offer new insights into the prevention, treatment and control of HSV-1 infection. In this review, we describes the mechanisms underlying HSV-1 latent infection and stress-induced reactivation.

Chinese Journal of Stomatology 2002;37(4):284-286
OBJECTIVETo establish a method of culturing endothelial cells (EC) from human vascular malformation.
METHODSVenous malformation specimens obtained from the patient undergoing oral surgery were plated into glass, plastic and gelatin-coated dishes. Pure cultures of human vascular malformation endothelial cells (VMEC) were isolated by the ways of discarding the tissues at early stage of primary culture, scraping and trypsinizing. Morphological characteristics were studied under phase-contrast microscope and electron microscope (EM), and determined by immunohistochemistry.
RESULTSThe cells were pure and could be maintained in culture up to 4 approximately 5 passages, or 40 approximately 50 days. VMEC formed contact-inhibited "cobblestone" monolayer on glass and plastic, and capillary-like "tubes" on gelatin. EM revealed that there were Weibel-Palade bodies in the culture cells. The cells showed positive staining for CD(34), vWF, and negative for alpha-SMA.
CONCLUSIONSThe culture technique for growing VMEC has been established. And these cells can provide a useful tool for studying biological characteristics of human vascular malformation in vitro.

OBJECTIVE:To esta blish a UPLC fingerprint of Pyrrosia petiolosa from southwest China ,and to determine the contents of 4 kinds of phenolic acids (neochlorogenic acid ,caffeic acid ,chlorogenic acid and cryptochlorogenic acid ). METHODS:The determination was performed on Waters Cortecs T 3 C18 column(100 mm×2.1 mm,1.6 μm)with mobile phase consisted of methanol- 0.1% phosphoric acid (gradient elution )at the flow rate of 0.35 mL/min. The detection wavelength was set at 326 nm. The column temperature was 30 ℃,and injection volume was 1 μL. UPLC method was used to establish the UPLC fingerprint of P. petiolosa in combination with the Similarity Evaluation System of TCM Chromatographic Fingerprints (2012 edition). Cluster analysis and principle component analysis (PCA)were performed by using SPSS 20.0 software. The contents of 4 kinds of phenolic acids in 20 batches of P. petiolosa were determined by external standard method. RESULTS :There were 9 common peaks for the UPLC fingerprint of P. petiolosa . Peaks 1,3,4,5 and 9 were identified as neochlorogenic acid ,caffeic acid, chlorogenic acid ,cryptochlorogenic acid and isochlorogenic acid C ,respectively. RSDs of the relative retention time of each peak in different batches of P. petiolosa were 0-0.68%,and the RSDs of the relative peak area were 0-62.35%. The similarities between the fingerprint of 20 batches of medicinal materials and the control chromatogram were not less than 0.990. The result of cluster analysis showed that P. petiolosa from different regions could be sorted into three species. Results of PCA showed the differences among P. petiolosa from different regions. The linear range of neochlorogenic acid ,caffeic acid ,chlorogenic acid and cryptochlorogenic acid were 0.61-61.41,0.18-17.60,2.00-200.11,0.62-61.51 μ g/mL (R2>0.999 9). RSDs of precision , reproducibility and stability tests were all lower than 2.00%. The recoveries were 96.23%-98.17%(RSD=0.96%-2.28%, n=6). Among 20 batches of samples ,the contents of above 4 kinds of phenolic acids were 0.385 3-1.891 9,0.018 0-0.129 5,2.569 5-10.676 0,0.563.5-1.860 5 mg/g. CONCLUSIONS : The established UPL C fingerprint could reflect the main chemical constituents of P. pedunculata . Phenolic acids could be used as the main evaluation indexes for the quality of P. petiolosa . The quality order of P. petiolosa from southwest China was Chongqing product>Sichuan product >Guizhou product.
