Objective To research the effective protection from microwaves radiated from mobile telephones. Methods The observed mobile telephone was covered with a compound membrane developed by us and made from metal foil, metal silk screen, graphite and binder with a thickness of 0.5 mm. The electromagnetic field intensities were determined at 2.6 cm far from the front of the speaker, screen and keyboard of the observed mobile telephones covered with protective membrane or not. Objective To analyze the effect of traditional Chinese combined with Western medicine on the treatment of supracondylar fracture of humerus, and provide reference for clinical treatment.Methods122 patients with supracondylar fracture of humerus in hospital the affiliated hospital of traditional Chinese and western medicine;Zhejiang Chinese Medicine University from January 2015 to March 2016 were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group.The control group were given conventional fracture reduction, the observation group were given a new therapy of integrated traditional and western.Treatment outcome, quality of life changes and prognosis in the two groups were compared.ResultsThe excellent rate in the observation group (91.8%) was significantly higher than that in the control group (72.1%) (P<0.05).The fracture healing time in the observation group (4.1±1.1)months was significantly shorter than that in the control group (6.6±2.3) months (P<0.05).Before treatment, there was no significant difference in quality of life scores between the two groups;after treatment the overall health in the observation group (75.69±4.61), physiological function (77.62±4.19), pain (74.63±4.96), social function (76.84±4.28), mental health (76.12±4.18) scores were significantly higher than those overall health(62.74±4.36) in the control group, physiological function (64.51±4.12), pain (67.26±4.25), social function(68.72±4.13), mental health (65.97±4.23) (P<0.05).There were 2 cases with cubitus varus in the observation group, while 3 cases with elbow inversion in the control group.All patients were followed up for more than 6 months.There was no serious infection and abnormal bone development in the two groups.ConclusionIt can improve the treatment effect, reduce the pain of patients, promote the rapid recovery of the disease, improve the quality of life and prognosis, which traditional Chinese medicine combined with Western medicine was used in the treatment of humeral supracondylar fracture, it has the value of use.

This review summarizes the epidemiology, etiology, clinical manifestation, treatment, follow-up of neonatal lupus erythematosus with focus on new discoveries on the etiology of the disease in recent years including anti-SSA/Ro and anti-SSB/La antibodies, serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine 4), apoptosis of cardiac cells, calcium channels, maternal micro-chimera, genetic variants, to improve clinician awareness of the disease.

Accurate prediction of the translation initiation site (TIS) is an important issue for prokaryotic genome annotation. However, it is still a challenge for the existing methods to predict the TIS in the genomes over a wide variety of GC content. Besides, the existing methods have not yet undergone a comprehensive evaluation, leaving prediction reliability as a largely open problem. A new algorithm MED-StartPlus, a tool that predicts TIS in prokaryotic genomes with a wide variety of GC content was presented. It makes several efforts to model the nucleotide composition bias, the regulatory motifs upstream of the TIS, the sequence patterns around the TIS, and the operon structure. Tests on hundreds of reliable data sets, with TISs confirmed by experiments or having annotated functions, show that the new method achieves a totally high accuracy of TIS prediction. Compared with existing TIS predictors, the method reports a totally higher performance, especially for genomes that are GC-rich or have complex initiation mechanisms. The potential application of the method to improve the TIS annotation deposited in the public database was also proposed.

Objective To explore the cognitive status of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients, and to explore the involved cognitive domains, subtypes and risk factors of mild cognitive impairment in ALS ( ALS-MCI).Methods Twenty-nine cases of ALS and 58 healthy volunteers were included.The severity of the bulbar and spinal functions of the patients was evaluated by the Improved Norris Scale.According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 4th Edition-Revised( DSM-Ⅳ-R) criteria of dementia, ALS cases were classified as demented and non-demented.For non-demented ALS cases, the common cognitive batteries evaluating mental state, verbal memory, executive, attentional and visuospatial abilities were performed.Hamilton Anxiety Scale ( HAMA) and Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) were evaluated too.They were further classified into ALS-cognitively normal (ALS-CogNL) and ALS-MCI groups according to Petersen criteria of MCI.Risk factors possibly correlated with ALS-MCI were analyzed by comparing the differences in age, age of onset, duration of the disease, sites of onset, symptoms of bulbar and limb function between ALS-CogNL and ALS-MCI groups.Results Among 29 ALS cases, 14 (48.3% ) cases with cognitively normal( ALS-CogNL), 15 cases (51.7% ) with ALS-MCI,and none with dementia were identified.Among 15 ALS-MCI cases, 12 cases with executive dysfunction, 8 cases with memory deficits,9 cases with attention impairment and none with visuospatial impairment were found.ALSMCI cases could be further classified into three subtypes; 1 case with amnestic MCI (aMCI) ,6 cases with single domain non-memory MCI ( sdMCI), and 8 cases with multiple domains slightly impaired MCI (mdMCI).Between ALS-MCI and ALS-CogNL groups, there were significant differences (t = -2.435,- 2.576, both P ＜ 0.05) in education ((8.7 ± 2.8) years vs (11.3 ± 3.0) years) and Improved Norrisscale (bulbar score: (28.4 ± 7.7) scores vs ( 34.0 ± 3.4) scores) , however, no significant differences in sex, age, age of onset, duration,site of onset,HAMA or HAMD scores,and Improved Norris scale( spinal score) were found.Conclusions Cognitive deficits commonly exist in ALS patients.For the involved domains, executive dysfunction is the most common, deficits of attention and memory are also common, and deficit in visuospatial function is not found.The most common subtype of ALS-MCI is mdMCI.Severe bulbar symptoms and lower education may be the risk factors of ALS-MCI.

Objective To investigate the protective effect of protocatechuic acid(PCA)on the PC12 cell model of Alzheimer’s disease(AD)and to explore its mechanism . Methods Amyloid beta peptide 1-42(Aβ1-42)fiber polymers were identified by immunofluorescence. After PC12 cells were stimulated with the Aβ1-42 fiber polymers, the cellular morphology was observed at different time points of hour 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 24 , and the cellular viability was tested by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium(MTT)assay to monitor the modeling condition. The effect of PCA on PC12 cells was detected after PC12 cells were pretreated with the different contentions of PCA. Autophagy-related marker Beclin1 protein level was detected by Western blotting method to investigate the protective mechanism of PCA. Results Aggregated white Aβ1-42 mass was stable at hour 12 and 24, and showed no significant difference between the two time points, the cell damage rate being 40%. Therefore, we defined culturing time being 12 and 24 hours as the modeling condition of AD model. The cell viability was increased with 200-800 μmol/L of PCA after culturing for 24 hours(P<0.01) , and the Western blotting results showed that the Beclin1 protein expression was up-regulated by PCA. Conclusion PCA prevents PC12 cells from Aβ1-42-induced toxicity, the mechanism being related with the increase of cellular autophagy.

[Objective]To study the academic characteristics of the diagnosis and treatment of measles in FENG's Secret Book of Medicine,so as to provide schemes for the diagnosis and treatment of measles.[Methods]Taking the section of measles in FENG's Secret Book of Medicine as the main object of the study,the article systematically studied the characteristics of FENG's diagnosis and treatment of measles by combining the relevant contents in Inner Canon of Huangdi,Yi Guan and some other writings.[Results]FENG Zhaozhang was one of the physicians who systematically studied measles earliest in the history of Chinese medicine.In terms of diagnosis,he judged the severity of the disease by color,shape,location of the erythra and general condition of the patient,and differentiated measles from febrile diseases,smallpox and other diseases.In terms of treatment,he agreed with the predecessors on treating measles by cooling and diffusing,and he specialized in dissipating excessive stagnation of fire and eliminating fire by diaphoresis and purgation respectively.However,he clearly pointed out that the pathogenesis of measles was not only fire in lung and stomach,but also deficiency in spleen,stomach and Mingmen,and treating deficiency syndromes should always be based on strengthening the vitality,which had corrected the abuse of cooling and diffusing medicine in the treatment of measles through the ages.In addition,FENG's experience of nursing and treating pregnancy combined with measles was also of significance.[Conclusion]FENG Zhaozhang was well-experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of measles,and established complete theories,methods and prescriptions,which provided theories and methods for the diagnosis and treatment of measles,and was of significant value.

Objective:To explore the application of OTSU-based self-attenuation correction PET (sacPET) reconstruction technology in 18F-florbetapir (AV45) imaging. Methods:From November 2018 to December 2019, 7 confirmed Alzheimer′s disease (AD) patients (4 males, 3 females, age (69.6±4.5)years) and 3 healthy controls (HC; 1 male, 2 females, age (68.0±4.6) years) were recruited prospectively for 18F-AV45 PET imaging in the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University. Original data collected by PET acquisition was processed with sacPET reconstruction and then compared with standard PET images by visual analysis and semi-quantitative analysis. Fisher exact test, Kappa test and Pearson correlation analysis were used to analyze data. Results:In HC group and AD group, the radioactive distribution showed by sacPET images and that by standard PET images were similar, and the contrast of gray-white matter in sacPET images was weaker than that in standard PET images. Moreover, the positive uptake area of the cortex in the AD group was smaller than that in standard PET images. Visual analysis showed 19 positive regions in sacPET images and 22 in standard PET images, with no statistical difference of positive rates of the sub-regions in the cortex between the two PET images (all P>0.05), and the overall consistency of 88.00% (44/50; Kappa=0.75 (95% CI: 0.57-0.94), P<0.05). Semi-quantitative analysis showed that the standardized uptake value ratio (SUVR) of frontal lobe and cingulate gyrus measured by sacPET was lower than that measured by standard PET (0.93±0.06 vs 0.96±0.06 and 0.99±0.04 vs 1.01±0.04; t values: 5.30 and 5.10, both P<0.01), while SUVR of parietal lobe, temporal lobe and occipital lobe measured by sacPET was higher than that measured by standard PET (0.78±0.08 vs 0.68±0.07, 0.97±0.07 vs 0.91±0.08 and 0.94±0.11 vs 0.71±0.12; t values: 6.27, 7.36 and 16.90, all P<0.01). The overall SUVR of sacPET images was significantly correlated with the standard PET images ( r=0.75, P<0.001). Conclusion:For 18F-AV45 imaging, sacPET reconstruction technology can obtain reliable and effective PET images without CT data, but its accuracy and precision still need to be improved.

This article describes the design and development of an ultrasonic power meter which is consist of an electronic balance, a practice target, an acoustic enclosures and a blocking. The electronic balance mounted on the blocking is linked with the practice target by connecting rod. By adjusting the blocking makes the practice target suspended above ultrasound probe, and then the ultrasonic power can be measured. After initial tests, the ultrasonic power meter performanced with good stability and high precision.

Objective To explore the best operation method in the patients with papillary thyroid microcarcinoma.Methods A total of 139 patients with papillary thjroid microcarcinoma were treated at our institute between Jan.2000 and Jan.2010.The data on the clinicopathological characteristics of patients and treatment were collected.Results The mean tumor size was (0.45 ± 0.24) cm.Of the 139 patients,30.2％ had multifocal tumors,19.4％ had bilateral tumors,42.4％ neck lymph node metastases.The number of eases of lymph node metastasis in level Ⅵ,Ⅱa,Ⅲ and Ⅳ was 58(41.7％),3(2.2％),10(7.9％),5(3.6％),respectively.Only one had lymph node metastasis in Level Ⅲ Microscopic extrathyroid extension was associated with neck lymph node metastases in papillary thyroid microcareinoma patients (x2 =38.39,P ＜0.001).No one developed permanent hypoparathyroidism.The median follow-up time was 103 (range,30-154) months,and local recurrence in the thyoid was diagnosed in 2 patients who underwent hemi-or subtotal thyroidectomy.Follow-up of 10 years was done in 16 cases,and the survival rate of 139 patients for 10-year was 100％.Conclusions It suggested that patients with papillary thyroid microcarcinoma has uniform clinicopathologic characteristics and the pattern of lymph node metastasis from those with papillary thyroid carcinoma.Total thyroidectomy plus level Ⅵ dissection is the optimal surgical treatment of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma.
