This study was aimed to observe the clinical effect of acupuncture together with warm acupuncture on fe-male type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients of dual deficiency of yin and yang syndrome. A total of 92 female T2DM patients of dual deficiency of yin and yang syndrome were divided into two groups, which were priority of yin deficiency in the type of dual deficiency of yin and yang (group 1) and priority of yang deficiency in the type of dual deficiency of yin and yang (group 2). There were 46 cases in each group. The treatment of acupuncture together with warm acupuncture was given for three month. The observation was made on the fasting plasma glucose (FPG), fasting leptin (FLP), fasting insulin (FINS), insulin sensitivity index (ISI), insulin resistance index (Homa-IR), insulin secre-tion index (Homa-β), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high den-sity lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), body mass, body mass index (BMI) and body fat percentage (F%) before and af-ter treatment. The results showed that the total effective rate of group 1 was 69.57%, while the total effective rate of group 2 was 84.78%. There was no significant statistical difference between two groups. Compared with pretreatment, there were significant decrease on FLP, FPG, FINS, Homa-IR, TC, TG, LDL-C, body mass, BMI, and F% of both groups after treatment (P < 0.01). There was obvious increase on ISI, Homa-β, and HDL-C (P < 0.01). After treat-ment, the FPG, Homa-β and BMI of group 2 were better than group 1 (P< 0.05). After treatment, the level of LDC-C and HDC-L of both groups reached normal level. And the FPG of group 2 also reached normal level. It was con-cluded that acupuncture together with warm acupuncture can significantly adjust the level of fat-pancreatic islet shaft of T2DM patients of dual deficiency of yin and yang syndrome, reduce the leptin resistance and insulin resistance, enhance the sensibility of insulin and the function of pancreatic β cell, and correct the endocrine disorder, gly-cometabolism disorder and lipometabolism disorder. Acupuncture together with warm acupuncture did much better in lowering blood sugar and improving the function of pancreatic β cells of T2DM patients whose priority of yang defi-ciency in the type of dual deficiency of yin and yang than those whose priority of yin deficiency in the type of dual deficiency of yin and yang.

Objective To investigate the role of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α/ hexokinase Ⅱ (HIF-1α/HKⅡ) signaling pathway in the inhibition of hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R)-induced apoptosis in the rat cardiomyocytes by hypoxic preconditioning (HPC).Methods Primarily cultured cardiomyocytes obtained from the neonatal rats were seeded in culture dishes at the density of 5× 105cells/ml.The cardiomyocytes were attached to the wall for 72 h and then randomly divided into 6 groups (n=15 each) using a random number table:control group (group C);group H/R;group HPC;HIF-1o inhibitor YC-1 group (group YC-1);group HPC + YC-1;dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) group. The ceils were exposed to D-Hank solution saturated with 95% N2 and 5% CO2 for 4 h,and then cultured in the normal culture atmosphere for 2 h.The cells in YC-1 and DMSO groups were incubated in the culture medium containing 10 μmol/l YC-1 and 0.1% DMSO (100 μl) for 24 b,respectively.HPC was induced by 3 cycles of 10 min hypoxia followed by 30 min reoxygenation, and H/R injury model was then established in group HPC.In group HPC+YC-1,the cells were incubated for 5 min in the M199 culture medium supplemented with 10 μmol/L YC-1 and 10% fetal bovine serum, and the other treatments were similar to those previously described in group HPC.After the end of treatments, the apoptosis in cardiomyocytes was detected by TUNEL,the expression of HIF-1α,HKⅡ and cytochrome c was detected by Western blot, and the mitochondrial membrane potential was quantitatively measured using fluorescence.Apoptotic rate was calculated. Results Compared with group C,the apoptotic rate was significantly increased, the mitochondrial membrane potential was significantly decreased, and the expression of HIF-1α,HKⅡ and cytochrome c was significantly up-regulated in group H/R (P<0.05).Compared with group H/R,the apoptotic rate was significantly decreased, and the mitochondrial membrane potential was significantly increased, and the expression of HIF-1αt and HKⅡ was significantly up-regulated,and the expression of cytochrome c was significantly down-regulated in group HPC (P<0.05).Compared with group HPC,the apoptotic rate was significantly increased, the mitochondrial membrane potential was significantly decreased, the expression of HIF-1α and HKⅡ was significantly down-regulated,and the expression of cytochrome c was significantly up-regulated in group HPC+YC-1 (P<0.05).Conclusion The mechanism by which HPC inhibits H/R-induced apoptosis in rat cardiomyocytes is associated with activation of HIF-1α/HKⅡ signaling pathway.

Objective:
To investigate the trends in incidence of viral hepatitis in Yuxi City, Yunnan Province from 2004 to 2022, so as to provide insights into the management of viral hepatitis.
Methods:
Data of viral hepatitis cases in Yuxi City from 2004 to 2022 were retrieved from the China Disease Prevention and Control Information System. The temporal, human and spatial distribution of viral hepatitis cases were analyzed using a descriptive epidemiological method, and the trends in incidence of viral hepatitis were evaluated in Yuxi City from 2004 to 2022 using annual percent change (APC) and average APC (AAPC).
Results:
A total of 37 430 viral hepatitis cases were reported in Yuxi City from 2004 to 2022, with an average annual incidence rate of 91.27/105, and the incidence showed a tendency towards a rise (AAPC=12.686, P<0.05). There were 29 229 cases with hepatitis B, 5 796 cases with hepatitis C, 1 451 cases with hepatitis A, 520 cases with hepatitis E and 434 cases with unclassified hepatitis reported in Yuxi City, with average annual incidence rates of 71.27/105, 14.13/105, 3.54/105, 1.27/105 and 1.06/105, respectively. The average annual incidence rates of viral hepatitis were 98.24/105 and 78.94/105 among men and women, which both appeared a tendency towards a rise (AAPC=12.415% and 12.581%, both P<0.05). The highest average annual incidence of viral hepatitis was seen among residents at age of 25 to 29 years (139.89/105), with the lowest seen among residents at ages of 0 to 4 years (11.38/105), and the average annual incidence of viral hepatitis appeared a tendency towards a rise with age (P<0.05). The highest average annual incidence of viral hepatitis was seen in Huaning County (234.24/105), with the lowest seen in Chengjiang City (26.11/105), and the average annual incidence appeared a tendency towards a rise in Xinping County from 2004 to 2022 (AAPC=21.451%, P<0.05).
Conclusions
The reported incidence of viral hepatitis appeared a tendency towards a rise in Yuxi City from 2004 to 2022, with hepatitis B as the main type. High incidence was seen among men and adolescents. The viral hepatitis control strategy requires to be adjusted with adaptations to high-incidence hepatitis subgroups, residents and regions.
