1.Effects of chromium rutin on metabolism of blood lipid in rats

AIM: To study the effects of chromium rutin synthesized with rutin and chromium (Ⅲ) on metabolism of blood lipid. METHODS: The effects of chromium rutin on metabolism of blood lipid were evaluated by the changes of triglyceride, cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, and LDL cholesterol in normal rats and the rats with high blood lipid. RESULTS: Chromium rutin could increase the blood chromium, decrease the concentrations of triglyceride, cholesterlo and LDL cholestelol,and increase the concentration of HDL cholesterol in normal and the rats with high blood lipid rats. CONCLUSION: Chromium rutin has an effect on the blood lipid in rats.
2.A method for recording tension changes in small artery in vitro

Aim To establish a method for recording tension changes in small artery in vitro.Methods The vessel segments of intestine were dissected from the mesenteric artery of rats and mounted onto Myograph.The internal circumferences of the segments were normalized with Chart5 software.Then the internal diameters of the segments and initial setting of tension were calculated with self-made Excel file.Following these preparation steps, the tension changes induced by several stimulations were recorded by Myograph.Results Normalization procedure provided the data of lumen diameters of small arteries,which was convenient for initial setting of tension and guaranteed the uniformity of the experimental conditions.Myograph could record the tension changes of small arteries induced by several classic stimulations.Conclusion Precise recording method for tension changes in small arteries in vitro is successfully established.
3.Content Determination of Ferulic Acid in Tianwang Buxin Pills by HPLC

OBJECTIVE:To establish a method to determine the content of ferulic acid in Tianwang buxin pills. METHODS:HPLC was performed on the column of Diamonsil C18 with the mobile phase of acetonitrile-1% glacial acetic acid solution(15∶85, V/V)at the flow rate of 1.0 ml/min,the detection wavelength was 323 nm,the temperature was room temperature,and the volume was 20 μl. RESULTS:The linear range of ferulic acid was in the range of 0.091 2-2.28 μg/ml(r=0.999 8);the RSDs of precision, stability and reproducibility tests were less than 2.0%,and the average recovery was 98.96%(RSD=0.26%,n=9). CONCLU-SIONS:The method is simple,accurate and reliable,and can be used as the quality control method of ferulic acid in Tianwang buxin pills.
4.Establishment of artificial lumbar intervertebral disc three-dimensional finite element and its stress analysis

Objective To study artificial lumbar intervertebral disc three-dimensional finite element model and its stress state. Methods The three-dimensional finite element models of artificial lumbar intervertebral disc were established by finite element software MSC. MARK. While L4-5 motion segment from young healthy cadaver was created to give the models biomaterial characters. The vertebral disc of L4-5 was replaced by artificial lumbar intervertebral disc to make a model of an artificial disc replacement. Results After three-dimensional finite element models with biomaterial characters of artificial lumbar intervertebral disc and L4-5 motion segment had been created, the stress distribution of artificial lumbar intervertebral disc showed some characteristics as follows:1)The stress exerted in the center of polyethylene slide core and end plates is biggest in all motion states, the next exists at the deviated site while the polyethylene slide core set in motion. 2)The upper surface of polyethylene slide core and end plates bear 2-3 times stress as much as that of the lower surface. 3)The biggest stress exists in the center of polyethylene slide core and end plates during compression in all motion states. Conclusion Establishment of three-dimensional finite element models of artificial lumbar intervertebral disc and analysis of its stress are feasible. The results are reliable.
5.Effects of Pharmaceutical Management Intervention on Clinical Use of TCM Injection in Primary Medical Insti- tutions

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of pharmaceutical management intervention on the use of TCM injection in primary medical institutions. METHODS :Twenty grass-roots health centers in Yichun city ,Jiangxi province were randomly selected. Relying on Department of Pharmacy and Health Services of the Municipal Health Committee and the Quality Control Center for Pharmacy Affairs of the City ,Yichun People ’s Hospital took the lead in establishing the prescription evaluation criteria for TCM injection ,training pharmaceutical service skills ,conducting special reviews on prescriptions/medical orders ,improving control measures ,obtaining relevant data of drug use in primary health centers by issuing questionnaires on the use of TCM injection and randomly selecting prescriptions/medical orders for comments. The relevant data without drug administration (before intervention)from Jan. to Jun. 2018 were taken as the non-intervention group ,and the relevant data with drug administration (after intervention)from Jan. to Jun. 2019 were taken as the intervention group. The use of TCM medicine injection ,DDDs,DDC and sequencing ratio were compared before and after intervention. At the same time ,the prescriptions/medical orders of TCM injections before(1 222 copies)and after (1005 copies)intervention were randomly selected for comment and the reasonable situations of the prescriptions/medical orders were compared before and after the intervention. RESULTS :After intervention ,total amount , consumption sum and DDDs of top 10 TCM injections in the list of amount were significantly decreased. The reasonable rate of prescriptions and medical orders was 48.04% before intervention , but increased to 70.65% after intervention. Besides , unreasonable situations before and after intervention all manifested as inappropriate indications. After the intervention ,the unreasonable rates of Xuesaitong powder for injection (lyophilized),Xueshuantong injection ,Xingnaojing injection (two specifications),Shengmai injection ,Xueshuantong for injection (lyophilized)and Qingkailing injection were significantly lower than before intevention (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS :Pharmaceutical administration intervention can reduce the total amount and the consumption sun of TCM injection in primary medical institutions ,and promote rational drug use in the clinic.
6.Finite element analysis of the stress distribution in small joint after the implantation of artificial lumbar intervertebral disk

BACKGROUND: Presently-used artificial intervertebral disk is different greatly from the normal physiological intervertebral disk in structure, material and biological properties and so on. Therefore, stress conduction at corresponding spinal section will have a certain change after the implantation of artificial intervertebral disk.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the stress distribution in small joints of normal intervertebral disk group, vertebral extirpation group and artificial lumbar intervertebral disk group with three-dimensional element method in order to discuss exploratorily the influence of the implantation of artificial lumbar intervertebral disk on the stress distribution in small joints.DESIGN: Observative and comparison experiment.SETTING: Orthopedic Department, Third Affiliated Hospital and Second Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University; Biomechanical Laboratory in Southern Medical University.PARTICIPANTS: Spinal specimen collected from the healthy people who died in accidenct without any spinal illness (donated by their family member) was used to establish three kinds of three-dimensional element models of normal intervertebral disk, artificial intervertebral disk and vertebral extirpation as experimental subjects.METHODS: Finite element MSC.MARK software was used to establish normal intervertebral disk model with height of 10.00 mm, cross sectional area of 1300.00 mm2, and vertebral pulp cross sectional area of 495.8 mm2;in the model of vertebral pulp extirpation,the intrinsic pressure of vertebral pulp was zero; and in the three dimensional models of artificial lumbar intervertebral disk and L4-5 movement segment , the small joints were about 10.53 mm high with width of 13.37 mm and auricular area of 135 mm2.Then lumbar movement was simulated for the study of the stress distribution in small joint.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Comparison of the stress in small joints under 6 kinds of states in the above three kinds of intervertebral disk movement model.RESULTS:In vertebral pulp extirpation group, the stress was proved to be the highest at superior edge, posterior middle part, lower edge and anterior middle part of small joints under anteflexion, backward extension, compression, lateroflexion and revolving states, moreover, small joint stress in artificial lumbar intervertebral disk was higher than that in normal intervertebral disk, but obviously lower than that in vertebral pulp extirpation group;however, the small joint of the middle part of artificial lumbar intervertebral disk bore the highest stress under revolving states.CONCLUSION: In contrast with vertebral pulp extirpation group, the small joint stress could be reduced after the implantant of artificial lumbar intervertebral disk, but was still higher than that of normal lumbar intervertebral disk group and the anti-verticity in artificial lumbar intervertebral disk group was markedly lower than that of normal lumbar intervertebral disk group and vertebral pulp ablation group, thus indicating that although presently-used artificial lumbar intervertebral disk possesses most of mechanical functions of normal lumbar intervertebral disk, but is still different from true lumbar intervertebral disk.
7.Establishment of finite element model of lumbar motion segment implanted with artificial lumbar intervertebral disc and its stress analysis

BACKGROUND: At present, there are very big differences in structure,material character and biological property between artificial intervertebral disc (AID) and normal physiological intervertebral disc.OBJECTIVE: Three-dimensional finite element method was used to observe and analysis the stress conduction of artificial lumbar intervertebral disc in lumbar motion segment.DESIGN: Single sample observation was designed.SETTING: Department of Orthopaedics, Third Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University; Department of Orthopaedics, Second Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University; Laboratory of Mechanics, Southern Medical UniversityPARTICIPANTS: It was to employ a vertebral sample without any spinal disorder of a healthy male died due to accidence and a finite element model of AID implantation in vertebral motion segment established with SB Charite Ⅲ AID.METHODS: According to industrial design chart of AID, finite element software MSC.MARK was utilized to establish three-dimensional model of artificial lumbar intervertebral disc. The corpus sample of motion segment of healthy lumbar vertebrae was collected and scanned with spiral CT machine and imaging documents were input in computer to preserve.Geometric model of L4-5 segment was established in three-dimensional coordinate system in ASC.MARK software. The intervertebral disc in L4-5 motion segment model was replaced by AID. It was to ensure the fixation of lower terminal lamina of L5 in the model. 4 Nm moment of force was exerted in anterior flexion, posterior extension, lateral bending and torsion on the sample successively. Finally, force of internodes representing AID was calculated and stress distribution was recorded.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: To observe stress distribution of anterior flexion, posterior extension, compression, lateral bending and rotation of AID.RESULTS: Finite element model of artificial lumbar intervertebral disc implanted lumbar motion segment that is in conformity with clinical practice was established. Stress distribution of AID was characterized as:er lamina was the maximum and that in the lower inclined part of slide of slide core and cover lamina was two or three times as same as that of sion, the stress in the center of slide core and cover lamina was the maximum.CONCLUSION: The finite element model of artificial lumbar intervertebral disc implanted lumbar motion segment established is in conformity with the structural character of practical artificial intervertebral disc in morphology, size and motion property, based on which, it is feasible to carry on the experiment on stress distribution of artificial intervertebral disc.
8.Pit pattern classification for diagnosis of early colorectal cancers and precancerous lesions

Objective To evaluate pit pattern analysis for detection of early colorectal carcinoma and precancerous lesions. Methods A total of 162 lesions in 144 patients were examined with magnifying colonoscopy after staining, and their pit patter was analyzed with morphology and pathologic diagnosis. Results With confirmation of pathology, there were 34 non-neoplastic lesions and 128 neoplastic ones, in which 12 were carcinomas. The pit patterns in most non-neoplastic lesions (76. 5%, 26/34) were type Ⅰ or Ⅱ , and those in most neoplastic lesions (96. 1% , 123/128) was type Ⅲ, Ⅳ or Ⅴ. Pit patterns of cancerous lesions were mainly type Ⅴ (75.0%, 9/12), and those of 3 cases of advanced cancers were all type Ⅴ N. Conclusion Pit pattern classification is a very important tool to differentiate between neoplastic, nonneoplastic lesions and early cancer, which helps to decide later therapeutic intervention.
9.Observation and nursing of airways in mechanically ventilated patients with ASOPP-induced respiratory failure

Objective To summarize the measures for nursing mechanical ventilated patients who suffered from respiratory failure caused by acute severe organophosphorus pesticide poisoning (ASOPP). Method Retrospectively, the nursing clinical data of 18 mechanically ventilated patients who suffered from ASOPP-induced respiratory failure in ICU from January 2013 to December 2014 were analyzed for summarizing the nursing measures concerning preventive extubation, airway humidification and sputum sucking, prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia and final extubation. Result Sixteen ASOPP patients successfully recovered after hospital discharge and another two died from multiple organ function failure because of excessive pesticides. Conclusions Effective observation and nursing care of airways based on their characteristics in ASOPP patients including prevention of unexpected shedding , appropriate humidity of airways and prevention of infection of ventilator-associated pneumonia(VAP). All of these measures can reduce complications and contribute to the early recovery of patients.
10. Analgesic effect of gabapentin combined with agmatine on neuropathic pain in diabetic rats

Objective: To investigate analgesic effect of gabapentin(GBP)combined with agmatine(AGM)on diabetic neuropathic pain(DNP)model rats and explore possible mechanism. Methods: SPF SD male rats were injected intraperitoneally with STZ 65 mg/kg to create a neuropathic pain model of diabetic rats. The model rats were randomly divided into 5 groups(n=8): the model group, low-dose GBP group(30 mg/kg, ip), high-dose GBP group(100 mg/kg, ip), AGM group(80 mg/kg, ig)and the GBP-AGM combined group(GBP 30 mg/kg, ip+AGM 80 mg/kg, ig). In addition, a control group was set with 8 randomly selected normal rats. The control group and the model group were intragastrically and intraperitoneally administered an equal volume of physiological saline, respectively, while the test groups were administered drugs with the given dose in the indicated manner, all for continuous 14 days. The rat body mass, tail vein blood glucose, mechanical withdrawal threshold(MWT)and thermal withdrawal latency(TWL) were measured on day 1 before STZ injection and every 7th day after STZ injection, and the plantar tenderness meter was used for the MWT and TWL measurement. The rats were sacrificed 24 h after the last administration, and the spinal cord tissues were harvested. Western blotting was used to detect the expression of p-ERK and c-Fos protein in spinal cord tissues. Results: Compared with the normal control group, the body mass was reduced, blood glucose increased, MWT decreased, and TWL shortened in the model group, all significantly(P<0.01). After 14 days of the continuous drug administration, compared with the model group, the body mass and blood glucose showed no significant changes(both P>0.05)in all of the drug-test groups, while the MWT was increased and the TWL was prolonged in the GBP 100 mg/kg group and the GBP-AGM combined group(both P<0.01). Western blotting results showed that the level of p-ERK and c-Fos protein in the spindal cord was significantly higher in the model group than in the control group(P<0.05). Further, the p-ERK and c-Fos protein level was significantly lower in the GBP+AGM combined group than in the model group(P<0.05)and there was no statistical difference between the GBP 100 mg/kg group and the GBP-AGM combination group. Conclusion: The combination of GBP 30 mg/kg with AGM 80 mg/kg could alleviate neuropathic pain in diabetic rats, which is similar to GBP 100mg/kg and the analgesic effect is likely related to the inhibition of ERK/c-Fos signaling pathway in the spina cord.
