Objective:To detect the expression of EGFR and NF-ΚB and the relationship between the two fac-tors and radiosensitivity in human nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Methods The expression of EGFR and NF-ΚB were detected with immunohistochemical staining SP methods in forty-one patients. The radiotherapy effect was assessed by follow up visit and clinical judgement. All of the forty-one patients were divided into three groups: the complete response group, the partial response(or the stable disease)group and the progressive disease group. Result:The ex-pression of EGFR and NF-ΚB were detected in human nasophaTyngeal carcinoma tissues, which were not in normal ones. EGFR and NF-ΚB were significant difference of the radiosensitivity in nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues (P< 0. 05). The expression of EGFR and NF-ΚB in the complete response-group and the partial response(or the stable disease)-group were lower than the progressive disease-group(P<0. 05),and there was no significant difference between the complete response-group and the partial response(or the stable disease)-group(P>0. 05). The two factors'expression had negative correlation with radiosensitivity. Conclusion: EGFR and NF-ΚB, as important tar-gets, could predict the radiosensitivity of NPC, which could be helpful for targeting treatment and promote the effect of radiotherapy of NPC.

Objective To detect the presence of DEK protein in the tissue and voided urine of patients with bladder urothelial carcinoma ,and an?alyze the relationship between DEK protein and clinical pathological classification of bladder cancer. Methods The expression of DEK protein was examined by immunohistochemistry in 48 bladder cancer tissues and 18 adjacent normal tissues(control group). The presence of DEK protein in voided urine was analyzed by western blot in 28 bladder cancer patients and 6 healthy individuals(control group). Results The positive ex?pression of DEK protein in bladder tumor tissues(73%)is higher than in adjacent normal tissues(33%,P<0.05). The expression of DEK in su?perficial bladder cancer(86%)was found higher than invasive bladder cancer(55%)with significant differences(P<0.05). The expression of DEK in urine samples of bladder cancer patients(0.834)was found higher than control group(0.242,P<0.05);Compared with the DEK expres?sion of control group, the sensitivity of diagnosis of bladder cancer with voided urine could be 82.1%. Conclusion DEK protein positive ex?pressed in tissues and voided urine of patients with bladder urothelial carcinoma. The expression was correlated with pathological classification of bladder cancer. The positive rate of DEK expression in early stage of tumor tissues is higher than late stage. The presence of DEK protein in tissues and voided urine can be considered as a suitable biomarker for bladder cancer potentially.

BACKGROUND: The gold nanoparticles have a killing effect on tumor cells.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the influence of gold nanochain on Hep-2 cells proliferation of human laryngeal carcinoma.METHODS: The gold nanochain was prepared by a glucose synthesis method and added into the culture cells with different concentrations (10%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 95%) to test the influence on proliferation of in vitro cultured Hep-2 cells. The endocytosis and exocytosis of transmembrane when gold nanochain attached to Hep-2 cells were observed by electron microscopy.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The gold chain at high concentrations (75%, 95%) exhibited inhibitory effects on the proliferation of Hep-2 cells, but the influence was not increased with increasing concentration, belonging to a range of non-toxic. Gold nanchain can enter into Hep-2 cells after 8 hours of co-culture and leave cells after 48 hours, indicating gold nanoparticles chain can enter and leave Hep-2 freely.

Objective To investigate the clinical features and therapeutic strategies of one patient with meningioangiomatosis ( MA ) complicated with intracranial aneurysm formation. Methods The clinical data of one patient with aneurysm-formed MA admitted to the Department of Neurosurgery, the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University was analyzed retrospectively. The patient received emergency craniotomy and middle cerebral artery aneurysm clipping and evacuation of intracranial hematoma. The meningeal tissue around the aneurysm was taken for pathological examination. Results Microscopy revealed meningeal thickening in the patient with MA accompanied with intracranial aneurysm. Spindle cells around the meninges and perivascular tissue of cortical hyperplasia formed an annular and fence-like structure. The results of immunohistochemistry showed the hyperplastic vessels and perivascular fibroblast like spindle cells diffuse vimentin-positive;the hyperplastic vascular endothelial cells CD99,CD34 were positive;and the residual glial cells in the lesions showed glial fibrillary acidic protein positive. Conclusion MA complicated with intracranial aneurysm is rare. The vascular condition is poor. The shape of aneurysm is irregular, and the risk of bleeding is high. Excise the involved meningeal tissue and clip the aneurysm with microsurgical operation is the resonable treatment.

AIM To evaluate the possible role of endogenous nitric oxide (NO) in the development of lung injury after hind limbs ischemia reperfusion (LIR), and the effect of taurine on endogenous NO on the model of lung injury following LIR. METHODS Wistar rats were divided into three groups: control group, ischemia reperfusion group (IR) and taurine+IR (Tau+IR). The changes of PaO 2 ,PaCO 2,lung index (LI) and lung permeability index (LPI) were observed. The content of malondialdehyde (MDA), NO and endothelin (ET) in both plasma and the lung as well as the content of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) and taurine in the lung were detected. The immunohistochemical method was used to detect level in the expression of NOS protein. RESULTS Taurine improved the pulmonary respiratory following LIR significantly, lightened lung edema, decreased the content of ET in both plasma and lung tissue, increased the content of NO in both plasma and lung tissue and promoted the level in the expression of NOS protein. CONCLUSION Using taurine may lighten lung injury following LIR and this protective effect may due to increasing the content of endogeneous NO and decreasing the level of ET.

AIM: To investingate the potential role of apoptosis in the development of acute lung injury(ALI) following limbs ischemia-reperfusion(LIR) in rats and the effects of raurine. METHODS: The model of LIB injury in rats was made. By using TUNEL, electrophoresis, reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and immunohistochemistry techniques, pulmonary apoptosis, Fas/FasL expressions and Ca~(2+), reactive oxygen species (ROS),the ratio of DNA double chain in tissue were detected in different groups.RESULTS: The rapid appearance of apoptosis in alveolar epithelial cells and pulmonary vascular endothelial cells were observed after LIR in rats. The ratio of DNA double chain decreased and tissue Ca~(2+) increased. The expression of Fas/FasL mRNA and protein was up-regulated in lung tissue of rats after LIR, which was related to the elevation of alveolar epithelial cells and pulmonary vascular endothelial cell apoptosis. Taurine decreased alveolar epithelial cell and pulmonary vascular endothelial cell apoptosis not by down-regulating expression of Fas/FasL system. CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that the excessive apoptosis and Fas/FasL system expression may play a role in the pathogensis of ALI following LIB in rats, and taurine decreases alveolar epithelial cell and pulmonary vascular endothelial cell apoptosis.

Objective To investigate the current situation of maternal self- efficacy of breastfeeding and explore its influencing factors in Zhengzhou. Methods Using the general condition questionnaires, breast feeding self-efficacy scale, perceived social support scale and Edinburgh postnatal depression scale to assess the situation of 180 puerperas by the convenience sampling in one obstetric hospital of Zhengzhou. Results The total score of maternal breast feeding self-efficacy was(114.04 ± 21.57)points.The frequency of delivery, the way of delivery and feeding ways, the average income of family were effected with breastfeeding self-efficacy. The total score of social support was(68.87 ± 10.43) points, the total score of puerperas depression was(7.61 ± 4.25) points. The social support score had positive correlation with breastfeeding self-efficacy(r=0.423, P<0.01). Puerperas depression had negative correlation with breastfeeding self- efficacy(r=- 0.342, P<0.01). Conclusions The maternal breastfeeding level in Zhengzhou was at a lower level. The level of maternal breastfeeding self-efficacy scale was impacted by maternal social support degree, the degree of depression. Measures should be taken to enhance maternal social support degree, reduce the degree of depression, in order to improve the level of maternal breastfeeding self-efficacy.
