Objective To study the effect of millimeter wave radiation on human hepatoma cell. Methods BEL7404 hepatoma cells were cultured in vitro and randomly divided into 4 groups: the control group, the group radiated by millimeter wave for 30 min, the group treated with Fluorouracil(5 FU), and the group radiated by millimeter wave and treated with 5 FU simultaneously at same time. The ability of 35.8 GHz millimeter wave to induce the apoptosis of hepatoma cell was evaluated by analyses of fluorescence microscopy, DNA fragmentation assay and flow cytometry assay. Results BEL7404 cells radiated by the millimeter wave had the typical characteristics of apoptosis. Comparaed with the control group [(3.21? 1.06)%], the apoptosis rates were higher in 30 min radiating or/and 5 FU groups[ (14.33? 2.66)%, (18.58? 2.57)%, (27.91? 3.66)%]. Poly adp ribose polymerase(PARP) was found to be cleavaged in all the cells in millmeter wave radiation or/and 5 FU groups. Conclusion Radiation of 35.8 GHz could induce apoptosis of BEL7404 cell in vitro, and could act synergistcally with 5 FU treatment.

Objective To study the correlation between small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) and plasma endotoxin,platelet-derived growth factor(PDGF)level, and levels of serum hyaluronic acid (HA),laminin(LN),N-terminal procollagen Ⅲ peptide(PⅢNP)and type Ⅳ collagen(Ⅳ.C). Methods Lactulose hydrogen breath test (LHBT) was performed in 64 patients with chronic liver disease. Plasma endotoxin was measured with Limulus test, plasma PDGF was tested with ABC-enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, serum HA,LN,PⅢNP and Ⅳ.C were tested by radioimmunoassay(RIA) in the patients. The relationship between SIBO and plasma endotoxin, PDGF and HA,LN,PⅢNP and Ⅳ.C levels were analyzed. Results Positive LHBT suggesting the existence of SIBO were observed in 22 patients(34.4%). Plasma endotoxin[(62?19) pg/ml vs.(31?13) pg/ml] and PDGF [(211?77) pg/ml vs.(136?57) pg/ml] levels were significantly higher in patients with SIBO than those in patients without SIBO (P
5.Visual recovery and complications after vitrectomy combined with phacoemulsification in PDR patients
International Eye Science 2018;18(9):1640-1642
AIM: To observe the visual recovery and complications in patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy(PDR)after vitrectomy combined with phacoemulsification.
METHODS: According to different surgical methods, 95 cases(95 eyes)with PDR were divided into the observation group(50 cases)and the control group(45 cases). The observation group was treated with vitrectomy and phacoemulsification, while the control group was treated with vitrectomy and lensectomy. The visual recovery, changes of intraocular pressure before and after surgery and the complications were compared between the two groups.
RESULTS: The visual acuity of the two groups was significantly improved after surgery(P<0.05), and the improvement in observation group was significantly greater than that in the control group(P<0.05). The intraocular pressure of the two groups was increased significantly at 1, 3 and 6mo after surgery(P<0.05), without significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05). The incidence of iris neovascularization and capsule opacification in the observation group(2%, 6%)were significantly lower than those in the control group(18%, 27%; P<0.05).
CONCLUSION: Vitrectomy combined with phacoemulsification can obviously improve the visual acuity of patients with PDR, and the incidence of complications is low. Although it will lead to an increase in intraocular pressure, it can be improved after symptomatic treatment.
6.Reconstruction effect of postoperative visual training on visual function in children with intermittent exotropia
International Eye Science 2020;20(5):914-916
AIM:To investigate the effect of visual training on the reconstruction of visual function in children with intermittent exotropia.
METHODS: A total of 94 children with intermittent exotropia diagnosed in our hospital from August 2016 to January 2019 were selected and 94 eyes were affected. According to whether the postoperative visual training was divided into two groups, 47 patients(47 affected eyes)were not visually trained after operation and were included in the control group; 47 patients(47 affected eyes)were visually trained 2wk after operation and were included in the observation group. Follow-up for 6mo was performed to observe the recovery of visual function and eye position regression.
RESULTS: Six months after surgery, the proportion of children in the observation group with simultaneous visual function(89%), fusion function(85%)and stereoscopic function(40%)was significantly higher than that in the control group(53%, 47%, 19%), and the orthotopic rate of children in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(91% vs 66%).
CONCLUSION: The binocular visual function training after intermittent exotropia in children can promote the recovery of binocular visual function and reduce the risk of postoperative eye position regression.
