Objective To investigate the effect of depression on the incidence of osteoporosis in patients with maintenance peritoneal dialysis (MPD).Methods We enrolled 80 MPD patients, who underwent peritoneal dialysis in our dialysis center. The clinical data and biochemical parameters of all patients were collected, bone mineral density was detected and the Self-rating depression scale was used to evaluate depression state. Results Among the 80 enrolled MPD patients,34 patients had osteoporosis (42.5%),48 patients had the presence of depression (60%).Logistic regression analysis showed that age, dialysis age, gender, diabetes history and depression state were the risk factors for osteoporosis in MPD patients, the depression state was negatively correlated with BMD of lumbar and femoral neck (r=-0.347,r=0.426,P<0.05).Conclusion Depression state may be a risk factor for osteoporosis in clinic,it is of great significance to focus on the psychological state of MPD patients in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.

Objective To investigate the alterations of serological endothelin(ET) in patients with kawasaki disease(KD) and its relation with coronary dilatation(CAD).Methods Serological ET were measured in 50 cases of patients with KD in acute phase as well as subacute phase; 30 cases of patients with acute febrile infection(IC) in infective phases and 30 healthy children(HC).Results 1.ET in subacute phase significantly increased than that in acute phase.2.In both acute and subacute phases of KD, ET significantly elevated higher than that in HC; and ET in subacute phase significantly elevated than that of IC. 3. Fifty-four percentage patients with KD were complicated with CAD. For CAD subgroup, ET had no difference with CAD subgroup in subacute phase. Conclusion ET has still increases in subacute of KD,which indicates the relation with coronary artery lesion.

Recent studies have showed that nanotechnology pro-vides a new revolution for the treatment of complex, refractory autoimmune or inflammatory diseases.Nanoparticles combined with specific autoantigens can restore the peripheral tolerance and reduce immunopathological damage in a variety of autoimmune disease models. In this paper,we review the progress and trends of nanomedcine for treatment of autoimmune or inflammatory dis-eases as immunomodulatory therapy from the physical and chemi-cal characteristics of nanoparticles, the route of administration, and the role and mechanism of induction or reconstitution of im-mune tolerance, which provides a theoretical basis for seeking new treatments to treat inflammatory diseases.

A flavivirus, Culex flavivirus, was first isolated from Chinese mosquitoes with high sequences similarities to those of flaviviruses found in America and Japan. In this study, a total of 48 pools of field-collected mosquitoes were sampled from Dandong of Liaoning Province, China during July to September of 2011. Six isolated viruses showing cytopathic effect (CPE) in C6/C36 cells were tested by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)using Flavivirus genus--specific primers and Culex flavivirus-specific primers and the positive PCR-product was sequenced and compared with the sequences of 10 isolates from GenBank. Phylogenetic tree of NS5 and enevelop genes of flavivirus were constructed. The GenBank accession numbers of NS5 gene were JQ409188, JQ409186, JQ409187, JQ409191, JQ409189 and JQ409190. The GenBank accession numbers of envelope gene were JQ065883, JQ065882, JQ065881, JQ065879,JQ065877 and JQ065878.

To understand Lophatherum gracile plant community's structural characteristics, a survey of community structure and species diversity was conducted through quadrat sampling in Yongchuan district of Chongqing. The results showed that there were 386 species vascular plants, belonging to 117 families and 229 genera. Based on habitat, community structure and species composition, L. gracile were found in three community types: Pinus massoniana community, banboo community, shurb community. Vertical structure was composed of three layers, including tree layer, shrub layer and herb layer. Species in shrub layer was the richness. P. massoniana is the only dominant species of the community, it can not regenerate naturally, the shrub layer has a greater effect on the community of L. gracile in the future. In addition, the banboo community and shurb community is not stable because of human's activity. Therefore, the community characters of L. gracile should be taken care of conservation when the resources are utilized.

Objective To investigate the effects of partial body weight supported treadmill training (BW- STT) on post-stroke depression (PSD) and on patients' quality of life. Methods Sixty patients with PSD were re- cruited and divided into a training group (n=30,male 17,female 13) and a control group (n=30,male 16,fe- male 14).All patients were treated with routine internal medication and rehabilitation. The patients of the training group also received BWSTT in addition to their routine treatment. All patients' neurological impairment was evaluated using the Modified Edinburgh-Scandinavian Stroke Scale (MESSS).The Hamilton depression scale (HAMD) was used for evaluating the degree of depression. The Fugl-Meyer scale and the Barthel index were used to assess ambula- tion and balance, and facility in the activities of daily living. All patients were assessed before and after the treat- ment. Results After four weeks of treatment, depression in the training group had improved significantly more than in the control group. Conclusion BWSTT intervention is very important for patients with PSD:it can reduce the degree of depression and improve the quality of life.

Microbiology 1992;0(02):-
Klebsiella pneumoniae M5a1 metabolizes 3-hydroxybenzoate via gentisate to central metabolites. The plasmid pBSI encoding the full catabolic pathway endowed E.coli with the ability to grow on 3-hydroxybenzoate. We have determined the sequence of an 8-kb region spanning the mhb genes. Blast search in the GenBank revealed the mhbR was a putative transcript regulator and mhbT was a putative 3-hydroxybenzoate transporter. The E.coli strain containing the plasmid with frameshift mutantion either in mhbR or mhbT grew more slowly on 3-hydroxybenzoate than that containing the wild type clone.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the HIV infections states in tumor patients for clinical diagnosis, treatment and to prevent HIV infection in the tumor hospital.METHODS The result of HIV detection in tumor patients from Dec 2000 to Aug 2006 was analyzed by the review statistics analysis.RESULTS Totally 48 101 tumor paients were detected, and the number of tumor patients with positive HIV antibody result was 51(0.106%).Among the positive patients there were 21 cases with blood transfusion history,14 cases with blood donating experience,2 cases with both these two kinds of experiences and 14 cases without the two kinds of experiences.Their rate was separately 41.0%,27.5%,4.0% and 27.5%.Most of the HIV positive patients had no clinical synptoms.CONCLUSIONS The HIV positive rate of patients with blood transfusion or blood donating is significantly higher than the patients without these experiences. The routine detection for the HIV before the operation, blood transfusion or other traumatic detection is very necessary.
