Medicated diet has a long history in China. It is a special dietary form under the guidance of basic theo-ries of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). This article discussed the characteristics, hot spots and methodological development of current study on medicated diet. It also discussed on current misunderstandings on the study of med-icated diet, such as lack of the guidance of systematic theory, not well-formed system, lack of professional personnel and their limitations, in order to promote the subject development of medicated diet.

Objective To investigate the effect of neuropeptide Y(NPY) on free calcium concentration in vascular smooth muscle cell(VSMC). Methods The cultured VSMC was loaded with 10 ?mol/L Fluo-3, and were perfused with normal extracelluar fluid, non-calcium extracellular fluid plus 10 -6 mol/L _NPY, 1 ?mol/L nifedipine, 1 ?mol/L nifedipine+10 -6 mol/L _NPY. This study was designed to investigate inhibitory effects and possible mechanisms of snake venom tripeptide (pENW) on platelet adhesion in order to promote the development of a novel anti-platelet therapy. To study the inhibitory effects of pENW on platelet adhesion, washed platelets pre-incubated with pENW (116.5-466.2 μmol x L(-1)) were used to test the ability of platelet adhesion to fibrinogen. Effect of pENW on fibrin clot retraction was also tested. Effect of pENW on platelets viability was tested by MTT assay. Effect of pENW on reactive-oxygen species (ROS) levels of platelet was studied by flow cytometry assay. Calcium mobilization in Fura-2/AM-loaded platelets was monitored with a spectrofluorimeter. Cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) and cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), thromboxane A2 (determined as its metabolite thromboxane B2) were measured using enzyme immunoassay kits. Akt, ERK and p38 phosphorylation were tested by Western blot. The results showed that pENW inhibited platelet adhesion and fibrin clot retraction in a concentration-dependent manner without cytotoxicity. Intracellular cGMP and cAMP in both resting and thrombin-activated platelets were increased by pENW. In addition, pENW attenuated intracellular Ca2+ mobilization and TXA2 production in platelets stimulated by thrombin. As shown by Western blot assay, Akt, ERK and p38 phosphorylation in thrombin-induced platelet were attenuated by pENW. However, inhibitory effects of pENW had nothing to do with ROS. Thus, pENW exhibited a significant inhibition on platelet adhesion to fibrinogen, which means pENW could block the first step of thrombosis as while as retard the more stable clot formation. The mechanisms of pENW on inhibition platelet adhesion might be related to instant regulations, such as protein kinases.

MIC.RESULTS The bacteriostatic/bactericidal CFR of 0.5g q8h imipenem/cilastatin and 0.5g q8h meropenem were the highest(100%);that of 3.375g q4h sodium piperacillin/tazobactam sodium against ESBLs-producing E.coli was above 90%;the CFRs of ceftriaxone(1g q24h,2g q24h),ceftazidime(1g q8h,2g q8h),cefepime(1g q8h,1g q12h,2g q8h) and cefoperazone sodium/sulbactam(0.5g q8h,1g q8h,2g q8h) against ESBLs-producing strains were clearly less than those of non-ESBLs-producing ones,and the CFRs could not be effectively improved with the dose and frequency increased.CONCLUSIONS The PK/PD simulation is useful to optimize the regimen of anti-infective treatment,and guide its dosing accurately.

Objective To evaluate the CT findings and classification of the Le Fort fracture. Methods Sixty-two cases with Le Fort fractures were studied with thin-slice high-resolution CT scanning and analyzed with three-dimensional(3D)imaging reconstruction.Results Of the 62 patients,10 had Le Fort type Ⅰ fracture,9 had Le Fort type Ⅱ fracture,8 had Le Fort type Ⅲ fracture,and 35 had various combinations of the three types of Le Fort fractures,including 18 Le Fort Ⅰ+Ⅱ fracture,7 Le Fort Ⅰ+ Ⅱ+Ⅲ fracture and 10 Le Fort Ⅱ+Ⅲ fracture.Fifty-five cases had associated multiple fractures in the maxillofacial region.On 2D CT images,Le Fort fracture manifested as multiple and complex fractures. Though 2D image was better than 3D image in accurately defining tiny fractures and fractures of deep structures,the diagnosis of Le Fort fracture could not be correctly made solely on 2D image.3D CT clearly and stereoscopically demonstrated the entire shape and orientation of Le Fort fracture,thus facilitating the correct classification of Le Fort fracture.Conclusion 3D CT image is important in providing information about the space relationship of Le Fort fracture,thus very valuable for the preoperative planning.

Objective To observe the safety of telbivudine (LdT) application throughout pregnancy in women with chronic hepatitis B (CHB),and to provide evidence-based treatment recommendations for women of childbearing age with chronic hepatitis B.Methods Women with hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection who took LdT before pregnancy and in early pregnancy were followed up prospectively for evaluating maternal and newborn adverse events.All newborns received block of HBV mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) after birth and were followed up for neonatal disorders and effects of maternal and child block.Results Among the 145 cases of pregnant women,143 were diagnosed as CHB and 2 decompensated cirrhosis.One hundred and five (72.4％) patients had HBV DNA＜500 copy/mL and 125 (86.0％) had positive hepatitis B e antigen.There were total 154 times pregnancies including 17 spontaneous abortions,4 ectopic gestation and 9 pregnancies after abortion.One hundred and one cases finished pregnancy,with 100 full term deliveries,1 preterm delivery and 2 twin pregnancies.One fetal with cleft lip and palate was aborted by induced labor in 24 weeks gestation.One baby was born with right double ears; one had benign lymph node under the left ear; and another one was diagnosed with congenital heart disease.Seven of the pregnant women had creatine kinase increased.Eight developed drug resistance.However,none had disease progression during pregnancy.None of the 63 infants was hepatitis B surface antigen positive over the 6 months of follow-up.The prevention of HBV MTCT was 100％ successful.Conclusion It is safe and effective for women with chronic HBV infection to receive LdT treatment throughout pregnancy.

ObjectiveTo investigate the association of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs)of rs11833579 and rs12425791 on chromosome 12pl3 with cerebral infarction in the Fujian Han population.MethodsA case-control association study containing a total of 216 cases and 279 controls was carried out.The genotypes of two polymorphisms were evaluated by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) and direct DNA sequencing followed by association analysis.Results The frequency of G ＞ A genotype of rs12425791 in patients with cerebral infarction was lower than that in the controls (34. 3％ vs 43.4％ , x2 = 4. 298 ,P ＜ 0. 05 ) after stratified by causes of cerebral infarction, there was no significant difference in this genotype between large-artery atherosclerosis and controls.Association analysis was performed by logistic regression model after adjusting by sex, age, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, smoking and drinking. Rs12425791 G ＞ A genotype was significantly associated with both cerebral infarction ( OR = 0. 627, 95％ CI 0. 417-0. 941, P = 0. 024 ) and large-artery atherosclerosis ( OR =0. 613, 95％ CI 0. 396-0. 949 ,P =0. 028). G ＞ A genotype might be a potential protective factor in male( OR =0. 597, 95％ CI 0. 364-0. 978, P =0. 041 ). rs11833579 G ＞ A genotype frequency was similar between cases and controls.Conclusion rs12425791 G ＞ A on chromosome 12p13 might be a genetic marker for atherothrombotic brain infarction in Han population of Fujian.
