China Oncology 2009;19(8):637-640
Thyroid carcinoma is one of the most common diseases in the head and neck area. With the advance of innovative technologies like ultrasound ,fine-needle aspiration and PET-CT, the number of patients diagnosed as thyroid carcinoma has grow rapidly during the past ten years. As a special structure in papillary tumors and appearing as microcalcification in the imaging examination, psammoma body has been considered of great significance in the diagnosis of thyroid carcinoma. Psammoma body has unique features in terms of pathology, cytology and imageology. The study of the mechanism of psammoma body formation is very important for the clinic to differentiate the disease from others. In this article, we summarized the role of psammoma body in the study of thyroid cancer.

Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2006;0(10):-
Objective To explore the clinical effiicacy and effect on cytokines of invigorating the kidney and activating blood fomula on treating osteoarthritis patients in the pattern of kidney deficiency. Methods 113 patients with knee osteoarthritis were randomly divided into two groups including 56 cases of treatment group and 57 cases of control group, which were treated by invigorating the kidney and activating blood fomula and combinaton of Celecoxib and Glucosamine respectively. The clinical effiicacy of two groups were investigated by Womac osteoarthritis index and the average severity of OA index. The changes of serum inflammatory cytokines TNF-? and IL-6 were detected by ELISA. Results The total efficiency of the treatment group was 89.3% and better than the control group (P 0.05) compared with control group. The serum TNF-?, IL-6 levels of treatment group significantly decreased after treatment in treatment group (P
4.Expression of CD44V6 and p53 gene mutation in human ovarian carcinoma
China Oncology 1998;0(01):-
Purpose:To investigate p53 gene mutation, CD44V6 expression and their relationship with metastasis of ovarian carcinoma in tumor diagnosis. Methods:PCR SSCP with silver staining was used to detect the mutation of p53 gene; by using Southern blot and image analysis, the quantitative and qualitative expression of CD44V6 were also determined. Results:The positive percentage of CD44V6 expression and p53 gene mutation was not detectable in any of the normal ovarian specimens but in the benign tumors, non metastasizing and metastasizing carcinomas it was 10%, 75%, 88% and 5%, 40%, 60% respectively. The mean dark density of each band in these four groups(mentioned above) was 85.25?23.16, 817.11?126.5, 3820.14?289.43 and 10132.92?1521.20 respectively. The expression of CD44V6 of metastasizing carcinomas was higher than that of non metastasizing group. Conclusions:The expression of CD44V6 is related to tumor metastasis; the positive percentage of CD44V6 is higher than that of p53 gene mutation in the group of metastasizing and non metastasizing tumors; Compared to p53 gene mutation, CD44V6 is a better marker for tumor metastasis.
5.Analyses of the Mycorrhizal Research State and Development in China Based on SCI Database
Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
Papers on mycorrhizas were searched from SCI (Science Citation Index) database. In order to understand the research progress of mycorrhizas in China, the paper on mycorrhizas from 1989 to 2007 was analyzed with method of bibliometrics. Mycorrhizal researches showed an increasing tendency during 1989 to 2007, while the increase was obviously accelerated after 2000. Only 5.22% of the articles were published in journals with impact factor above 5, indicates that the academic levels of researches need being enhanced. Currently the research on mycorrhizas was mainly focused on Arbuscular mycorrhiza (AM), especially on effects of mycorrhizal fungi on plant physiology, effects of mycorrhizal fungi on resistance of host plants, Mycorrhizal diversity community and ecological distribution, and phytoremediation with Mycorrhizal plants. The future research should emphasize in phytoremediation with Mycorrhizal plants and identification of fungal species with molecular biological technology.
6.Angelica sinensis polysaccharides prevents rat from hepatic encephalopathy
Journal of Third Military Medical University 2003;0(23):-
Objective To investigate to the role of Angelica sinensis polysaccharides (ASP) against hepatic encephalopathy and explore the probable mechanism. Methods Sprague-Dawley rats were established into carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)-induced liver cirrhosis, then treated with distilled water (negative control),lactulose (positive control),ASP solution (10,20 and 40 g/L respectively, intragastrically at dose of 10 ml.kg-1.d-1) for 14 days. On 15th day,all the survival rats were intraperitoneally injected with endotoxin (3 mg/kg) once, then in the following 12 h,the rats that fall into coma were counted and the time period of coma was recorded. The blood plasma concentrations of ammonia, serum glutamate-pyruvate transaminase (GPT) and glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT) were determined. The apoptotic cerebral cells were dyed in situ by TUNEL. Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) in astrocytes was determined by immunohistochemical method. Then we counted the apoptotic cerebral cells and GFAP positive cells under light microscope. Results The survival rats in distilled water group were highest in the concentrations of ammonia,GPT and GOT,the amount of apoptotic cerebral cells, and coma rate than the rats in other groups. The rats in 40 g/L ASP group had the higher ammonia level,GOT concentration, coma rate than those in lactulose group. The rats in 3 ASP groups all had less apoptotic cerebral cells than those in lactulose group. As to GFAP,distilled water group had the lowest immunological activity, and the GFAP immunological positive cells of 3 ASP groups were all more than those in lactulose group. Conclusion ASP,even more effective than lactulose, can protect rat brain function and delay the occurrence of hepatic encephalopathy, whose effects may be related to the decrease of blood ammonia, the amelioration of liver function as well as the protection of astrocyte function and neuronic activity.
7.Transfer of Immnuity Against Japanese Encephalitis Virus by Immune RNA Ⅰ.Antibody Formation Induced by Immune RNA

Chinese Journal of Immunology 1985;0(03):-
Immune RNA (iRNA) preparation was extracted with phenol from the spleens, lymph nodes and livers of rabbits immunized with Japanese Encephalitis virus (JEV). When C57BL mice were injected intraperitoneally with this preparation, the serum antibodies were detected by complement fixation test, indirect immunofluorescence technique and neutralization test. A markedly higher of ser fjter um antibody was demonstrated by all these three methods in such iRNA treated mice as compared with non-immunized or nRNA treated mice. There is no significant difference between spleen-lymph nodes iRNA and liver iRNA in their antibody induction activities. The titer of serum antibody was greatly increased by a previous injection of a sub-threshold amount of JEV vaccine into mice which subsequently received an injection with iRNA. Adoptive transfer of spleen cells which had previously sensitized with iRNA into mice had the same effect on antibody formation as direct injection of iRNA.

Chinese Journal of Microsurgery 2000;0(03):-
Objective To design a new presigmoid translabyrinthine keyhole approach assisted by Stryker neuro-navigation system according to the keyhole idea, and observe microscopic anatomy structures, which could be.regarded as the bases of this approach in clinical application. Methods Navigation data were established on 8 cadaveric heads fixed by formalin and perfused intracranial vessels with colored silicone. A 7-cm postauricular C-shaped skin incision as we reported was performed. After elevating the skin flap and musculofascial flap,a 3.5 cm?3.0 cm bone window was made.On skeletonizing the sigmoid sinus, bony lab- yrinth and the canal for facial nerve, the presigmoid retrolabyrinthine, partial labyrinthectomy with petrous api- cectomy, translabyrinthine keyhole approaches were simulated in turn. The length of important structures ex- posed and the angle of vision were measured step by step, and the anatomic structures were observed.Re- suits The approach-correlated bone could precisely be drilled with the aid of neuro-navigation,which could avoid the bewilder in drilling process. The angles of visual field, the length of clivus andⅦcranial nerve were significantly increased after partial labyrinthectomy with petrous apicectomy or all labyrinth removal, but there were no significant difference between partial and all labyrinth removal. The retrolabyrinthine keyhole approach spares hearing and facial function but provided for limited window of petroclival region exposure. The partial labyrinthectomy with petrous apicectomy keyhole approach provided wider exposure to petroclival region,cere- bellopontine angle, prepontine region and posterior cavernous sinus;an area between theⅢ-XI cranial nerves was easily visible with an excellent chance of hearing and facial nerve preservation. The translabyrin- thine keyhole approach, producing more morbidity, provided for greater versatility in treating lesions, added little exposure of petroclival region. Conclusion The presigmoid translabyrinthine keyhole approach, which could provide excellent exposure of the petroclival region, was feasible to be performed in our study. The ap- proach-correlated bone could be precisely removed assisted by neuro-navigation system. The exposure was oh- viously increased hy partial labyrinthectomy with petrous apicectomy or all labyrinthine removal, the former provided an excellent chancre of hearing and facial nerve preservation.
