1.Advances of the mechanisms of renal tubular cell injury
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(04):-
The nature of renal tubular cell injury in ischemic acute renal failure includes not only cell death (necrosis or apoptosis) but also sublethal injury causing cell dysfunction. The role of intracellu- lar calcium, calcium - dependent enzymes calpain, nitric oxide, phospholipase A2, loss of tubule cell polarity and tubular obstruction in the pathophysiology of the renal tubular cell injury during hypoxia/ischemia is described. The effects of vascular factors, infiltrating activited leukocytes, apoptosis and growth factors on renal tubular cell injury are discussed. Potential mechanisms that tubular injury leads to a profound fall in glomerular filtration rate are proposed.

Objective To investigate the effect of chronic stress on the expression of uncoupling protein 4 (UCP4) and Bcl-2 protein in hippocampal neurons of rat depression model. Methods Rat depression models were established by chronic unpredicted mild stress. All rats were randomly assigned to 2 groups:control group and model group.Flow cytometry was applied to detect the apoptosis rate and mitochondrial membrane potential. The level of LDH was measured by enzymes labelling instrument. The number of neurons was measured by immunohistochemistry. The expression of UCP4 and Bcl-2 protein was measured by Western blotting. Results After chronic stress, the apoptosis rate((4.35±0.19) %)and LDH activity ((445.50±91.70) U/mg) in hippocampal tissue in the model group was significantly higher than the control group((0.34±0.06) %,(167.20±63.40)U/mg).Compared to control group, the number of hippocampal neurons ((72.50±4.25) vs (45.30±2.54)) and the mitochon drial membrane potential decreased in the model group. The expressions of UCP4 and Bcl-2 protein in hippocampal tissue were significantly lower than the control group. Conclusion Chronic unpredicted mild stress can lead to apoptosis in rat hippocampal neurons, which is related with decline of mitochondrial membrane potential and low expression of UCP4 and Bcl-2 protein.

Objective To investigate the impact of alterations within the space of Disse micro- environment on the migration of hepatic stellate cells(HSC) during the process of liver fibrosis, and to ex plore the novel mechanism of liver fibrosis from the view of cell migration. Methods A modified in vitro Boyden chamber system to partially mimic in vivo microenvironment of Disse space of normal and liver fibrosis was employed. The effects of fibrogenetic growth factors on the migration of HSC in liver fibrosis were observed via cell migration and cell proliferation experiments. Results Enhanced platelet-derived growth factor(PDGF)-BB,transforming growth factor(TGF)-?1 and/or epithelial growth factor(EGF) in liver fibrosis resulted in an increase in migratory capacity of activated HSC.The enhanced migration of HSCs induced by PDGF-BB was partially associated with their increased proliferation,while,TGF-?1 or EGF-induced migration was proliferation independent. The elevation of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) or vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)during liver fibrosis had no effect on the migration of HSCs.Conclusions The study provides valuable insights into the role of space of Disse microenvironment in regulating HSC migratory behavior.TGF-?1,PDGF-BB and EGF,which increased in liver fibrosis, could induce the migration of activated HSC.However,bFGF or VEGF has no such kind of effect,al- though they also increased during liver fibrosis.

This paper reports the nursing care of 12 patients with idiopathic scoliosis treated with halo-pelvic traction preoperatively which focused on breathing training, traction frame management. One patient suffered from temporary brachial plexus injury and four cases suffered from superior mesenteric artery syndrome. With 14-21 day's traction and nursing care, the correction rate of Cobb angle was 35%-50%,the forced vital capacity was improved by 25%,and all the patients received orthomorphia surgery in time. It is suggested that the patients with severe idiopathic scoliosis treated by halo-pelvic traction could take out-of-bed activity freely. It could not only relieve pain and reduce mental pressure, but also improve the safety of orthomorphia surgery.

Objective To investigate the strategy and announcements of surgery in primary retroperitoneal. tumor for improving the rescetable rate and decreasing the surgical risk. Methods Clinical data of 50 cases undergoing surgery of retroperitoneal tumor in our hospital from January 2004 to December 2008 were retrospectively analyzed. Results Tumors were benign in 20 cases and malignant in 30 cages.Complete resection was achieved in 39 cases(78%).in which combined organ resection carried out in 10 cases(20%),3 cases(6%)underwent partial resection.non-resection and had biopsy only were performed in 8 cases(16%),so the rescetable rate of this clinical weTe 84%(42/50).Conclusions Abundant preoperative preparation, wide open operation field and distinct anatomical dissection were the essential condition of the resecting primary retroperitoneal tumor. The relevant surgical skill should decrease the surgical risk. The tumor should be completely reaeeted in principle, and invaded neighboring organs should be resected with the discretion at the gane time.Completely resected was the key 10 improving the surviral rate and the strategy to decreasing the reeurence rate for recurrent retroperitoneal tumor.

Objective To investigate the value of transvaginal contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS)in the diagnosis of adnexal masses. Methods Thirty patients with adnexal mass were examined by conventional 2D imaging and contrast tuned imaging(CnTI)technology. The results were compared with pathological results and the CEUS features wet concluded. Results There were 21 cases of benign adnexal masses and 9 cases of ovarian malignancies among 30 patients. The CnTI technology can distinguish between solid and cystic parts in masses.CEUS showed that malignant tumor had the high microvessel density and these vessels were irregular in shape.Partial malignant masses had the characteristic in-out phases in CnTI imagine. Conclusions Transvaginal CEUS is benefit to improve the accuracy of diagnosis of pelvic adnexal masses.

Space Medicine & Medical Engineering 2006;0(04):-
The migration of endothelial cell induced by fluid shear stress is related to many physiological and pathological responses in organism. The redistribution of membrane receptors and proteins, caused by shear stress,is a vital step for cell migration, followed by chemical reactions and signal transduction. Then cell morphological changes are induced, such as polarity, protrusion, and adhesion, which lead to the migration of endothelial cell at last. The goal of this paper is to review what is known about the mechanical models of endothelial cell migration and the responses of cells to fluid flow.It is helpful for better understanding the intrinsic mechanism of mechano-chemical signal pathway of the migration of endothelial cells induced by fluid shear stress.

Objective To further solve the mutual restricted problems among precision, speed and disregistrated rate of registration algorithm based on mutual information (MI). Methods A new strategy on the search of registration parameters, a triple level registration strategy, was proposed. It searched the translation parameters and the rotation parameters respectively. Based on analyzing the advantage and limitation of MI-based registration, Euclid closeness of Fuzzy theory was introduced into the process of the triple level registration. Results The computer simulation results demonstrated that the proposed registration method, on the condition of retaining the same precision, improved both the speed (step numbers and registration time) and the disregistrated rate. Conclusion The proposed triple level registration strategy is a registration strategy to be able to harmonize precision, speed and disregistrated rate effectively.
