1.The local Mesocyclops species and applying ability to kill Aedes Aegypti larvae in water containers in Hai Duong province, 2003
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;490(10):28-31
By this study, 5 species of Mesocyclop were identified. All have high ability to kill the larvae of Aedes mosquito. In 24h an average of 28,7-41,3 larvae could be killed, especially 36 larvae by M. woutersi and M. aspericorni, which occurred mainly in water reservoir. The involvement of the community in the eradication of malaria vectors in local area using Mesocyclops was recommended.

2.The efficacy of integrated method controlling Xenopsylla cheopis and Anopheles minimus in Hoa Binh province
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2004;14(6):57-60
A research was conducted in 2001 and 2002 to evaluate the efficacy of remaining spray by using Permethrin 50EC to kill both kinds of vectors: Xenopsylla cheopis and Anopheles minimus, responsible for plague and malaria transmission, respectively. The results showed that Permethrin 50EC at the concentration of 0.5g/m2 was highly effective to kill Xenopsylla cheopis and Anopheles minimus and remained effective for 4 months

3.Efficacy of insecticides in killing cockroach in train carriages
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2004;14(6):85-88
Common insecticides were tested in Laboratory of Insecticide, National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology in order to select the highest efficacy of insecticides which remained susceptible in killing cockroach in train’s carriages. The study results showed that the number of collected cockroach populations reduced sharply at different time spans of 2 hours, 1 week, 2 weeks and 4 weeks after spraying

5.Problem on dental caries of children from 7 to 11 years of age at Trang An primary school
Journal of Medical Research 2002;18(2):85-14
Investigation of 819 school children from 7 to 11 years of age at TrangAn primary school was carried out by using standard form and the method of examination and evaluation from WHO. Result showed that dental caries rate is rather high (72%). There was a difference of prevalence between age groups, highest at group 9 years of age (78%), lowest at group 11 years of age (65%). The initial dental caries and common dental caries needed treatment, were quite high. 1894 teeth with 3.08 decay per child, the number of filled teeth were low, 0.23/child. This result showed that taking care the children tooth has not been paid attention by their parent

6.Comment about treatment of acute diarrhea in children admitted to the Pediatric Department of Military Hospital 108 during 7 years (1987-1993).
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):6-7
Pediatric acute diarrhea is most common disease in developing countries, according WHO. Treating for acute diarrhea in recent years had substantial improvements. Statistic data of children with acute diarrhea who admitted to the Pediatric Department of Military Hospital 108 between 1987 - 1993 was analysed. Use of antibiotics decreased from 63% in 1987 to 18.2% in 1993. Use of oral ORESOL (for patients with grade A of dehydration) increase from 79.3% in 1987 to 100% in 1993. Nutritional diet should be maintained for children during and after disease period

7.Preparation of in-house reference for tetanus vaccine
Journal of Preventive Medicine 1999;9(4):62-66
The IVAC in-house reference for tetanus vaccine has an average dry weight of 51.18 mg/ampoule, 2.85% moisture content (standard 3%). The reference vaccine kept at -20oC for 60 months still remains stable with 333.84 IU/ampoule. Kept at 37oC for 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks still remains stable. Potency of tetanus vaccine produced at IVAC controlled by in-house reference vaccine and international standard vaccine gave the same results.

9.Observing of the progression of HIV infected intravenous drug users in Hochiminh city (1995-1997)
Journal of Medical Research 2000;11(1):13-18
Preliminary survey on some parameters of immune system (humoral & cellular immunity) of 74 persons who were HIV (-) addicts in HCM city was carried out on the concentrations of immunoglobuline (Ig)/serum, Mantoux test, count of lymphocytes, T-CD4, T CD8, the result indicated that there were reduction of T-CD4 number in HIV(-) addicts, dysfunction of humoral and cellular immune in the HIV infected addicts during disease progressing. The time of progression of HIV/AIDS - IDU is rather short in this stage and the mortality rate after the first year of AIDS in HCM city was high. Further studies are necessary.

10.Field evaluation of spatial repellency with metofluthrin impregnated strip against mosquitoes in Do Son, Hai Phong
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2005;15(1):37-40
The spatial repellency with metofluthrin impregnated strips were hung in 15 households at Do Son, Hai Phong. The results showed that the density of mosquitoes reduced by 18 weeks after hanging strips. People agree that this was one of the safe, effective and simple method to control mosquitoes.
