OBJECTIVE:To establish the ultraviolet visible spectrophotometry(UV-VIS)for the determination of Fe content in iron dextran preparations.METHODS:Under the acidic condition,Fe~(3+)was dissociated from iron dextran solution by heating,then Fe~(3+)was deoxidized into Fe~(2+)by hydroxylamine hydrochloride,and red Fe~(2+)-orthophenanthroline complex was formed through combination with o-phenanthroline.The content of the Fe~(2+)-orthophenanthroline complex was determined by UV-VIS at a wavelength of 510 nm.RESULTS:The linear range of Fe~(2+)was 0.5～4.0?g?mL~(-1)(r=0.999 9). The average recoveries of two preparations(tablets and injection)of iron dextran were 99.8%(RSD=0.52%)and 99.7% (RSD=0.44%),respectively.CONCLUSION:The UV-VIS method is simple,accurate in results and applicable for the determination of iron dextran preparations.

Objective To evaluate the reliability and validity of Chinese version of the Carlson's Prior Conditions Instruments(CPCI)for post-operative pain management practices of nurses.Methods With convenience sampling,a total of 200 surgical nurses were investigated with Chinese version Dimensions of Carlson's Prior Conditions Instruments (CPCI),and the reliability and validity were tested.Results Six factors were extracted by factor analysis and could explain 61.089％ of the total variance with the Chinese version of CPCI.The correlation between each sub-scale and total scale were ranged from 0.583～0.825.The Cronbach's α、split-half coefficient and test-retest reliability of PICI were 0.865、0.661、0.904 respectively.The Cronbach's α、split-half coefficient and test-retest reliability of each sub-scale were ranged from 0.772～0.860、0.678～0.830、0.822～0.946 respectively.Conclusions The revised Chinese CPCI is reliable and valid,and can be used in the research of prior conditions which may influence surgical nurses to take evidence-based pain management practices.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of bortezomib combined with dexamethasone and thalidomide in the treatment of autologous stem cell transplantation ( ASCT) in multiple myeloma ( MM) . Methods The randomized con-trolled trials ( RCTs) on combined therapy with bortezomib,dexamethasone and thalidomide for ASCT in MM were retrieved from Pubmed,Medline,the Cochrane Library,CNKI,VIP and Wanfang databases (published until December 2014).The method of the Cochrane systematic review was used to evaluate the quality of the included RCTs and the Review Manager 5.3.5 software was em-ployed for Meta-analysis. Results Five RCTs involving 1 271 patients were included.The meta analysis results showed that the complete remission ( CR) rate,near-CR rate and total effective rate were significantly higher after combined treatment with borte-zomib,dexamethasone and thalidomide when compared with those in other combination therapies [CR+nCR, RR=1.50,95%CI (1.16,1.94),P=0.002;the total effective rate,RR=1.13,95%CI (1.03,1.24),P=0.009].In terms of safety,the grade 3/4 ad-verse events were significantly increased in the group of combined therapy with bortezomib,dexamethasone and thalidomide [ RR=1.29,95%CI (1.05,1.59),P=0.02]. Conclusion Bortezomib combined with thalidomide and dexamethasone for the treat-ment of ASCT in MM can significantly improve the CR+nCR and the total effective rate,but it also increases the incidence of the overall adverse events at the same time.

Objective To test the in vitro effect of the extract of Herba taraxaci on Demodex folliculorum. Methods Active Demodex folliculorum were obtained from patients with moderate to severe demodex infestation. Herba taraxaci and Radix stemonae were extracted respectively with 80% ethanol under 85℃, and a preparation with a concentration of 200mg/ml was made. The extractions were used in vitro to examine the anti-mite activity by observing time of killing mites. Physiological saline and Radix stemonae extraction served as blank control and positive control respectively. PH value of Herba Taraxaci extract was noted. Skin irritation test of normal and wounded skin and acute toxicity test were carried out with rabbit shin, and Herba taraxaci and 75% ethanol were served as experiment and control medicine. Results Motion and morphology of the mites considerably changed with the effect of Herba taraxaci extract. OBJECTIVE:To analyze the clinical application and trend of psychotherapeutic agents in our hospital.METH-ODS:The application of psychotherapeutic agents in our hospital from 2004 to 2006 was analyzed statistically in respect of drug varieties,consumption sum,DDDs and defined daily cost etc.RESULTS:The consumption sum of antipsychotic agents showed a year-on-year upward trend over the 3 year(379,100 yuan,438,800 yuan and 694,100 yuan,respectively).However,the consumption sum of antidepressants showed a downward trend over the 3 years(444,800yuan,440,200yuan,and 335,800 yuan,respectively).The total consumption of the two(antipsychotic agents and antidepressants) made up over 90% in the total psych-otherapeutic agents.CONCLUSION:Of the total consumption sum of psychotherapeutic agents,antipsychotic agents and antidepressants have made their way into the lead,of which,paroxetine,risperidone and olanzapine showing highest percentages.

OBJECTIVE:To establish an RP-HPLC method for the determination of doxorubicin hydrochloride concentration in human plasma.METHODS:Tianhe Kromasil C18 was used as column,A solution of methenol-0.01 mol?L-1ammonium dihydrogen phosphate-acetic acid(30200.1) was used as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.0 mL?min-1.The detection of wavelength was set at 233 nm.The sample size was 20?L and the column temperature was 35℃.The internal standard was daunorubicin.RESULTS:The calibration curve was linear in the range from 0.25～20.16 ?g?mL-1(r=0.999 6);the average methodological recovery was 96.45%(RSD=2.16%).CONCLUSIONS:The method is rapid,accurate,reproducible and easy to use in clinical detection of blood concentration.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a RP-HPLC method to determinate the plasma concentration of paclitaxel in tumor patients.METHODS:Paclitaxel was extracted from plasma with organic phase(ethyl-acetate)by two-step extraction on Tianhe Kromasil C18 column(250 mm?4.6 mm,5 ?m)with a mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-methanol-water(40∶25∶40)at a flow rate of 1 mL?min-1.The detective wavelength was set at 227 nm and the column temperature was maintained at 35 ℃.RESULTS:The linear range of paclitaxel was 0.05～5.00 mg?L-1(r=0.999 7)with average recovery rate at 98.75%～100.44%.Both intra-day RSD and inter-day RSD were less than 5%(n=5).The plasma concentration-time profile in 11 patients after iv infusion of paclitaxel was in line with a two-compartment model.CONCLUSION:This established method is simple,accurate,reproducible and applicable for clinical determination of blood drug concentration and pharmacokinetic studies.

OBJECTIVE:To try to establish a combined serum-pharmacology and electrophysiology method for the study of mechanism of chuanxiong extract in dilatating coronary artery.METHODS:Chuanxiong extract was intragastrically given to rats and mice,then the serum contents of tetramethylpyrazine(TMP)were determined by HPLC,which provided data for electrophysiological study.The action of chuanxiong extract on Ca 2+ -activated K channel(Kca)of smooth muscle of coronary artery in pigs was studied by patch clamp technique.RESULTS:The calibration curve of TMP was linear in the range of0.216～54?g/ml(r=0.9999).The recovery was100.7%～102.4%.The serum concentrations of TMP in rats and mice were(3.56?3.01)and(8.19?6.57)?g/ml respectively.The chuanxiong extract could not markedly activate the Kca of smooth muscle of coronary artery in patch clamp study.CONCLUSION:The established method for TMP determination is feasible and relieable.In order to improve the combined electrophysiology and serum pharmacology technique,high quality medical materials should be adopted and the bioavailability improved.
