ObjectiveTo explore the protective effect of Sox11 gene on cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury(CIRI)in mice and its mechanism,so as to provide a new target for the treatment of CIRI.MethodsThe mouse middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO)model and Neuro2A cell oxygen glucose deprivation reperfusion(OGDR)model were established and detected for the temporal and spatial distribution of Sox11 in the models by real-time quantitative PCR,Western blot,immunohistochemistry(IHC)and immunohistofluorescence(IHF).The altered expression of some crucial genes in the pathway of apoptosis and inflammation in OGDR model after the disruption of Sox11 expression was detected by Western blot.ResultsThe expression level of Sox11 mRNA and protein increased significantly in both MCAO and Neuro2A OGDR models(P = 0.000 1 ～ 0.038 8);After CIRI,Sox11 expression was elevated in the hippocampal dentate gyrus(DG)region of mice;After interfering with the expression of Sox11 in OGDR model,the expression of apoptosis-related protein Cleaved Caspase 3 significantly increased,while the expression of anti-apoptosis protein Bcl-2 significantly decreased,and the expression of phosphorylated NF-κB(p-NF-κB)protein related to inflammatory reaction also up-regulated significantly.Conclusion Sox11gene had a protective effect against CIRI in mice,and was involved in the regulation of apoptosis and inflammation pathways after CIRI.

Objective To study the clinical and pathological features, diagnosis and treatment of malig-nant mesothelioma of the tunica vaginalis testis. Methods One case of malignant mesothelioma of the tuni-ca vaginalis testis was reported. The patient was a 73 years old man, presented with a history of aggravated hydrocele for 1 year. B-ultrasound showed 7.5 cm×4.1 cm liquid anechoic area around the testis. The Pubmed and CBM databases were searched for related articles, and the clinical data were reviewed. Results An operation was performed to incise the tunica vaginalis. The pathology showed fecal caneeration in the tunica vaginalis testis and the immunohistology showed CK5/6, Calretinin and E-cadlberin positive. Right or-chiectomy was performed after three weeks. Local tumor recurrence and inguinal lymph nodes metastasis were found 11 months after operation, and local tumor and lymph nodes were resected. The tumor was diagnosed as malignant mesothelioma of the tunica vaginalis testis and CK5/6 and Calretinin fecal positive. Conclu-sions Malignant mesothelioma of the tunica vaginalis is a rare disease of the testis with potentially aggres-sive behavior. Due to the lack of tumor markers and characteristic symptoms, correct preoperative diagnosis is extremely difficult. Radical surgical treatment is of major importance to the survival of the patients. Life-long follow-up should be offered to patients with malignant mesothelioma of the tunica vaginalis.

Objective To combine grey relation analysis and partial least squares regression model to establish the forecasting model of per-patient hospitalization expenses .Methods Gray relational analysis was used to filter out the main factors affecting per-patient hospitalization expenses ,and then collinearity was examined between these factors .Partial least squares regression was used to establish prediction model of per-patient hospitalization expenses ,and the prediction accuracy was proved .Results After filtered by gray relational analysis ,the order of the importance of factors affecting per-patient hospitalization expenses was the west-ern medicine fee ,traditional Chinese medicine fees ,diagnosis and treat fees ,other fees ,inspection fees ,bed fees and operation fees . The established partial least squares regression model had a higher accuracy on fitting and prediction ,with low average relative er-ror ,respectively ,-0 .000 2% and 0 .349 3% .Conclusion The gray relational analysis and partial least squares regression are suit-able for the influencing factors and prediction analysis of hospitalization costs .It provides a reference for data with the small sample size and high collinearity between the variables .

Objective To establish a new and convenient assay for whole blood lead concentration. Methods Whole blood sample was digested by nitric acid-perchloric. Under the condition of pH 0.8～1.0, lead concentration was examined by Hydridegeneration Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometry.Results The method had good linearity when lead concentration were between 0 to 600 ?g/L, r =0.999. The within-run CV of the method for high, middle and low lead level were 4.1%, 3.6% and 3.5% respectively. The between-run CV were 4.9%, 4.6% and 4.7% respectively. The recovery rates were 105.4%, 98.5% and 94.8% respectively. The single-blind test result of series standard lead samples provided by Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine were within the acceptable range. The detecting Limit of this method was 0.3 ng. There was no significant interference from main two-valence positiveion. The sample can be storage at lest for 1 months at 4℃. Samples of 869 children from Tianjin were tested by this method. The mean value was 91.9 ?g/L, median was 83.8 ?g/L, all data were within 23.1～386.3 ?g/L. The result showed out positive skewness distribution.Conclusion This method were sensitive, accurate, precise, quick and low-cost. It was suitable for use in clinical laboratories.

Objective To explore the medication rules of Professor WEI Pin-kang in treating gastric cancer; To provide references for clinical medication. Methods Gastric cancer cases treated by Professor WEI Pin-kang in TCM outpatient department of Shanghai Changzheng Hospital from January 2008 to December 2015 in WEI Pin-kang TCM Studio Outpatient Medical Cases (including electronic database and paper medical cases database). TCM Inheritance Support System V2.5 was used to build database. Frequency analysis, association rule analysis, complex system entropy clustering and other data mining methods were used to analyze frequency, medicine association rules and core medicine combination. Results Totally 305 clinical prescriptions including 185 kinds of Chinese materia medica were collected. The Chinese meteria medica with the high frequency were Pinellinae Rhizoma Praeparatum, Arisaematis Rhizoma Preparatum and Galli Gigerii Endothelium Corneum, etc. High frequency Chinese materia medica were with the properties of warm and cold, and with the flavors of bitter, spicy and sweet, to Stomach Meridian of Foot-Yangming, Spleen Meridian of Foot-Taiyin, and Liver Meridian of Foot-Jueyin. The medicine combinations with high frequency were Pinellinae Rhizoma Praeparatum and Arisaematis Rhizoma Preparatum,Pinellinae Rhizoma Praeparatum and Galli Gigerii Endothelium Corneum, and Galli Gigerii Endothelium Corneum and Arisaematis Rhizoma Preparatum. The common medicine pairs were Aurantii Fructus and Aurantii Fructus Immaturum and Scorpio and Scolopendra. Analysis showed 36 association rules of the confidence > 0.99. 70 core medicine combinations and 11 new prescription were obtained. Conclusion Professor WEI Pin-kang treats gastric cancer based on phlegm theory. The dissolving phlegm and eliminating stagnation medicine, regulating qi-folwing for harmonizing stomach medicine and heat-clearing and detoxifying medicine are commonly used.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture intervention in muscle, bone and joint pain caused by aromatase inhibitors in the treatment of breast cancer. Method One hundred and forty breast cancer patients with aromatase inhibitors-caused muscle, bone and joint pain were randomly allocated to groups A, B, C and D, 35 cases each. group A received ear acupuncture plus the intravenous drip of zoledronic acid;group B, ear acupuncture alone;group C, the intravenous drip of zoledronic acid alone;group D, oral administration of calcium carbonate and vitamin D3 chewable tablets and alfacalcidol soft capsules. The Brief Pain Inventory score was observed in every group before and after treatment. Bone mineral densities of the lumbar vertebrae were compared between the groups before and after treatment. Result In groups a and B, there was a statistically significant difference in the pain interference score at three, six and twelve weeks of treatment and at six weeks after the end of treatment compared with before treatment (P<0.01). At three, six and twelve weeks of treatment and at six weeks after the end of treatment, there was a statistically significant difference in the pain interference score between group A or B and group C or D (P<0.01). In groups a and B, there was a statistically significant difference in the pain score during the most severe pain at three, six and twelve weeks of treatment compared with before treatment (P<0.05). At three, six and twelve weeks of treatment, there was a statistically significant difference in the pain score during the most severe pain between group A or B and group C or D (P<0.05). At three weeks of treatment, there was a statistically significant difference in the pain score during the most severe pain between group B and group C or D (P<0.05). In every group, there was no statistically significant difference in BMD T-score at twelve weeks of treatment and at six weeks after the end of treatment compared with before treatment (P>0.05). Conclusion Ear acupuncture can significantly relieve muscle, bone and joint pain caused by aromatase inhibitors and the pain relief is not related to bone mineral density, but muscle, bone and joint pain recurs in the patients after the treatment is discontinued. Zoledronic acid can not relieve the pain. Ear acupuncture plus zoledronic acid is not more effective than ear acupunctura alone in relieving the pain.

Objective To investigate the curative effect of RevoLix 2 micron continuous wave laser va-poresection for treatment of elderly and high risk benign prostatic hyperplasia patients. Methods Clinical data of 36 benign prostatic hyperplasia patients with medical complications aging 70 -82 years were retro-spectively analyzed. Operations were done after their complications were controlled. The RevoLix 2 μm laser system with output power of 70 W was used, and normal saline was used as rinse solution. Operations were started after positions of seminal colliculns and distances to neck of bladder were confirmed. Results Oper-ation time varied from 65 to 135 rain with a mean time of (83.6±10. 6) rain. Occasional venous hemor-rhage occurred during operation but no arterial hemorrhage was observed. No blood transfusion necessitated and no TURP syndrome was observed. Catheter was removed 2-4 days after operation. All the patients could urinate freely. No urinary incontinence was found during follow-up except 2 patients with temporary urinary incontinence. A 3-6 months follow-up showed that IPSS decreased from 24. 26 ±2. 70 to 8.47±4. 32, QOL dropped from 4. 51±0. 56 to 1.34 ± 0. 53, and Qmax increased from (6. 37 ± 1.31) mL/s to (17.24± 2. 32) mL/s. Conclusions RevoLix 2 micron continuous wave laser vaporesection is a safe and effective method with less trauma and fast recovery for treating elderly and high risk benign prostatic hyperplasia pa-tients.

Objective To assess the value of emergency interventional embolization in treating traumatic spleen rupture. Methods A total of 74 patients with traumatic spleen rupture, who were encountered at authors’ hospital during the period from July 2007 to July 2013, were enrolled in this study. The clinical data were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into embolization group (n = 38) and surgery group (n = 36). Interventional splenic artery embolization was carried out in the patients of the embolization group, and surgical repair was employed in the patients of the surgery group. The operation time, the amount of blood loss during the procedure, the hospitalization days, the preservation rate of the spleen and the occurrence of procedure- related adverse events were recorded, and the results were compared between the two groups. Results No significant difference in the operation time existed between the two groups (P = 0.061). The amount of blood loss during the procedure, the hospitalization days and the occurrence of procedure- related adverse events in the embolization group were significantly lower than those in the surgery group (P < 0.05), while the preservation rate of the spleen of the embolization group was significantly higher than that of the surgery group (P = 0.026). Conclusion Emergency interventional embolization is a safe procedure for the treatment of traumatic spleen rupture, this technique can improve the preservation rate of the spleen when compared with traditional surgical repair treatment.
