China Pharmacist 2017;20(1):104-106
Objective:To observe the efficacy and safety of high dose methylprednisolone in the pulse therapy for infantile spasms. Methods:Totally 70 cases of infantile spasms were randomly divided into the conventional dose group and high dose group with 35 ones in each according to the random number table. High dose group was given methylprednisolone pulse therapy for the first 5 days, and then received the conventional dose treatment. The conventional dose group received prednisone tablets orally. The treatment course was 8 weeks. The ECG outcome, efficacy and incidence of adverse reactions were observed and compared between the groups, and the efficacy of pulse therapy for the patients with different causes and different course was also studied. Results:The total effective rate of high dose group was 94. 29%, which was significantly higher than that of conventional dose group (71. 43%), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0. 05). The EEG outcome between the groups had not statistical significance (P>0. 05). The incidence of adverse reactions in high dose group was wigher, while the difference was not significant (P>0. 05). The efficacy of pulse therapy for different causes and different course had no statistically significant difference (P >0.05). Conclusion: High dose methylpred-nisolone pulse therapy can effectively improve clinical efficacy for infantile spasms, which shows no effect on the safety of patients.
6.Microglia and Parkinson's disease
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2012;16(24):4549-4554
BACKGROUND: Because dopaminergic neurons are particularly sensitive to oxidative stress, microglia is characteristics of being prone to activation, and activated microglia is the main source of oxygen free radical production, so microglia activation is more important in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease and illness progress.OBJECTIVE: To summarize the correlation between microglia and Parkinson's disease.METHODS: An online computer-based retrieval was performed by the first author among the Chinese Journal Full-Text Database (CNKI: 2000/2010) and Medline (2000/2010) Database, with key words of Parkinson's disease, microglia in English and Chinese. The correlation between microglia and Parkinson's disease was discussed through two aspects, one is the influence of cell factors and toxic substance produced after microglia activation on Parkinson's disease, the other is the inhibition of microglia and prevention of nerve toxic factors on Parkinson's disease progress.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: A total of 112 articles were screened out according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, and 27 of them were involved in the analysis. Results showed that microglia activation will damage dopaminergic neurons, and cause Parkinson's disease. And the occurrence and development of Parkinson's disease may further reduce the neurotransmitter dopamine, continue to damage dopaminergic neurons and release the inflammatory factor, thus promoting microglia activation. Inhibition of microglia activation is likely to stop the progress of Parkinson's disease.
7.The effect of flexible visiting policies in ICUs: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2021;37(11):813-819
Objective:To investigate the effect of flexible visiting policies in ICUs by comparing with restrictive visiting policies. Methods:English database (Pubmed, embase, Cochrane library, scopus, OvidSP, Wiley Online library, Google scholar and web of science) and Chinese database (CNKI, VIP, CBM and Wanfang) are retrieved, the search time is up to February 2020. The included literatures were evaluated quantitatively and qualitatively. Results:The flexible visiting policies can reduce the risk of delirium in ICU patients [RR=0.59, 95%CI=(0.36,0.96)], shorten the length of stay [MD=-0.21, 95%CI=(-0.35,-0.06)], improve patients' anxiety symptoms [MD=-2.2, 95%CI=(-3.8,-0.61)], reduce the incidence of anxiety and depression and improve the nursing satisfaction of patients and their families, without increasing the risk of ICU acquired infection [RR= 0.77, 95% CI= (0.51, 1.16)] and patient mortality (RR= 0.82, 95% CI= (0.53, 1.26)]. Sensitivity analysis suggested that the results were stable. Conclusions:Compared with the current restrictive visitation policies, the flexible visitation system can reduce the risk of delirium, improve anxiety symptoms and depression, and obtain more satisfaction from family members and patients, and It can be tried further.

Objective:To investigate the values of immunophenotype and the Collagen type1 alpha1/Proto-oncogene Proteins c-sis (COL1A1/PDGFB) fusion gene in the diagnosis of dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP). Methods:IHC markers and the COL1A1/PDGFB fusion gene were detected by IHC staining and interphase fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) in 73 cases previously diagnosed as DFSP. A total of 85 and 10 non-DFSP cases were also included as controls for IHC staining and FISH, respectively. Results:In the 73 DFSP cases, the positive detection rates for immunohistochemical marker vimentin, CD34, CD99, S100, desmin and SMA were 100%, 91.78%, 61.64%, 0, 0, and 6.85%, correspondingly. Protein expression levels in these cases varied from the control group, and CD34 ex-pression was significantly different among the differential diagnoses. The positive detection rate for the COL1A1/PDGFB fusion gene was 86.96%(60/69), whereas the gene expression in the control group was negative. Conclusion:The COL1A1/PDGFB fusion gene is a highly specific and sensitive marker in the diagnosis of DFSP. CD34 is a suitable marker for DFSP.
