Objective: To study the anticarcinogenic effects of raisin grape produced in Turpan in vitro; to determine the content of the components related to anticarcinogenesis.Methods: The effect of Turpan raisin grape on the growth of four tumor cell lines and one normal cell line was observed. Malignant pleural effusion is a common complication of advanced cancer.The present study employed chest circulating hot infusion chemotherapy for 55 cases of malignant pleural effusion.The outcomes were complete remission (n =23,41.8%),partial remission (n =25,45.5%),stable disease (n=4,7.3 %) and progressive disease (n =3,5.5%).And the effective rate was 87.3%.After treatment,the levels of interleukin-10 (IL-10) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) were significantly lower than those before treatment (P < 0.05).And the levels of interleukin-2 (IL-2) and interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) were significantly higher than those before treatment (P < 0.05).Pleural circulation perfusion chemotherapy is both safe and effective in the treatment of malignant pleural effusion.And it helps to enhance immune functions and improve the quality-of-life of patients.
5.The Effects of Fungi on the Activation of Monocyte Derived Dendritic Cells and Its Impact on Priming Th Polarization.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: The mucosal immune response depends on the surveillance network established by dendritic cells (DC) localized within the respiratory epithelium. Fungi have been increasingly recognized as important pathogens in respiratory diseases. We hypothesized that DCs play a central role in the immune response against airborne fungi. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Monocyte-derived DCs were developed by incubating monocytes with interleukin-4 (IL-4) and granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor. DCs were stimulated with Alternaria alternata and Aspergillus nigra for 24 hours and then co-cultured with CD4-positive lymphocytes for 6 days. Levels of IL-6 and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) were measured to determine activation of the DCs, and levels of TNF-alpha, IL-5, and interferon-gamma (INF-gamma) were measured to determine Th polarization. DC migration was induced with conditioned media from nasal polyp epithelial cells stimulated with fungi. RESULTS: Alternaria and Aspergillus activated DCs with enhanced production of cytokines. When activated DCs were co-cultured with CD4-positive lymphocytes, Th2 cytokine and IL-5 production was significantly increased by Alternaria. DC migration was significantly increased by conditioned media from cells that were activated with Alternaria. CONCLUSION: Airborne fungi induced different immune responses depending on the fungi. Alternaria strongly induced DC migration and a Th2 immune response.

6.Association between insulin resistance and primary hypertension in Chinese Mongolian population

BACKGROUND: Insulin resistance may be a risk factor for hypertension,but the relationship between insulin resistance and hypertension are quite different from different race or nationalities. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the relationship between insulin resistance and hypertension in Chinese Mongolian population.DESIGN: Prevalent investigation.SETTING: Staff Room of Epidemiology, Public Health College of Harbin Medical University. PARTICIPANTS: Totally 232 patients with primary hypertension and persons with normal blood pressure, aged from 30-60 years from Kezuohouqi of Tongliao city in June 2001 based on the prevalent survey, and they all Mongoloid population. Examination was performed and blood pressure was measured. They were involved in this investigation after signing the consent. Other cardiovascular disease patients were excluded.METHODS: A total of 115 patients with primary hypertension and 117normotensives were selected with cluster sampling method. Height, body mass, waistline, hip line and waist-to hip ratio (WHR), I.e. Waist line/ hip line were standardization method. Body mass index (BMI) < 24 kg/m2 or waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) < 0.9, body mass or somatotype was partial to normal. Blood glucose was detected with glucose meter. Radio-immunoassay (RIA) were utilized to measure insulin and C-peptide. Degree of insulin resistance was determined by means of insulin sensitivity index (ISI), ISI =-ln [glucose (mmol/L) × insulin (Mu/L)]. After considering the effect of BMI and WHR as well as the stratification of BMI (≥24 kg/m2 and < 24 kg/m2) and WHR (≥ 0.9 and < 0.9), statistical analysis was performed. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ISI of the investigational subjects of the two groups. RESULTS: Totally 232 included investigational subjects were involved in the result analysis, without drop out. ①Comparison of ISI of the investigational subjects of the two groups: The ISI of the hypertension group was slightly lower than that of the normotensive group, but the difference was not significant [-3.56±0.27,-3.50±0.20(P > 0.05)]. ②Comparison of ISI of the investigational subjects of the two groups after delamination according to BMI and WHR: When the BMI was less than 24, the ISI in the hypertension group was lower distinctly than that in the normotensive group [-3.56+0.27,-3.48±0.17(F=5.037, P < 0.05)]. When the WHR was less than 0.9, the ISI of the hypertension group was lower dramatically than that in the normotensive group [-3.57+0.27,-3.49+0.20(F=4.537, P < 0.05 )].CONCLUSION: The insulin resistance may be related to primary hypertension in non-obese Chinese Mongolian population.

ObjectiveTo know about the correlation analysis of the physical and mental status of organ transplanted patients' family members during the patients' rehabilitation period and the long term survival of the transplanted organs.MethodsA total of 600 organ transplanted patients' family members were investigated by Zung self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) and simple coping style questionnaire.The results underwent subsequent analysis.ResultsAnxious state of organ transplanted patients' family members was more severe than that of domestic norm (P<0.01).There were some differences in terms of anxious state of family members with different genders,education backgrounds,income and the resource of medical expenditure (P<0.05).Family members most took positive coping styles,whereas fewer adopted negative coping styles (P<0.01).Positive coping styles were negatively correlated with the anxiety of family members (P<0.01) and positively correlated with long term survival of transplanted organ(P<0.05).However,negative coping styles of family members were significantly positively correlated with their anxiety (P<0.05) and were negatively correlated with long term survival of transplanted organ.ConclusionsThe anxiety generally exists in organ transplanted patients' family members.There are differences in terms of anxious state among family members of different genders,different education backgrounds,income or with the resource of medical expenditure.The more they adopt positive coping styles,the lower anxiety level they show and the longer the transplanted organ survive.Conversely,the more they adopt negative coping styles,the higher anxious level they show and the shorter the transplanted organ survive.
8.Study on recovery and its influencing factors of ferulic acid and tetramethylpyrazine in cerebral microdialysis probe.

To establish a method for detecting microdialysis recovery of tetramethylpyrazine (TMP) and ferulic acid (FA) and investigating the influencing factors, providing the basis for further in vivo microdialysis experiments. The concentration of FA and TMP in dialysates were determined by high pressure liquid chromatography ( HPLC) and probe recovery were calculated respectively. The influence of the flow rates, medium concentration, temperature and in vivo probe stability on the recovery of FA and TMP were investigated by using concentration difference method (incremental method and decrement method). The recovery obtained by incremental method were similar to by decrement method. The in vitro recovery rate of FA and TMP decreased with the increase of 1-2.5 μL min(-1), and increased obviously with the temperature of 25-42 degrees C under the same conditions. The concentration of FA and TMP had no obvious effect on the probe recovery under the same flow rate. In addition, the recovery of TMP and FA remained stable and showed similar trends under the condition of four concentration cycles, indicating that the intra day reproducibility of the concentration difference method was good. The recovery of brain microdialysis probes in vivo 8 h maintained a relatively stable, but certain differences existed between different brain microdialysis probes, demonstrating that each probe was required for recovery correction in vivo experiment. Microdialysis sampling can be used for the local brain pharmacokinetic study of FA and TMP, and retrodialysis method can be used in probe recovery of FA and TMP in vivo.

9.Expression and significance of CEA and CA153 in pleural fluid of patients with lung cancer.

BACKGROUNDFinding the cancer cells in pleural fluid of patients with lung can-cer by conventional cytology is always a difficult point. In order to enhance the diagnostic rate of pleural fluid with lung cancer, carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and cancer antigen 153 (CA153) were detected in serum and pleural fluid, and their diagnostic values on lung cancer were analyzed.
METHODSQuantities of CEA and CA153 were detected by chemiluminescence in both serum and pleural fluid of patients with lung cancer (74 cases) and without lung cancer (34 cases).
RESULTSThe levels of CEA and CA153 in pleural fluid of patients with lung cancer were significantly higher than those without lung cancer (P < 0.01). The levels of CEA and CA153 in serum of patients with lung cancer were distinctly higher than those without lung cancer (P < 0.01). The levels of CEA and CA153 in pleural fluid were obviously higher than those in serum (P < 0.01). The optimal diagnostic assay of lung cancer was CEA+CA153 combination: sensitivity and specificity were 85.1% and 97.1% respectively.
CONCLUSIONSIt could be of important clinical significance for diagnosing lung cancer by assaying CEA and CA153 in pleural fluid of patients with lung cancer.
10.Effect of Gastroesophageal Reflux on the Symptoms and Treatment Result of Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome.

BACKGROUND: Gastroesophageal reflux (GER) is characterized by the retrograde movement of gastric contents into the esophagus and laryngopharynx. Recent studies have described a relationship between GER and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The aim of this study was to determine whether the presence of GER affects the symptoms and treatment results of OSA. METHODS: One hundred twenty-seven OSA patients were enrolled in this study. All subjects underwent overnight polysomnography. Objective symptoms were evaluated using the Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), the Stanford Sleepiness Scale (SSS), the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Korean version of the World Health Organization Quality of Life Assessment Instrument-BREF (WHOQOL). Diagnosis of GER was based on the Korean version of GER questionnaires. Post-operative subjective symptoms were evaluated 3 months after uvulopalatopharyngoplasty. RESULTS: Body mass index, ESS, and SSS were significantly higher in the GER group, but polysomnographic parameters were not different between two groups. In the GER group, post-operative overall health quality was significantly improved, but the subjective symptoms were not different between the two groups. CONCLUSIONS: Although the prevalence of GER was higher in OSA patients, GER did not significantly influence OSA symptoms and post-operative results.
