Objective To investigate the risk factors of nausea and vomiting syndrome after thyroidectomy.Method The clinical data of 214 patients undergoing thyroidectomy were analyzed retrospectively to look into the risk factors.Results Seventy-two patients contracted nausea and vomiting syndrome after thyroidectomy,with an incidence of 33.64%.All of them had nausea of degrees 1,2 and 3,taking up 47.22%,27.78%and 25.00%,respectively.38.89%of them had vomiting of mild,intermediate and severe degrees, accounting for 32.14%,57.14% and 10.71%,respectively.Gender,smoking history,anesthesia and surgical duration were correlated with the syndrome(All P<0.05).Non-conditional Logistic regression analysis showed that female,general anesthesia, operative duration ≥2h were independent risk factors(all P<0.05).Conclusions Syndrome of nausea and vomiting after hyroidectomy has a higher incidence.Female,general anesthesia and surgical duration are independent risk factors.Interventional measures pertinent to these factors may reduce the incidence of nausea and vomiting syndrome after thyroidectomy.

Objective To establish a quantitative method to determine the content of platycodin D,D3 and E in Radix platycodi.Methods High performance liquid chromatagraphy-evaprorative light scattering dector(HPLC-ELSD) method was adopted.Platycodin D,D3 and E were separated by C18(5 ?m,4.6 mm?150 mm) with acetonitrile-water as mobile phase in a gradient program;flow rate was 1.0 mL/min,the temperature of drift tube was set at 113 ℃,and the gas flow(N2) was set at 3.0 L/min.Results The linear ranges of platycodin D,D3 and E were 13.78-275.6 ?g/mL(r=0.999 5),8.40-168.0 ?g/mL(r=0.999 7) and 12.02-240.4 ?g/mL(r=0.999 6),respectively.The average recoveries(n=5) were 98.3%,99.4% and 101.3%,respectively.Conclusion The method is convenient,accurate and reliable,and can be used for the determination of platycodin D,D3 and E in Radix platycodoi.

Objective To evaluate the effect and safety of trans-arterial chemotherapy embolization (TACE) in the treatment of primary hepatic carcinoma ( PHC ) with portal vein tumor thrombus. Methods There were 83 PHC patients complicated with portal vein tumor thrombus, age ranging from 29 to 76 years. Objective To observe the changes of cardiovascular function after acupuncture at Neiguan (PC 6) respectively with slowly twirling needling and tube needling in healthy subjects, and to objectively evaluate the pain intensity of the two needling methods.Method A hundred healthy young subjects were randomized into group A and group B, 50 cases in each group. Neiguan (PC 6) point was selected for acupuncture in both groups. In the first stage, group A received acupuncture by slowly twirling needling, while group B received acupuncture with tube needling; in the second stage (a week later), group A received acupuncture with tube needling, while group B by slowly twirling needling. The Short-form McGill Pain Questionnaire (SF-MPQ) was observed after acupuncture for each subject, and ZXG-E automatic cardiovascular function detector was adopted to evaluate the cardiovascular function before puncturing, 5 min after puncturing, and 30 min after puncturing.Result The Sensory Pain Rating Index (S-PRI) and total SF-MPQ scores of slowly twirling needling were significantly different from that of tube needling (P<0.01). The Affective Pain Rating Index (A-PRI), Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), and Present Pain Intensity (PPI) of slowly twirling needling method were significantly different from that of tube needling (P<0.01). At 5 min after needle insertion, the FEK and VER values of twirling needling were significantly different from that of tube needling (P<0.01).Conclusion The pain produced by slowly twirling needling is more variant and stronger than that by tube needling, and this pain variation can produce a positive effect on cardiovascular function.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of moxibustion in treating perimenopausal syndrome (PMS).Method Totally 108 PMS patients of yang deficiency or yin deficiency constitution were randomized into a treatment group of 56 cases and a control group of 52 cases. The treatment group was intervened by moxibustion, while the control group was by medication. The modified Kupperman Index (KI), Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA), Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90), and Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) were observed before and after treatment for comparison.Result The KI score, HAMA score, SCL-90 total score, and SDS score were significantly changed in both groups after intervention (P<0.01,P<0.05). After treatment, the KI score, HAMA score, SCL-90 total score, and SDS score in the treatment group were significantly different from that in the control group (P<0.01,P<0.05).Conclusion Moxibustion is effective in treating PMS, and it can improve the anxiety and depression symptoms of the patients.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the knowledge, attitude of the AIDS prevention and occupational safety in dentist in Kunming and west part of Yunnan and evaluate the effect of education and intervention.

METHOD165 dentists in Yunnan were tested by KABP questionnaire before education. All of the 165 dentists participated a course on AIDS prevention. After that course the same questionnaire was answered by participants.

RESULTThe correct rates obviously increased. The understanding rates of the oral prevention measure were obviously improved.

CONCLUSIONThe knowledge of AIDS prevention is very low in dentist in Kunming and west part of Yunnan. The education intervention can effectively improve the understanding level of the AIDS prevention in dentist.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) guidelines emphasize that external chest compression should be started as early as possible during CPR. In addition to manual hand compressions, the machine for CPR can be used instead. However traditional machines for CPR take a lot of time toinstall, and is not conducive to the early initiation of chest compressions. So the medical staff of the emergency department of Mindong Hospital Affiliated to Fujian Medical University designed a new type of machine for CPR based on scissor lift principle without back plate. The design has obtained the national utility model patent. This patented product with flexible lifting and accurate placement is easy to install and fix, and can overcome the drawbacks of conventional machines that are uneasy to install, thus ensuring the implementation of high quality CPR.
