Objective To observe the oral part of the facial artery and facial vein and to provide anatomical data for clinical applica-tion. Methods The origin, branches, course, diameter, position of oral part of facial artery and facial vein were observed on 32 fixed cada-ves (64 sides). Results The position relation between the facial artery and facial vein is non-constant. Measure the distance from inferior border of mandible to corner of the mouth, angulus mandibulae, mental protuberance midpoint. It is (5. 49 ± 0. 63) cm, (2. 50 ± 0. 89) cm and (6. 20 ± 1. 68) cm in the left side respectively, and (5. 69 ± 0. 72) cm, (2. 56 ± 1. 08) cm and (6. 85 ± 1. 86) cm in the right side re-spectively. The diameter of facial artery in inferior border of mandible is (0. 33 ± 0. 08) cm in the left side and (0. 38 ± 0. 07) cm in the right side;while the diameter of facial vein is (0. 40 ± 0. 12) cm in the left side and (0. 42 ± 0. 18) cm in the right side. The facial artery and facial vein are not concomitant and they are not asymmetry also. The position of superior labial artery arteries is constant, but the position of inferior labial artery arteries have more variations. Conclusion The branches, course, diameter and position of oral part of facial artery and facial vein have a number of variations. The superior labial artery arteries could be positioned more easily than inferior labial artery arter-ies. Being familiar with their distribution is of great importance for clinical application.

Due to the virtues of no stutter peaks, low rates of mutation, and short amplicon sizes, insertion/deletion (InDel) polymorphism is an indispensable tool for analyzing degraded DNA samples from crime scenes for human identifications (Wang et al., 2021). Herein, a self-developed panel of 43 InDel loci constructed previously by our group was utilized to evaluate the genetic diversities and explore the genetic background of the Han Chinese from Beijing (HCB) including 301 random healthy individuals. The lengths of amplicons at 43 InDel loci in this panel ranged from 87 to 199 bp, which indicated that the panel could be used as an effective tool to utilize highly degraded DNA samples for human identity testing. The loci in this panel were validated and performed well for forensic degraded DNA samples (Jin et al., 2021). The combined discrimination power (PD) and combined probability of exclusion (PE) values in this panel indicated that the 43 InDel loci could be used as the candidate markers in personal identification and parentage testing of HCB. In addition, population genetic relationships between the HCB and 26 reference populations from five continents based on 19 overlapped InDel loci were displayed by constructing a phylogenetic tree, principal component analysis (PCA), and population genetic structure analysis. The results illustrated that the HCB had closer genetic relationships with the Han populations from Chinese different regions.

Objective :
To establish the liver conditional knockout mouse model ofNod2gene infected byKlebsiella pneumoniae(K.pneumoniae),and to explore the role and mechanism ofNod2gene in the process of liver abscess caused byK.pneumoniaeinfections.
Methods :
Nod2flox/floxmice were obtained by self-crossing ofNod2flox/+mice, andAlb-Cre+mice were hybridized withNod2flox/+to obtainNod2flox/+;Alb-Cre+mice, then the above two genotypes mice were crossed to obtain liver conditional knockout mice ofNod2gene(Nod2flox/flox;Alb-Cre+) and negative control mice in the same litter(Nod2flox/flox).The genomic DNA of mice toe was extracted and amplified by polymerase chain reaction(PCR).The genotypes of offspring were identified by agar-gel electrophoresis and the livers of mice were extracted.Real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR(RT-qPCR) and Western blot were used to verify the knockout efficiency ofNod2gene in the liver. Both experimental group and control group mice were infected withK.pneumoniae, and the survival rate and pathological changes of livers were observed at different time points, and mRNA expression levels of Tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α),interleukin 1β(IL-1β) and C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 1(CXCL1) in the livers of experimental group and control group were detected by RT-qPCR 24 h postK.pneumoniaeinfections.
Results :
The expression of NOD2 mRNA in the liver ofNod2flox/flox;Alb-Cre+mice decreased, and the Western blot results showed that the expression of NOD2 protein decreased.Compared with the control group, the survival rate of mice infected withK.pneumoniaein the experimental group decreased(median survival time=60.5 h,P=0.046 9) and the liver tissue showed more serious pathological damage, furthermore the mRNA expression levels of TNF-α,IL-1β and CXCL1 in the livers of experimental group were lower than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).
Conclusion
NOD2 plays a protective role in the process of liver abscess induced byK.pneumoniaeinfections.
