[ABSTRACT]OBJECTIVETo assess the upper airway and related structures in different patterns of the upper airway obstruction on cine magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging in patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS).METHODSCMR images of upper airway were obtained in 30 male patients with severe OSAHS during waking state and natural sleep. The midsagittal plane images were obtained. Patients were classified into 3 groups based on the upper airway obstruction patterns at apnea events and the reference data of the upper airway were measured.RESULTSDuring natural sleep, the diameter of retropalatal region, retroglossal region, retroepiglottic region and the length of suprahyoid muscles were significantly shorter than those during waking state (P<0.01). The maximum angle between the suprahyoid muscles and the apex of the tongue during natural sleep was significantly larger than that during waking state (P<0.01). During wakefulness, there was a significantly difference in the diameter of retropalatal region among 3 obstruction patterns (P<0.01). During natural sleep, there were statistical difference in the diameter of retropalatal region and the upper tongue, the angle between the hard palate and soft palate, the maximum angle between the suprahyoid muscles and the apex of the tongue, and their change values among 3 obstruction patterns (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONThe measurements of the upper airway and related structures on CMR imaging in OSAHS patients could provide useful information in assessing upper airway.

Discuss the clinical features of primary ectopic thyroid carcinoma.
METHOD:
The clinical data of three cases diagnosed of primary ectopic thyroid carcinoma in our department since 1990 were analyzed ret respectively and related literature was reviewed.
RESULT:
All three patients were young females that had cervical lumps before surgery. The pathology results confirmed the diagnosis of ectopic thyroid papillary carcinoma. All cases had followed up till now and no relapse signs occurred.
CONCLUSION
Ectopic thyroid tissue is resulting from developmental defects at early stages of thyroid gland embryogenesis. They can cancerization, the treatment of ectopic thyroid carcinoma is also controversial. Here,we report 3 cases of primary ectopic thyroid papillary carcinoma, all of which were removed by surgery, take thyroxin orally after surgery and have a great prognosis.

In this study, the time-dependent changes on dynamic computed tomograph (CT) of radiation-induced liver injury in gastric cancer patients was examined. The CT images of 52 gastric cancer patients who had received chemoradiotherapies were reviewed on the PACS system. Dynamic CT scan was performed in all the subjects. Our results showed that 18 patients were found to have radiation-induced liver injury. The CT findings of radiation-induced liver injury in gastric cancer patients tend to show up one month after radiation treatment. The damaged area was of low density on all three phases, and then it was enhanced on portal vein phase or delay phase. The focal radiation reaction of liver without basic disease vanished 9-11 months later after treatment. We are led to conclude that dynamic CT is of help in the diagnosis of CRT-induced liver injury, and it may be the method of choice for following up the whole course of the CRT-induced liver injury, i.e., form hepatic damage to healing. The classification of CT findings we recommend can avoid the influence of technological factors, and thereby serve as a better guide for treatment of CRT-induced liver injury.

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of combination of toy and cartoon video-assisted admission in preventing agitation during recovery from general anesthesia in preschool children. Methods:Totally 96 children who undergoing elective surgery from July 2018 to October 2019 in Guangzhou Women and Children′s Medical Center were divided into experimental group ( n=48) and control group ( n=48). Two groups were admitted to the general preoperative waiting room for 60 minutes before the operation, and children in the experimental group recieved toy and cartoon video combination intervention, while children in the control group were subjected to routine nursing intervention. The children′s agitation was assessed by using Pediatric Anesthesia Emergence Delirium Scale (PAED) when children entered the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), 10 minutes after in PACU and leave PACU. In addition, the vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate of the two groups were also recorded. Results:The emergence time and duration of PACU stay in the experimental group were (17.19±1.76) minutes and (22.47±2.36) minutes, significantly shortern than in the control group (18.36±2.19) minutes and (23.82±2.62) minutes, the difference was statistically significant ( t values were 2.760, 2.546, P<0.05). 10 minutes after in PACU and out of PACU, the PAED scores, systolic pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate was [7.56±1.86, 4.60±1.19, (108.12±10.19)mmHg, (102.72±8.55) mmHg, (112.91±6.10) times/minute, (106.39±6.75) times/minute, (18.87±1.98) times/minute, (17.49±1.68) times/minute], significantly lower than those in the control group [13.40±1.47, 6.71±2.21, (116.73±14.17)mmHg, (107.62±12.44) mmHg, (121.07±8.07) times/minute, (114.69±5.78) times/minute, (20.96±1.86) times/minute, (18.47±1.63) times/minute], the difference was statistically significant ( t values were 2.162-16.332, P<0.05). Conclusion:Toy and cartoon video combine-assisted admission can reduce the agitation and stable vital signs during recovery from general anesthesia in preschool children.

Objective To explore the clinical diagnosis and management of focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH) of the liver. Methods Forty-two FNH cases treated in the past 9 years were studied retrospectively. The clinical and pathologic data were reviewed. Results Preoperative liver function test and AFP were normal. The preoperative radiography in FNH was usually not specific, with less than 50% cases were suggestive of FNH of the liver. Surgical resection resulted in a permanent cure with no significant postoperative complications. More than one year follow-up found recurrence in one case. Conclusion Clinical, laboratory and radiological findings when combined could help in establishing tentative diagnosis of FNH. Surgery is recommended in cases with equivocal diagnosis or in fear of hepatocellular carcinoma.
