Objective To retrospectively analyze the clinical features of elderly-onset systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).Methods A total of 916 patients were enrolled in this retrospective study,and their clinical data were collected by the same methods in the past ten years (1999 2009) in fifteen hospitals in Jiangsu Province.Patients were divided into two groups based on the age of onset disease:control group and elderly group.The relationships between clinical features,immunology index and disease activity were analyzed in different age group.Results Among 916 SLE patients,24 patients were selected in the elderly onset SLE group,and 892 patients were considered as the control group.The ratio of male/female,mortality rate,the number of complications were higher in elderly onset SLE group than those in the control group (all P ＜ 0.05),and discoid rash,thrombocytopenia,elevated C-reactive protein (CRP) level,abnormality of serum albumin were found more common in elderly onset SLE group than in control group (all P＜0.05).The incidences of Malar rash and photosensitivity,antinuclear antibodies (ANA) positivity rate,anti-Sm antibodies positivity rate were lower in elderly onset SLE group than in control group (all P＜0.05).The time of final diagnosis,mean time of onset to death,positive family history,oral ulcers,arthritis,serositis,nervous involvement,musculoskeletal disorder,renal involvement,elevated serum creatinine (Scr) level,leucopenia,hemolytic anemia,elevated proteinurine,Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) levels,anti-dsDNA antibodies positivity rate,decreased complement C3 level,SLEDAl score had no significant differences between the two groups.Conclusions There were many differences in the clinical features between the elderly onset SLE patients and the controls,and the mortality rate is higher in the elderly onset SLE patients,which should be pay more attention to in clinical medcine.

Objective To investigation the condition,expectation and support of quality of life in adult with intellectual disability.MethodsA total of 394 adult with intellectual disability,their parents and friends in Beijing were involved in the study.Their qualities of life were evaluated.ResultsAbout quality of life,the adult with intellectual disability had significant more expectation than they had gained actually;their parents and friends had significant more expectation than themselves and staff of primary rehabilitation did.ConclusionIt is necessary to provide support to improve the quality of life of adult with intellectual disability.

Objective To investigate the application of PKH26 fluorescent labeling on nucleus pulposus cells isolat-ed from bovine coccyx disc, and to provide nucleus pulposus tissue engineering with traceable nucleus pulposus cells by PKH26 fluorescence labelling. Methods Nucleus pulposus primary cells were isolated from the nucleus pulposus tissue de-tached from bovine coccyx disc by enzymatic digestion, and observed under the inverted microscope. Safranin O, toluidine blue and type Ⅱ collagen immunocytochemistry methods used to stain for passage one generation cells. Nucleus pulposus cells were labeled with PKH26 fluorescence in accordance with the instructions. The cell activity, fluorescence intensity at d0, d14 and d28 of culture, characteristics of proliferation and the expression of gene in labeled cells were assessed. Re-sults Isolated nucleus pulposus cells amounted to (1.56 ± 0.35) × 106/g. Under the inverted microscope, primary cells ad-hered at the 4 th day of culture, grew in groups, and covered the bottom of culture flask at the 13 th day. Both primary cells and the P1 generation cells were chondrocyte-like morphology. The staining of safranin O, toluidine blue and typeⅡcolla-gen immunocytochemistry for P1 generation of nucleus pulposus cells showed positive results. The cell activity before and af-ter PKH26 labeling showed more than 95%, and the fluorescence intensity at d0, d14 and d28 performed a decreasing trend, but still showed detect strong fluorescence at d28. There were no significant differences in proliferation and the expression of gene (collagen typeⅠandⅡ, aggrecan) before and after cell labeling (P>0.05). Conclusion As the seed cells of tissue en-gineering, nucleus pulposus cells isolated from bovine coccyx can reach a satisfactory number and maintain cartilage-like phenotype, and no changes shown in the biological characteristics after labeling. PKH26 labeled nucleus pulposus cells are suitable for the traceable cells in vivo study.

Objectives:To explore the curative effect of posterior lumbar interbody fusion under Delta large channel endoscope(Endo-PLIF)on degenerative lumbar diseases.Methods:A retrospective analysis was per-formed on the case data of 80 patients with degenerative lumbar diseases treated in the hospital between September 2021 and September 2022.The patients were divided into observation group(38 cases,17 males and 21 females,aged 61.0±4.9 years)and control group(42 cases,20 males and 22 females,aged 60.5±5.4 years).The patients in the observation group were treated with Endo-PLIF,while those in the control group were treated with open posterior lumbar interbody fusion.The intraoperative blood loss,postoperative drainage volume,operative time,length of surgical incisions,length of hospital stays,and complications of both groups of patients were recorded and compared.The visual analogue scale(VAS)was used to evaluate patients'low back pain and Oswestry disability index(ODI)was used to assess the lumbar function before surgery,at 1 week,1 month,3 months and 6 months after surgery.The patients were also evaluated using the modified Macnab criteria for treatment efficacy,and using the Bridwell criteria for assessing the segmental fusion within 1 year after surgery.Results:The intraoperative blood loss and postoperative drainage volume in the observation group were 88.46±10.98mL and 159.73±18.42mL,lower than those in the control group 112.99±12.01mL and 201.36±23.06mL(P＜0.05);The lengths of surgical incision and hospital stays were 1.54±0.36cm and 6.79±1.22d,which were shorter in the observation group than those in the control group of 5.43±1.01cm and 8.03±1.43d(P＜0.05);And the operative time was longer in the observation group than that in the control group(162.33±19.57min vs 126.87±23.15min,P＜0.05).All the patients were followed up for 15-40 months(19.0±6.3 months).At 1 week and 1 month after surgery,VAS scores in observation group were 2.46±0.51 and 1.21±0.38,and ODI were(17.84±4.15)％and(10.69±1.88)％,which were lower than those in the control group[VAS score:3.68±0.62,2.01±0.41;ODI:(21.33±3.48)％,(12.33±2.17)％,P＜0.05].At 3 months and 6 months after surgery,there was no significant difference in VAS scores between the two groups(P＞0.05).There was neither significant difference in the excellent and good rate of treatment(92.11％vs 85.71％,P=0.487)nor significant difference in fusion grading between the observation group and control group(Z=0.487,P=0.624).No significant difference was noticed in the incidence of postoperative complications between observation group and control group(5.26％vs 9.52％,P=0.678).Conclusions:The curative effect of Endo-PLIF is satisfactory on degenerative lumbar diseases,which can reduce intraoperative blood loss,shorten surgical incision and hospitalization time,improve short-term pain and lumbar function faster,with good safety.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of domestic human recombinant FSH (rhFSH) in women with anovulation of WHO groupⅡ. Methods A randomized, blind, parallel-controlled, non-inferiority and multicenter study was performed. A total of 534 admitted to 13 hospitals from May 2008 to August 2009. There were 531 women with ovulatory disorder was included in the statistical analysis, were randomly divided into test group (domestic rhFSH, n=352) and control group (imported rhFSH, n=179). Percentage of cycle with mature follicle, ovulation rate, clinical pregnancy rate, multiple pregnancy rate, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) and adverse events were observed. Results No statistical significant differences (P>0.05) were observed between the two groups in terms of the efficiency on mature follicle [91.8%(323/352) versus 88.8%(159/179)], ovulation rate [91.3%(295/323) verus 90.6%(144/159)], clinical pregnancy rate [19.2%(62/323) verus 18.2%(29/159)], the number of the follicles<14 mm, the level of serum LH and progesterone, the thickness of endometrium on the day of hCG administration. The number of follicle≥18 mm and 14 mm≤follicle<18 mm and the level of serum estradiol on the day of hCG in the test group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The number of days of rhFSH administration in the test group was significantly less than that in the control group [(9.8±2.2) versus (11.4± 0.6) days, P<0.05], the dosage of rhFSH was significantly lower than that in the control group [(879 ± 419) versus (1 043 ± 663) U, P<0.05]. The multiple pregnancy rate in the test group was significantly higher than that in the control group [21% (13/62) versu 10% (3/29), P<0.05]. The incidence of OHSS and adverse events were similar between the two groups (P>0.05), and no other adverse events were observed in test group during treatment. Conclusion Ovarian stimulation with domestic rhFSH is effective, safe and economical in women with anovulation of WHO groupⅡ.

Objective To review the performance of the IFCC enzyme reference methods in China laboratories and to evaluate the competence of enzyme reference measurement in China.Methods The Intemational Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine(IFCC)enzyme reference methods were performed in 8 China laboratories.Reference procedures were developed by each laboratory and the performances were evaluated.The Clinical and Laboratory Stadards Institute(CLSI)EP-5 protocol was used for the evaluation of precision and certified reference materials(CRMS)were used for the verification of trueness.Seven of the 8 laboratories participated in the 2006 IFCC external quality assessment program for reference laboratories(RELA)for the assessment of the measurement performance.Results Within-run CVs of less than 1.5%and between-run CVs of less than 2%were achieved bv all the China laboratories.Results on CRMs by some of the laboratories agreed with the certified value within the stated uncertainty.In the 2006 RELA,the averages and the interlaboratory CVs of the China laboratories were similar to those of international laboratories.Conclusion A preliminary enzyme reference method laboratory network has been established in China.

Objective To investigate the clinical significance of PET/CT in the diagnosis of giant cell arteritis .Methods The clinical manifestations ,laboratory detection and PET/CT results in 4 patients with giant cell arteritis treated in this hospital were retrospectively analyzed .And the relevant literatures were reviewed .Results The age of 4 cases in this hospital and 29 cases in lit-eratures all were over 50 years old ;clinical manifestations were mainly the non-specific symptoms such as fever ,weight loss and my-algia;the laboratory detection results mainly manifested by the increase of ESR and CRP ;PET-CT indicated that the continuous dif-fuse metabolism of the wall in aorta and its primary branching was elevated ;the maximal standardized uptake value(SUVmax) of 4 cases in this hospital was 2 .5-9 .6 .Conclusion PET/CT has a certain value for diagnosing giant cell arteritis ,especially the pa-tients with early stage or atypical clinical manifestations .PET/CT has certain significance for determining the lesion range and jud-ging the curative effect .
