A multidisciplinary approach involving multifaceted therapeutic strategies is necessary to reduce cardiovascular events and to improve prognosis in these patients. The purpose of this review is to outline proven and promising therapeutic strategies for improving the long-term cardiovascular prognosis of patients with type 2 diabetes.
2.GABAA receptors and fragile X syndrome
International Journal of Pediatrics 2010;37(6):637-640
Fragile X syndrome is a common cause of inherit mental retardation,GABAA receptors are the major inhibitory neurotransmitter receptros in the mammalian central nervous system, implicated in anxiety, depression, epilepsy, sleeping problem, learning and memory, and so on. Several researches indicated that the GABAergic system, in particular the GABAA receptors might be related to the phenotype of fragile X syndrome. An altered expression of certain subunits of the GABAA receptors may cause the neurological and behavioural changes of the fragile X syndrome. Therefore, the GABAA receptors can be a novel therapeutic target for treatment of fragile X syndrome.
3.Screening of solid culture medium without animal-derived materials for resuscitation of Streptococcus pneumoniae
Chinese Journal of Biologicals 2023;36(10):1172-1178
Objective To screen a kind of solid culture medium without animal-derived materials for resuscitating Streptococcus pneumoniae(Spn). Methods Spn 19F was selected for the preliminary screening of 9 kinds of formula culture media without animal-derived materials, and then other 23 serotypes of Spn were cultured for verification. The effect of the selected medium on the hereditary stability of various serotypes was identified by strain identification and capsular polysaccharide antigen gene sequence analysis of the 15-generation strains. The strains resuscitated by this medium were fermented according to the production procedure, and the culture situation and the yield and quality of capsular polysaccharide antigen were analyzed to determine the production applicability of the screened medium. Results The number of viable bacteria of various types of Spn was desired after 11~15 h of incubation on the selected solid medium and there was no difference in strain identification and antigen gene sequence between the final 15 generation and the control(strains cultured in sheep blood solid medium). After fermentation and culture of the strain resuscitated by this medium, the cell growth and the capsular polysaccharide production increased slightly, and all the related verification indicators of capsular polysaccharide met the requirements in Chinese Pharmacopoeia(Volume Ⅲ,2020 edition). Conclusion The selected solid culture medium without animal-derived materials has good applicability and can replace blood-derived culture medium for the resuscitation of Spn strain for vaccine production.
4.Evaluation of protective effect of animal-free freeze-drying protective agent on Streptococcus pneumoniae during freeze-drying
Chinese Journal of Biologicals 2024;37(12):1415-1420+1427
Objective To evaluate the protective effect of YTG, an animal-free freeze-drying protective agent for pneumococcal strains, on Streptococcus pneumoniae(Spn) during freeze-drying.Methods First, the freeze-drying procedure was determined by analyzing the eutectic point and plait point of YTG freeze-drying protective agent, then the protective effect of YTG freeze-drying protective agent on pneumococcus during freeze-drying and preservation was preliminarily determined by freeze-drying survival rate and accelerated stability test of the strains. Furthermore, the effect on the characteristics of strain and polysaccharide antigen gene sequence was judged by strain verification and capsular polysaccharide antigen gene sequence analysis. Finally, the freeze-dried strains with YTG freeze-drying protective agent were used for fermentation culture according to the production procedure, and the culture situation, the yield and quality of capsular polysaccharide antigen were analyzed to determine the production applicability of YTG freeze-drying protective agent. Results The survival rate of freeze-drying was 50%-90%, and the number of viable bacteria tended to 1. 2 × 10~9CFU/branch in the accelerated stability test. There was no difference in strain appearance and antigen gene sequence compared with the control(sheep blood freeze-dried strain). After the fermentation of the freeze-dried strain with YTG, the growth of bacteria and the yield of capsular polysaccharide increased slightly, and the related verification indexes of capsular polysaccharide were in line with the standards of Chinese Pharmacopoeia(Volume Ⅲ, 2020 edition). Conclusion YTG freeze-drying protective agent has good applicability and can be used for freeze-drying protection of pneumococcus.
5.The Restriction Between Distance and Velocity Measurement in Medical Doppler Ultrasound and the Detection of Blood Flow Velocity Profile
Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 1995;4(4):183-187
The restriction between distance and velocity measurement in medical Doppler ultra-sound is first proposed in this paper. The reasons resulting in this restriction are also analysed. Then our method to estimate blood flow velocity profile is introduced,in which the restriction is avoided. The discussion of this restriction in medical Doppler ultrasound and the method to detect blood flow velocity profile are finally presented.
6.Influence of case mix index on management of average days of stay at clinical department based on DRGs
Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 2017;33(1):38-40
As introduced in the paper, the average days of stay of clinical department were calculated as a management target, in view of the complexity of disease and case mix index. This method could avoid the deficiency of traditional methods and make the management of average length of stay of clinical department more conforming to the actual situation, and also more scientific and reasonable.
7.Indigo Naturalis separation by foam floatation
Chinese Traditional Patent Medicine 1992;0(01):-
AIM: To study the process of foam floatation in the separation of Indigo Naturalis in batch mode. METHODS: Recovery of indigo and purity were chosen as the performance criteria and single examining method to examine the operational parameters,i.e.air flow rate, initial feed concentration, solution pH,initial feed volume on floatation performance. RESULTS: The floatation performance was good when gas flow rate increased from 112 L/h to 256 L/h,initial feed concentration of 0.4 g/mL,keeping the initial pH,feed volume of 1 000 mL.The purity ratio of indigo was about 2.3 and the recovery was about 90%. CONCLUSION: Foam(floatation) can be applied to the separation of Indigo Naturalis.
