Objective To investigate the role of GABAB1 receptors in spinal dorsal horn neurons in the development of diabetic neuropathic pain (DNP). Methods Sixty pathogen free male SD rats aged 4 weeks weighing 150-170 g were randomly divided into 2 groups ( n = 30 each): control group and DNP group. Diabetes mellitus was induced by single intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin 50 mg/kg. Blood glucose levels and paw withdrawal threshold to mechanical stimuli were measured at 3, 5 and 7 weeks (T1, T2, T3 ) after IP STZ/NS ( n = 10 each). The animals were sacrificed after PWL measurement. The lumbar segment of the spinal cord was removed for determination of the expression of GABAB1 receptors by immuno-histochemistry, RT-PCR and Western blot analysis. Results The blood glucose levels were significantly higher while the PWT was significantly lower at T1,T2 and T3 in group DNP than in control group. The expression of GABAB1 receptor mRNA and protein in spinal dorsal horn was significantly lower at T2 and T3 in DNP group than in control group. Conclusion The expression of GABAb1 receptors is down-regulated in spinal dorsal horn neurons in rats with DNP.

BACKGROUND:Experiments have demonstrated that biological membranes can be usedtorecon struct thetendon she athandin hibit exogenou shealing of thetendon. Therefore, the semembrane sprovide a good bed for tendon gliding and reduce tendon adhesion.
OBJECTIVE:To compare the effectsof acelular amniotic membrane and medical membraneagainst tendon adhesion during the repair oftendon sheath defects.
METHODS:ToesIIIfrom the bipeds of 66 leghorns were chosen to prepare tendon injury and tendon sheath defect models, which were randomly divided into three groups (n=22 per group). Amnion group were repaired with acelular amniotic membrane, medical membrane group with absorbable membrane, and control group had no treatment on tendon sheath defects. Gross, histological and biomechanical tests of each group were performed at 2, 4, 8, 12 weeks after surgery.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:At 12 weeks after surgery, in the amniotic membrane and medical membrane groups, the tendon sheath formed completely, and the tendon healed well, with no adhesion, but in the control group, there was serious tendon adhesion. At 8 weeks after surgery, the number of synovial cells in the false sheath was highest in the amniotic membrane group sequentially followed by the medical membrane group and control group. In the amniotic membrane group, the rough endoplasmic reticulum expanded highly and secreted exuberantly in the matrix, while in the control group, the synovial cells presented with messy arrangement, and expanded vacuoles in the matrix were weaker than those in the other two groups. At 12 weeks after surgery, fibroblasts were arrayedtidily in layerwith dense structure in the medical membrane and amniotic membrane groups;but in the control group, fibroblasts were distributed disorderly with loose structure. Tendon sliding distance and total flexor toe angle in the amniotic membrane and medical filmgroups were significantly larger than those in the control group (P < 0.05),butthere was no significant difference between the medical membrane and amniotic membrane groups. Additionally, the maximum tensile fracture strength had no significant difference among three groups at 12 weeks after surgery. These results indicate that both amniotic membrane and medical membrane can markedlyprotect the tendon from exogenous healing and adhesion.

Objective:To explore the application value of soluble tumor suppressor 2 (SST2), galectin-3 combined with magnetic resonance multimodality in the diagnosis of myocardial fibrosis. Methods:The clinical data of 88 patients with cardiomyopathy from January 2017 to December 2019 in Handan Central Hospital of Hebei Province were retrospectively analyzed as the experimental group, and 100 healthy people in the same period were selected as the control group. According to the results of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMRI)-late gadolinium enhanced (LGE), the patients with cardiomyopathy were divided into LGE positive and LGE negative. The arrhythmia rate was evaluated by ambulatory electrocardiogram. The New York Heart Association (NYHA) cardiac function grade was recorded. The left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and left ventricular end diastolic diameter (LVEDD) were detected by echocardiography. The SST2, galectin-3 and N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was drawn to analyze the efficacy of SST2 and Galectin-3 in predicting myocardial fibrosis in patients with cardiomyopathy.Results:CMRI-LGE results of 88 patients with cardiomyopathy showed that LGE was positive in 42 cases and negative in 46 cases. The arrhythmia rate, LVEDD, SST2 and galectin-3 in experimental group were significantly higher than those in control group: 67.05% (59/88) vs. 2.00% (2/100), (46.55 ± 5.99) mm vs. (27.92 ± 2.05) mm, (61.83 ± 10.57) μg/L vs. (24.99 ± 7.69) μg/L and (18.65 ± 3.39) μg/L vs. (7.12 ± 1.33) μg/L, the LVEF was significantly lower than that in control group: (55.11 ± 8.36)% vs. (68.83 ± 9.45)%, and there were statistical differences ( P<0.01). The arrhythmia rate, NYHA cardiac function grade, LVEDD, SST2 and galectin-3 in patients with LGE positive were significantly higher than those in patients with LGE negative: 88.10% (37/42) vs. 47.83% (22/46), (3.10 ± 0.53) grade vs. (2.11 ± 0.61) grade, (48.88 ± 5.95) mm vs. (44.41 ± 5.24) mm, (65.58 ± 11.73) μg/L vs. (58.40 ± 8.10) μg/L and (21.00 ± 2.72) μg/L vs. (16.51 ± 2.39) μg/L, the LVEF was significantly lower than that in patients with LGE negative: (52.15 ± 8.23)% vs. (57.82 ± 7.60)%, and there were statistical differences ( P<0.01). ROC curve analysis result showed that the optimal critical values of serum SST2 and galectin-3 for predicting myocardial fibrosis in patients with cardiomyopathy were 65.07 μg/L and 18.46 μg/L, the area under the curve was 0.714 (95% CI 0.604 to 0.825, P = 0.001) and 0.894 (95% CI 0.828 to 0.960, P = 0.001), the sensitivity was 61.9% and 85.7%, and the specificity was 80.4% and 82.6%. Conclusions:Magnetic resonance multimodality has a good ability in detecting myocardial fibrosis, and serum SST2 and galectin-3 have good predictive value for myocardial fibrosis. SST2 and galectin-3 combined with magnetic resonance multimodality has important clinical significance in the diagnosis of myocardial fibrosis.

9. Progress and controversy of indocyanine green (ICG) used in laparoscopic navigation surgery for advanced gastric cancer
Chinese Journal of Oncology 2019;41(12):896-899
Indocyanine green (ICG) has been used as a novel tracer for mapping lymph nodes in navigation surgeries for many malignant tumors. Recently, ICG is mainly applied in sentinel lymph node biopsy for early gastric cancer, while its application in advanced gastric cancer is less reported. It was reported that application of ICG in locating perigastric lymph nodes could elevate the efficiency of lymphadenectomy for advanced gastric cancer. Besides, recognizing small lymph nodes and dissecting certain lymph node stations are its unique advantages. However, some problems remain unsolved, as few relevant research has been done. Based on conceptions of minimal invasive and precision medicine, ICG may play an important role in improving the accuracy of laparoscopic surgery for advanced gastric cancer in the future.
10. Diagnosis and treatment strategy of gastric cancer with ovarian metastasis
Chinese Journal of Oncology 2019;41(3):178-182
Ovary is one of the common metastatic sites of gastric cancer. In the female patients, ovarian relapse is one of the most important causes of treatment failure for gastric cancer. The most likely mechanism of Krukenberg tumor development is via retrograde lymphatic spreading from gastric cancer. However, neither optimal treatment strategy nor standard treatment guideline for Krukenberg tumor from gastric cancer has been clearly established. The diagnostic key points consist of the previous or concomitant history of gastric cancer and the detection of ovarian solid tumors. The therapeutic regimens mainly include the metastasectomy, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and comprehensive treatment. Surgical resection of metastatic tumor combined with adjuvant chemotherapy can improve the prognosis and survival.
