Journal of Interventional Radiology 2015;(9):750-753
Objective To analyze the vascular architecture characteristics of the complex direct cavernous arteriovenous fistula (cd-CAVF) and to discuss its treatment and the curative effect of interventional embolization. Methods The hospitalization records, imaging features and operation records of 12 patients with cd-CAVF were retrospectively analyzed. Results In the 12 patients with cd-CAVF, the lesion’s blood supply arteries included internal carotid artery (ICA,n=8), primary trigeminal artery (PTA,n=1), middle cerebral artery (MMA,n=2) and basilar artery (BA,n=1). Different degrees of “arterial steal” phenomenon could be observed in all patients. The drainage routes included the superior ophthalmic vein and the inferior petrosal sinus (n=10), and cortical vein (n=2). Interventional embolization was carried out via ICA (n=4), through both ICA and BA (n=5), through MMA (n=2), or through BA (n=1). For the embolization of the lesion the balloons were used in 8 patients, steel coils were adopted in 2 patients, and balloons together with coils were employed in 2 patients. All the patients were followed up for 3-6 months. After the treatment the clinical symptoms and signs disappeared, and the lesions were completely cured in all patients with no complications. During the follow-up period of (60.2 ±26.8) months no recurrence of CAVF was observed. Conclusion The blood supply of cd-CAVF comes directly from the rupture of the blood vessels surrounding the cavernous sinus wall, the “arterial steal” phenomenon is prone to occur, and the drainage via the superior ophthalmic vein and the inferior petrosal sinus is more often seen. Transarterial balloon embolization is very effective for the treatment of cd-CAVF, and the use of coils together with multi-artery approaches is an effective supplementary method.

We studied the epidemiological characteristics of human bocavirus 4 (HBoV4) in children with a- cute gastroenteritis in Lanzhou (China). A total of 331 stool specimens were collected from children aged < 5 years with acute diarrhea at the First Hospital of Lanzhou University between July 2012 and June 2013. Specimens of HBoV were identified by nested polymerase chain reaction assays. Compared with related sequences in GenBank, the HBoV-positive strain isolated in the present study was, quite surprisingly, a rare genotype named HBoV4. This strain was a typical HBoV4,with high levels of nucleotide and amino acid homology to the Thailand strain, JQ267789 (98.9% and 98.7%, respectively), and the USA strain, GQ506568 (97.6% and 97.4%, respectively). This is the first report of HBoV4 as the causative agent for acute gastroenteritis in pediatric patients in China. This strain is one of two genotypes of HBoV that are currently circulating.

The chemical components of mainstream smoke were trapped by the artifical salvia. A novel method) for the analysis of the trapped chemical components was established using stir bar sorptive extraction(SBSE)) followed by a thermal desorption-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(TD-GC-MS). The major) factors including desorption temperature, desorption time, cryofocusing temperature, extraction time and the addition of sodium chloride were studied. Under the optimized conditions, the average relative standard deviation(RSD) of peak areas of 44 components which were identified from the artifical saliva for 6 determinations was less than 10%, which showed the good repeatability of this method. The experiment result indicated that the SBSE-TD-GC-MS technique provided a powerful tool for the analysis of smoke components of some cigarette) trapped and dissolved in the saliva.

Objective To construct a prokaryotic expression system of ahpC gene of Helicobacter pylori. Methods The ahpC gene was amplified from Hp chromosomal DNA by PCR technique and cloned into the expression vector pET-30a. The recombinant vector pET30a-ahpC was identified by DNA sequencing and transformed to E.coli BL21 (DE3) for expression under induction by IPTG. The expression product was analyzed by SDS-PAGE. Results PCR product showed that ahpC gene consisted of 594bp. The gene fragment that was inserted into the recombinant vector was identified to GenBank for 99%. SDS-PAGE showed that the induced protein was expressed highly in the host bacterium. Conclusion A prokaryotic high-expression system for ahpC gene has been successfully constructed. It can highly express r-AhpC protein in E.coli.

Objective To explore the effects of silver needle with systematical on shoulder-hand syndrome (SHS) after stroke. Methods 80 stroke patients with SHS were randomly divided into silver needle group (obsevation group) and body acupuncture group (control group) with 40 cases each group. Both groups received same rountine treatment and rehabilitation exercises after acupuncture. The color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI) was used to measure the velocity of blood flow of the upper limbs, and the Fugl-Meyer Assessment was used to assess motor function of the upper limbs after 3 weeks. Results There was no significant difference between 2 groups before and 1 months after treatment (P>0.05), but there was significant difference 3 and 6 months after treatment (P<0.01). The velocity of blood flow of ulnar artery, radial artery, ulnar veins, radial veins and middle finger digital artery were higher in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.01). Conclusion The silver needle combined with systematical rehabilitation can improve the velocity of blood flow of artery and veins of upper limb, and improve the motor function of upper limb.

To explore the relationship between parental hypertension history and hypertension in children and adolescents based on the relevant data of 6 049 children and adolescents aged 6 to 17 years old in Jinan city from September 2012 to September 2014. The results showed that the history of hypertension in parents was positively correlated with systolic blood pressure in children and adolescents, with the value of coefficient β ( 95%CI) about 0.91 (0.23-1.59). Compared with children and adolescents whose parents had no history of hypertension, those with history of hypertension in one parent and both parents were more likely to develop hypertension, with ORvalues (95% CI) about 1.28 (1.01-1.61) and 2.24 (1.09-4.61), respectively. Therefore, it is suggested that prevention and intervention measures should be taken as soon as possible for children and adolescents whose parents have a history of hypertension.
