Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2011;27(19):14-16
Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect and nursing ways of pulmonary surfactant in premature babies with respiratory distress syndrome. Methods From July 2008 to January 2011,63 cases of premature babies with respiratory distress syndrome were admitted to our department, pulmonary surfactant was dripped through trachea into these patients, the treatment effect after medication was observed. Results Among these premature babies, one case died of respiratory failure, one case died from pulmonary hemorrhage, sixty-one cases were cured, the cure rate was 96.8%. After treatment, the arterial blood pH, partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2) and oxygen saturation(SaO2) of the 61 patients was significantly higher than before treatment, the arterial blood partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO2)、 total carbon dioxide (TCO2)、actual bicarbonate (AB)was significantly lower than before treatment. Conclusions Pulmonary surfactant combined with appropriate nursing ways is able to cure premature babies with respiratory distress syndrome effectively.
2.Clinical observation and nursing intervention of children patients with hand-foot-and-mouth disease complicated with viral encephalitis
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2011;27(23):3-4
Objective To observe the clinical therapy of hand-foot-and-mouth disease, and to summarize the method of nursing intervention. Methods A retrospective analysis was carried out in 112 pediatric patients with hand-foot-and-mouth complicated with viral encephalitis disease of our hospital from February 2009 to May 2010. The method of nursing intervention during treatment was summarized. Results According to the incidence of pediatric patients, regardless of during or after treatment, various nursing interventions were taken. And ultimately, patients were all cured, after discharge they had no significant sequelae. Conclusions There are seasonal and age differences among pediatric patients, pertinent nursing intervention should be taken in order to make patients recovery early.

Objective To analyze the impact factors and their importance on academic reputation of medical research institutions in China. Methods Seventy medical researchers and 70 medical graduate students were selected by convenience sampling method.Brainstorming and expert consultation were applied to determine the 6 factors affecting the academic reputation of medical research institutions in China.A Face-to-face or e-mail interview was conducted using a designed questionnaire.Six affecting factors were nominated analyzed.Chi-square test was used to cross exam nominated rate and affecting factors;Bonferroni method was also applied to make paired comparisons. Results There is significant difference in nomination rates among 6 impact factors (P < 0.001).Pairwise comparison showed that information obtained by academic exchange (70.49 %) and the scientific understanding generated from research practice (67.21%) are top 2 impact factors to the medical research institutions;followed by all kinds of ranking list (44.26%),and the celebrity effect (42.62%).Conclusions Scientific communication and research practice are two most important factors affecting the academic reputation of medical research institutions in China.

Objective To investigate alexithymia and perceived stress in nursing staff. Methods Nurses who were 18 to 45 years old were selected with clustered sampling method and finished the Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20) and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS).Results TAS total sore ranged from 25 to 84.The incidence of critical state group and alexithymia group was respectively 38.5% and 26.0%.There was no significant difference of alexithymia in nursing staff with different ages, education background and marital status. The total score of TAS-20 was significantly higher in general nurses than in nursing cadres, and the score of alexithymia factor was significantly higher in senior nurses than in junior nurses and in-charge nurses. The perceived stress was rising in non-alexithymia group, the critical state group and alexithymia group and the scores had significant difference. Conclusions There is a high incidence of alexithymia in nursing staff and more stress is perceived in nursing staff with alxithymia.More attention should be paid to and more psychological intervention should be given to younger nurses.

Mink plasmacytosis, caused by Aleutian Mink Disease Virus (AMDV), poses a threat to the development of the animal fur industry. Neutralizing antibodies against AMDV may result in a persistent infection rather than providing protection for minks. To date,no specific methods to prevent or cure this disease have been developed. In order to eliminate mink plasmacytosis, antibody detection technology has been used globally as a dominant approach to screen for AMDV-positive minks. This paper introduces the classical technology, counterimmunoelectrophoresis and emerging technology in terms of AMDV antibody detection, and provides a glimpse into the future development of these technologies.

Objective To investigate the risk factors of reversible posterior leukoencephalopathy syndrome (RPLS) in pre-eclampsia or eclampsia gravida. Methods This study was conducted in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University between January 2013 and March 2016. A total of 100 patients who had no severe neurological diseases and were diagnosed pre-eclampsia or eclampsia, and underwent brain MRI were collected retrospectively. They were divided into 2 groups according to the MRI results, the RPLS group (n=49) and the non-RPLS group (n=51). The medical history, clinical symptoms and the results of laboratory examination were analyzed by the logistic regression, in order to explore the risk factors. Results In single factor analysis, HELLP syndrome, pregnancy associated with other diseases, poor prenatal care, grade 3 hypertension, elevated systolic blood pressure or diastolic blood pressure, elevated WBC, aspartate transaminase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), uric acid (UA) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), decreased platelet (PLT), headache, visual changes, seizures and conscious disturbance were more frequent in the RPLS group than those in the non-RPLS group (all P<0.05). According to the multivariate logistic regression analysis, the elevated WBC (OR=1.291, 95%CI:1.058-1.575, P=0.012), UA (OR=1.008,95%CI:1.001-1.016,P=0.032) and headache (OR=18.260, 95%CI:3.562- 93.607, P=0.000) were the independent risk factors. Conclusions Maternal history, clinical symptoms and some laboratory examinations might help in the early diagnosis of RPLS in pre-eclampsia or eclampsia gravida. Headache, the elevation of WBC and UA were the most significant factors.

In order to solve the problem of selection and in vivo delivery problem in siRNA treatment, hepatitis B virus (HBV) HBx gene which could be targeted by siRNA was studied. The siRNA expression plasmid which specific inhibits HBx expression was obtained by in vitro selection via a dual-luciferase plasmid including HBx-Fluc fusion protein expression domain. The selected siRNA expression plasmid was then encapsulated in PEG-modified cationic liposome, which was devoted into pharmacodynamic studies at both cellular and animal level. The results illustrated that the cationic liposome which encapsulated siRNA expression plasmid could effectively inhibit HBx gene expression both in vitro and in vivo.

Objective: To explore the correlation between the expression of C-terminal tensin-like protein (CTEN) and the prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods: Using immunohistochemistry, we detected CTEN protein level in samples of primary lesion and adjacent non-tumor lesion collected from 240 patients with HCC. The relationship between CTEN expression and clinicopathology, 5 year recurrent-free survival, or overall survival was evaluated by Chi-square test, Kaplan-Meier, or Cox regression analysis. Results: High CTEN expression was detected in 55% of hepatocellular carcinoma tissues and 20%of adjacent carcinoma tissues (P<0.001). CTEN expression was positively correlated with tumor diameter (P=0.022), venous invasion (P=0.007) or TNM stages (P=0.022). Five-year recurrence-free survival time (P<0.001) and overall survival time (P<0.001) in patients with high CTEN expression were signiifcantly less than those in patients with low CTEN expression. Multivariate Cox regression analysis revealed that the CTEN expression was an independent prognostic marker for HCC (all P<0.05). Conclusion: CTEN protein may play a role in the genesis and development of HCC, and it can function as a prognostic marker.
